Rick Pewe, our resident guru of all things Jeep, caught up with Skyjacker Suspension’s co-founder Lonnie McCurry at the 2023 SEMA show to take a deep dive into the company's first 50 years. From humble beginnings in their backyard, Lonnie and wife Nell launch Lonnie Mcurry’s 4-Wheel Drive Center in 1974, but they knew they hit the big time when they built a small cinder block shop with concrete floors and electricity.
Their passion for off-road sports and mud racing was the catalyst, but they contend it has been their relationship with Jesus Christ that has led them to be an international name in the suspension game. Their family owned and operated company now has three generations running the show, employs 50 people, and operates from a modern 80,000-foot facility in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Lonnie and Nell’s principled determination is admirable, and their hard work and successes exemplify what can be achieved when you chase the American dream. Our hat’s are off to this dynamic duo.
