James Bond 007

3 жыл бұрын

“This is going well…” James Bond (Daniel Craig) has his physical skills and mental condition re-evaluated by MI6 in SKYFALL. The set was based on Churchill’s bunker system built during World War II and was filmed at Pinewood Studios and the Old Vic Tunnels in London. Directed by Sam Mendes with Judi Dench as M and Rory Kinnear as Tanner, as seen in this clip.

I think as a movie though, Skyfall was pretty boring and didn't have much substance. This bbn whole training montage is such a corny Hollywood trope and doesn't advance the story in any way. After the first scene, nothing really happens in Skyfall for quite some time. Casino Royale and Quantum were the absolute best Craig Bond films.

Daniel Craig budges his facial muscles from their brooding pout for a second and everyone's "OMG GENIUS!!" Overrated actor. Throughout the vast majority of his Bond movies he's just stiff, awkward and robotic in the role. Boring and miserable, and any attempts at jokes he does are proper dad joke moments. The part with Bond and the psychiatrist is an absolute masterclass in the art (and importance) of subtle acting. What, on the surface, looks like it would be some of the simplest acting in the film is actually some of the hardest to pull off effectively, yet Craig and the actor who plays the psychiatrist somehow make it look effortless. Also, smart producers don't hire directors of the caliber and background of Sam Mendes for the big action scenes, but for the "small" scenes like this. This is where they truly get their money's worth.

I always thought "Skyfall" was a code word for something radical that he never expected to hear (like a safe word) but knows the importance of it, so by saying 'Done' he basically is saying 'consider the mission done, I will do what is required of me'. However, I now realize it was intended to provoke him. It's like a lie-detector test; they always start with easy, obvious questions to put you at ease and then just as you're getting into the swing of it and (relaxing) they throw in one of the key questions. In this case, they bring up Bond's childhood,, so he gets pissed off and leaves.

When I saw the teaser trailer which had this scene, I had thought that maybe Skyfall was the code name for a secret operation, either military or MI6, that Bond was previously involved in, like "Operation Skyfall" (given the UK's use of code names for operations, example Operation Granger, Operation Braid, etc.), and that it would come back to haunt him and MI6. When Bond falls to the ground after those chin ups is very relatable for me. More then once that week I had to sneak off to the toilet and collapse/vomit. Felt like I was dying, but felt 1000% better just a few days later, had to be done. I remember at one point I hit the squat rack and a few heavy sets I nearly puked all over the gym floor, just barely made it to the toilet. Fun times.

Perhaps it's part of a/the stress test? A field agent is always on the move and always processing information, a lot of the time under physical and psychological pressure. So perhaps it was also a psych eval. to determine whether Bond could still function well, process the information being given to him and relay answers back to the agent providing it to him under stress

Anyone here after watching the new movie? I never watched Bond films until Daniel Craig came along. He hooked me in and attracted my attention; ever since then, I have loved every bit of his movies. I love that depth he brings to Bond's character and that part of humanity in him. His movies literally changed the face of Bond movies. The cinematography, the action sequences, made the movies way more darker that it ever was. Loved how in the end of the interview Daniel talked about rarity of James Bond movies. You've added a part of your personality and life to the cinema history, Mr. Craig, and it is a valuable input. Thank you Daniel Craig. Thank u for great movies like; Casino Royale, Skyfall and NOW No Time To Die; my favourite Bond movie/ any movie of all time. I'll miss you being my James Bond, the one I grew up watching and still do, reminiscing how cool you are all while still looking up to you. ❤ To whoever is the next James Bond they have got huge shoes to fit in. This gent has been the best Bond ever. His Bond has taken the films into the stratosphere. I’ve loved the series since I was a little and cried as No Time To Die ended. Oh my days what a guy. Daniel Craig’s time as Bond is already over… 5 films…. 16 years….. where did those years go?! He’s been fantastic as Bond. ❤❤❤❤❤ Daniel Craig has been my personal favourite James Bond, he’s set the standard really high for the next actor whoever they might be and I hope that the film is as good as I’m hoping that it will be. If I ever get to meet the bloke I’ll be sure to buy him a drink or ten to say thanks. Daniel Craig excels all the James Bonds and brings it to this whole new level. This man made a whole new world with his time frame and the position he was in while playing James Bond. Daniel Craig is the absolute epitome of any actor reforming, improving & developing a movie to a 110% piece of work; always going above and beyond all expectations. He truly brings the movies to the top. Thanks Daniel Craig, Ml to my hero Craig... Daniel, Craig :)
