Skye, If you're going to dedicate a full dome wedge to housing you'd be better off using the Living complex rather than 3 individual quarters, they cost the same to build, have the same comfort and the complex uses less power than 3 quarters and hoses 2 extra people.

@@SkyeStorme I think you also might've missed the Deep Water and Deep Metal techs being unlocked further down the tech-tree from that anomaly/event in the first video. About 8 minutes & 40 seconds into the video is when you made the choice to unlock them -- "Improve the drilling technology (reveals Deep Water Extraction and Deep Metal Extraction tech) -- and they revealed the two spots of deep resources on the upper-right plateau, but I don't think you ever scrolled-down on your tech tree so I'm not sure if you actually unlocked the techs or if you just revealed those two specific deposits. I _think_ you'd also need Deep Scanning to find more of those deposits, but seeing as you've already made that ramp to the lower-left plateau to get the cave entrances, and deep resources usually have absurdly high resource pools, it might be worth making another ramp so you have access to the plateau for an autonomous metal extractor, at least.

@snarkdragon3 жыл бұрын
@@kheopsz81 Yep. R and T keys will adjust the size of the ramp. I always put mine down to the narrowest to reduce the amount of work required as well as reducing area used.
@tvfreakman6113 жыл бұрын
Terrain changes do not destroy anomalies. I've gotten an anomaly in the wall of my ramp once. Only issue is you might have to terraform further to get at it but that's really not that big of a problem. Also I should let you know that "T" and "R" alter the size of terrain changes like flatten and ramp. So you can build a smaller ramp that will take up less space.
@Kandrakar833 жыл бұрын
Skye you can land supply pods on landing pad to protect your base from dust. Also then I build a ramp I tend to make it on the side of a cliff pressed to a wall to lower the amount of wasted space.

Also, I put six water pumps around a deposit. I put the center edge hex of the shaded area on the deposit, rotate one, then place another. If you put the pipe side toward the deposit, the pipes make a nice hex around the center and a tribolectric scrubber fits nicely on top of the deposit. I don't destroy extractor typ stuff until I am reasonably sure I won't get the breakthrough that lets extractors work without a deposit.

how have you done on the challenges?

You may need to build Solar Panels in to help with the power. If you think about it, the wind does not blow all of the time. You may also wish to tie in all of your power cables and water pipes into one grid. This way you have a better idea of what you need. The reason you have extra power right now is one of your factories is using less power then you are providing it. Have a Great one!!!

Enjoying the episodes, Skye. I was wondering if you were going to play the new DLC. They have changed a few dynamics of the game to make it more challenging, or frustrating, LOL. For example, moving colonists to reside in other domes. Maybe you will have a solution for that one, 😉 I do love the fact that you can instantly charge the launch pad to a trading pad, and back again. So, you can always trade concrete for food if required; whilst you are waiting for that first Martian born. I'm looking forward to your approach to the game. Thanks for playing Surviving Mars again, Skye.

colonists move with shuttles, use filters to make everyone leave. I usually have 1 stubborn guy that won't leave even after shutting everything off. Eventually self preservation kicks in and they make a run for it. Funny to watch
@advancedloiterer18203 жыл бұрын
@@danieljasonhanf Yep, I have discovered that shuttles are required and lots of filters. I have built passageways between domes and rarely see them used. I have learnt to move my nursery/playgrounds to the next newly built dome and remove it from the full dome, so when the children grow up they reside in that dome.

You can't look at total power (or water or oxygen) UNLESS you tie all sources together in one system. You have excess power in some areas and power shortages in others. Tie them together with cables, then total power means everything is powered.
