"People who've watched James Bond before. Does this guy appear?" No he doesn't. He was made just for Skyfall, and he's fantastic! That scene where Javier Bardem introduces himself, by descending an elevator, and then walking towards Bond for 2 minutes while he spouts his rhetoric ... ALL without a cut in the editing. It's high art.

This movie was the 50th anniversary of Bond, so they threw all the old stuff in it. That's why we finally got Q. But Sean Connery was originally asked to be the groundskeeper but declined, so they got Albert Finney instead.

After Pierce Brosnan left the role, I lost interest in Bond. So I never saw Casino Royale or Quantum of Solice… but I saw Skyfall after it came out of the theater. So it was the very first Daniel Craig Bond movie I ever saw

I was VERY intrigued that they were remaking *Casino Royale* , so I saw it. I was THRILLED. I had read the original novels, and Daniel Craig’s Bond was even closer to the literary 007 than was anyone else. Although Connery will always have a special place in my heart as the first cinematic Bond, Daniel Craig has embodied the character perfectly.

Casino Royal is considered the greatest 007 film ever made but To me it's definitely a toss up between GoldFinger , GoldenEye & Skyfall & they all have amazing intro theme songs especially Skyfall but I love all the 007 film for they're own reasons except for Diamonds Are Forever , that one was horrible

Trixy, this Bond film really starts to re-introduce many of the famous legacy characters from Franchise origins. Characters are updated, such as Q, Moneypenny, and M (and the silver Aston Martin car!). We now have a "new breed" for those classic characters that you will meet when you go back to the very beginning, in 1962, with the legendary "Dr. No"! We love Bond and all his co-characters!

Judi Dench has played M since the first Pierce Brosnan James Bond movie, GoldenEye released in 1995. While the character has been played by several actors since the 60s, she’s the first woman to play the part. The office with the padded door and having a secretary named Moneypenny is a reference to earlier portrayals of M. Bond and Monneypenny always had a very flirtatious relationship on screen, this is a neat way of laying the groundwork for it. Btw, if you want to see the first appearance of the iconic Aston Martin DB5, James Bond’s signature car, check out Goldfinger, Sean Connery’s third Bond move, released back in 1964… also those are the only two Bond movie titles to feature a golden body part, though there is another called The Man with the Golden Gun… which is not a sexual reference. He literally has a handgun that is made of gold.

Skyfall is such an intense bond movie. Sam Mendes knocked it out of the park. ------ He was able to capture the intrigue, the sex, the seduction, the intensity, the anger, the Sophistication of the Bond franchise. ------ Daniel craig started off as not what we envisioned Bond to be, but I think making him more clever and daring as as top knotch spy has made his impact more memorable. ----- Since he's not the protoypical superhero type. Goldfinnnnnnnger!!! oh wait that is a differnt Bond song. Skyyyyyyyyfalll!!!!!. Yes Adele you delivered without fail.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but all the tension with Moneypenny is a theme throughout the other movies, Bond flirts with her all the time, but nothing ever happens. She doesn't let his charm work on her

I'm always surprised people like that title song. It's so dreary (and it won an Oscar, so the themes for the next two Bond movies were also dreary). Dour, mopey songs doesn't put in the mood for car chases. When are the themes going to be fun again, like Live and Let Die or The Living Daylights?

This film is in my opinion the BEST of the Craig films as it was the best Bond film since Goldeneye which was Peirce Brosnan's, First Bond. It felt like classic James Bond. Judy Dench is not actually the first M she was the 3rd in the original series of films she was the Last of the old series of films. Q and Monney Penny are also main reoccurring Characters in the old films, in the original films Q is played by the same guy from the 60s all the way to 1999's The World is not Enough, in The World is not Enough Q has an assistant called R who took over the Q role in 2002s Die Another Day which was Peirce Brosnan's last Bond film and was the film before Casino Royal. Money Penny has been played by 4 different actresses The original actress stayed the same from the 60's to the early 80's and starred opposite the first 3 Bonds, Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moore. When Roger more retired the role Money Penny was recast as she would have been to old for the role opposite New 80's Bond Timothy Dalton she lasted all of Daltons' 2 films and then a New Monmy Penny was cast for the 90's Brosnan era. The Character of Felix Lighter who is the CIA Agent in Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace has been played buy 7 different actors in the series. And YES the Asyon Martins Ejector Seat is used in the original films I wont spoil as of when and what film that happens in as I want to see you react to the whole series!

Iconic Name: James Bond Iconic Greeting: "Bond, James Bond." Iconic Theme: The "James Bond Theme" is the main signature theme music of the James Bond films and has featured in every Eon Productions Bond film since Dr. No, released in 1962. Composed in e minor by Monty Norman (with arrangements for film provided by John Barry), the piece has been used as an accompanying fanfare to the gun barrel sequence in every Eon Bond film besides the 2006 reboot Casino Royale (played fully, instead, at the end of that film). @jimmygreer2140
@jimmygreer2140 Жыл бұрын
Judi Dench was only M for the last 2 Bond's (Bronson & Craig) for a total of 7 movies. She played a much bigger role in the Craig movies. Prior to the Craig movies M, Q & Moneypenny weren't much of characters....they would just show up to give Bond his mission, give him some gadgets (an exploding pen being one of them), and never be seen in the movie again. The older Bond movies were extremely formulaic in that way. Almost like entirely stand-alone movies without too much connections to the previous ones. That's why I really appreciate the Craig movies. They give the secondary characters much more to do and it feels like Bond has an actual "team" backing him up from London.

Hello from France Usually i already love the vialiais when they are charismatics, clevers, bad ass but this one, oh my god he is awsome. My favorite of the franchise. Javier Bardem stole the show and Raoul Silva starring the show to James Bond. It's like Darth Vador in Star Wars, Negan in TWD, Hans Gruber from Die Hard, Colonel Stuart from Die Harder, Colonel Miles Quarrich from Avatar or Scar from The lion king. A good story need a good villain and sometimes the bests vilains are thin who think what they did is right. The villain from Goldeneye or Licence to kill are very good too). It's strange in this movie the bond girl is M. Monnepeny was before the secretary of M. The last time we saw her was in Die another day. She's back in this movie.

I sometimes wonder how sad it must have been for Dame Judi Dench when she filmed her final scenes and said farewell to the M character after having played her since _GoldenEye_ (1995). I remember reading in a book how sad William Shatner was when he said goodbye to playing Captain (later Admiral) Kirk after _Star Trek: Generations_ (1994) and wonder whether what happens to Dench's character in this affected the actress in a similar way.

Sadly, Craig has said he's done being James Bond after the most recent film so they'll be recasting the role again. The talk is that anyone from Richard Madden to Henry Cavill to Idris Elba may be considered for the next Bond. What I'm wondering is will they totally reboot the franchise again, like with Craig where they showed how he was actually promoted to 00 status or will it be like the older ones that were only loosely connected to one another and each film was almost independent of the others. But you are totally right here! Action movies are really as good as their villains, and this guy was full blown nuttier than squirrel poo and a charismatic genius on top of it. BTW, the lizards in the club were komodo dragons. Very dangerous with venomous bites and a drive that makes them hunt their prey (anything is prey to these guys) over massive distances.

Casino Royale was a remake. Every sequel was not part of the original storyline.

Well yeah, quantum of solace was the first bond movie to not be based of one of the books and even though you called casino royale a remake it's technically the first official casino royale bond movie since the one in the 60's is a parody movie that only pokes fun at the novel.
