@ everyone who is having troubles with "can't find element": manually open the json you want to model in a text program, and have a look at the first line. It should say "parent:", for example "parent:blocks/cube". Then look for that file and try it. If it doesn't open in opl's as well, open it again and see if it has a parent- then try that parent. You're welcome

for some reason, whenever i use the "open" button, it only let's me see files that it's looking for, it doesn't let me see zipfiles, so i can't locate them in my .minecraft folder. I tried using the "all files" option when opening, but when i would try to open them correctly, it wouldn't work

Not sure if you'll see this since this video is almost 4 years old, but I need some help. I'm trying to make a custom model for the crafting table so that it's an actual table with 4 legs. However, since the crafting bench is normally a solid cube, it doesn't render the textures on any of the adjacent blocks. I noticed you were able to cut the corners off of the log blocks without having this problem. Can you tell me how you were able to do that?

In case anyone was wondering, that Json isn't formatted nicely due to the different new line characters used in Linux vs Windows, some quick googling should provide more info for those who are just getting started. Using a different editor such as atom / np++ would solve this automagically

I made an oak log using this and when I place it on ground it shows a blue square on the floor and when a place it sideways on another log it show the log i place it on as really dark. Also when I put it on a normal block it shows blue square where its touching and it shows the block as invisible. How can i fix these??

I did it with a ladder and it all worked perfectly, but when I went to do it with a crafting table I could not get it into opl’s. It would say the “elements” section is missing in the file

I have a problem, when I was done with my crafting table I put in the file and everything seemed to be going well. When I saw the crafting table in my inventory the block didn't have that top down angle look like it always does instead the sprite took up the whole screen. The block acts as if it was a purple and black texture block but all the textures and models were there, it's just the block has problems being loaded in my hand and in my inventory. If anyone can give me any ideas of what the problem is that would be greatly appreciated.

For some reason the textures don't load in-game whenever I try to apply them, I even try fixing them and nothingseems to work :( The model itself stays how I made it, but the texture just goes to black and pink "null" sorta texture and not the wood I'm setting it as :/

Hey trying to change a door but when I go in game it loads the missing texture and checked over and over making sure the textures were there but to no effect. I've even tried editing the door_bottom.json but it still won't do what I want it to. Any ideas? I really don't want to just change the texture but change the door entirely.

Hey Fin, I have a problem. I got this to start working really well and really smoothly. For my Bed, Ladder, and Enchantment Table textures. It means the file you are trying to open is a varient of another file e.g. acacia leaves are a varient of leaves - you need to open the original.
