Skyhunter FPV 12-22-21

The Skyhunter was long overdue for a flight, so I dusted it off and took it for a cruise! lol I decided to cut it short after noticing a small problem with the radio link. Nothing serious but wanted to play it safe with this one... ;) More to come soon!

I think most of it comes from a good solid signal (1.3GHz is so clean out here) and a good recording setup. I'm using a capture card and PC to record, in much higher bitrate and quality than any portable recorder I've found yet... lol

What a fascinating flight and video ... for just a winter trip around the field. Great to see the Skyhunter in the air again. Nice catch on the RSI. Makes important point of understanding how ones equipment works together, and knowing your equipment (ie: that something unusual, even though all appears working good) I would not have guessed an audio USB interface would be cause, but worth further investigations. Happy Holidays, and thanks for showing off some nice green fields with a blue sky. Am surprised you didn't plant a micro-santa-elf behind the camera, so would be visible when looked back. ;)

I flew my old vector two weeks ago and it did the same thing. I was using DL with the latest stable firmware. I tried updating the DL receiver revisiting all vector settings with no joy. What finally corrected the problem was to restore the Vector to factory settings, reflash the firmware and run the wizzard as if it was a new model. Then the RSSI worked perfectly. 😀

Interesting... Thanks for the heads up, might save me a bunch of time and work! lol I do seem to remember something about fixing a timing issue with the SBUS output, but I don't know if that was the stable or "next gen" firmware. I'll double check that I have the latest stable f/w on the receiver and go from there.

Awsome FPV Footage i love it especially with Headtracking movment while orbit something! I think about to build an FPV Volantex Raptor 2400 or a Skyhunter FPV 12-22-21. Do you have experience with motorglider FPV too? I also wanna build a candy-drop-module for the scouts, to have some fun. Which radio for telemetry stuff and Ardupilot do you reccoment. I stll use an old Futaaba T8FG with no telemetry. But for longrange i think it is very important.

I've had a couple of gliders, but for general motoring around like this I tend to prefer more of a traditional powered airframe. The gliders are always efficient but often not as tolerant to wind and turbulent air. I'm using the Radiomaster TX16S for my transmitter, any good OpenTX radio will be great. For long range telemetry and fixed wing, the Dragonlink is hard to beat.

Hey man, just wondering how do you manage to record aircraft audio without wind noise?

I've had the best results mounting the mic inside the fuselage. If the vibration is too much, I nest it in a bit of foam.

As far as I know they never had anything for LQ, and I doubt there will ever be any more updates with them out of business now.

Do you have a video or own the ZOHD drift? i have/had a nano talon evo, damaged tail, no parts anywhere to be found so looking for a smol fpv plane to fly around my new place. Not sure of any trustworthy sites to buy it off

I never built the Drift, don't know a lot about it really... lol Check GetFPV and RaceDayQuads, they usually stock ZOHD planes in the US.

Here I am just finishing replacing my Vectors with INAV flight controllers, thinking the Vector is now obsolete, when this video drops. You, the master of both INAV and Arduplane running a Vector?

I've always had Vectors! This particular one was a pre-order for the first batch... lol I wouldn't call myself an master of any of them though. :p I would definitely say that Vector, Arduplane, and iNav are probably my 3 favorites of the ones I've flown though, in no particular order...

I am pretty handy with INAV but i am still waiting on your setup video for Arduplane, that one has me pretty well baffled, too many settings and no reliable setup videos for the beginner.
