Thanks Wayne. Its odd because the GoPro isn't mounted on the lollipop at all, only the FPV cam is. The live feed is perfectly smooth too :/ Hoping to test it tonight if I have managed to fix the vibrating :)

I notice some vibration in this video, I guess it must be the backlash of the pan servo, I suggest you can use some eva foam between the servo and the camera platform as a damper, it doesn't increase the load very much, I have tested the load current（only 0.5A, and it's very effective, I think you can try that.

Great build, yep the auto launch was the smoothest. Probably drawing unwanted attention flying that "close" to others though. Do you think this will become your main bird now? I think you'll find it blows the Skywalker out of the water in terms of flight performance!

Yeah I was unlucky it was a busy day at the park... I only use it for test flights though so now its off to the mountains and coastline for future flights :) I can see it becoming my weapon of choice. The Skywalker flies nicely but its more of a slow cruiser... the Skyhunter seems to be able to do it all, very happy with it!

Cheers Ian :) Yeah I have been a bit worried about the cable coming out, I find it odd that the MFD stops sending back any video at all without a camera plugged in (my other AP's send back the OSD on a black background so you can still see the data). I did a lot of testing and glued it in place but not sure what else I can do. I remember you did a real professional job with your pan cable on the MTD!

+Adam G does FPV I would anchor the cable so the connector never gets pulled. Looking at your cable length it might need extending to do this. I wouldn't glue the connector in though.

If you pause the video at around 38secs you can see I have glued it to the canopy in a place that means there is enough cable to reach when fully rotated each way. It just doesn't keep out of the way nice and neatly like yours does :/

Skew is working great so far thanks. I didn't go too far for now, maybe 2km max, and of course crystal clear picture. I also did some flying behind trees with complete loss LOS... video held out pretty well considering :) Will let you know how the long range stuff goes ;)

Could you please tell me what glues you recommend for the EPO & the plastic parts for the boom...i have tested some HK glues on scrap foam & I am a little worried they are not strong enough ..! you seem to be UK Ireland based so sourcing the glues you used may be easier than other skyhunter builds in other countries ...Thank you again . Love your Videos ..Inspired me to get back into the hobby after 25 yrs away from it, done my Apprenticeship again on the HK trainstar & ASW28 Glider .I hope to have my Skyhunter ready for the summer so no rush really . Just a standard multi-purpose spray paint from my local DIY sore. I've used multiple different spray paints on EPO (none of which have been any special type) and they have all been fine. Laminating over the paint is a good idea to preserve it.

Hi, and thanks 👍🏻 Yeah I connected everything through the MPX connectors, aileron servos, elevator servo, vtx & receiver. Never had an issue with them wearing out, pugging and unplugging each time you fly or store it away won't be enough to wear these out i'd say. Cheers

I've never tried pushing this to it's limit, furthest i've been in 17km (on my old crosshair antenna) and I only turned round due to the battery, I'd been flying in many different directions rather than straight out. Yeah the HD jello I solved, check out my later Skyhunter videos

Great video! Question on build. If you were to build this again would you chose the Matek F722 Wing with iNav or the MyFlyDream Autopilot as you have used here?

Hi Sam, this is a good question! I love both AP's and they both have pros and cons. I think that the Matek board is a better and more modern FC. My only concern is that I still find it hard to get iNav to perform exactly how I want it to and make it 100% reliable. iNav is always improving though. The MFD is a solid and extremely reliable performer with very little config which is what i love the most about it. I think now I might have gone for the Matek and put more time into getting it to work well, because I can't really justify the cost of the MFD any more. Hope this helps.

The MFD comes with the GPS and current sensor plus other accessories. You have to add the airspeed sensor as an optional extra. If you're willing to spend the money then you'll love the performance of the MFD out of the box. It's a lot easier to use than iNav. If you're not getting on well with iNav then I would recommend the MFD :)

I would say yes purely on the fact that it can carry a much larger payload. My Skywalker is full carrying 10amp, but carrying a 16a lipo in the Skyhunter with tons of room left over, could easily fit over double that

Just the way the foam reacted. Maybe too much heat... not sure. It's smooth to the touch though :) Good luck with the maiden mate.

How do you like MFD ? I ordered one to test ( also the station and tracker... basically whole set :D ) I'm used to fly with Vector, so I'm curious how they compare... and the auto lunch was super smooth ! :D

Hey, first of all, I have to mention that I have never used the Vector, so i cannot compare properly. However, I can say that I have seen the Vecotr OSD (and although fully editable) i prefer the clear design of the MFD. In terms of control, the MFD works flawlessly on my Skyhunter, I really like the flight modes, they all work well and make sense. LAUNCH mode is a big bonus for me, takes any stress out of getting the plane in the air, and again, it works perfectly every time. The AAT is also a great bit of kit. when combined with the MFD AP life is simple. You power up the AAT, then power up your plane. When it gets 10 sats, home is automatically set... you throw the plane and everything just works. So its as simple as turn it on and throw it! From what i hear the Vector is very user friendly to wire up... whereas the MFD is not so. Just be careful of the polarity of each connection! Hope this helps

I've been interested in fpv, but haven't done it due to the, perceived by me, steep learning curve. I recently purchased a budget setup for line of site fpv. If I like it as well as I think I will, I know I will be interested in something similar to what you have. Do you have a list showing your equipment on this plane? I looked for a video and didn't see one. Are you using a similar setup as the one shown in your long range skywalker video? Maybe I will figure this stuff out. ;) Nice videos. I subscribed.

I guess the plane all up around £800ish. links to all the parts in the desc. so wouldn't be too hard to work it out. Tested to 17km and still working well. Could definitely go a fair bit further if I wanted to

@@AdamGdoesFPV I've build my own scratch built skyhunter with 1500mm wingspan and 200mm chord and covered in fiberglass, my all up weight excluding motor, prop and esc is 1450gm with 3s2p pack so how much thrust would i need for long endurance flying?
