So I hear “pole” in the title and I think strip club. But the aerial silk competitions look more like dance/acrobatics to me. Is it respectable for a catholic 30 yr old to want to do aerial silks as a sport and not as “pole” dancing ?

I'm soooooooooooo late but yes, aerial silks can be a sport just like dancing. People can make anything weird, but it's actually so fun and you should definitely give it a go!
