I had a '46 CJ2A years ago. It was even the same color as this one. Wish I still had it.

Speaking of Rusty floors… I had a 49 Willys overland wagon with a 327 Chevy V8. One night, my friends and I took the truck to an underground party in the warehouse district. When we went to leave I turned the ignition key on and there is a large explosion and flames shot through the rusty floorboards into the interior. It was pretty dramatic, we were stomping out the flames on the interior while people were pouring beer into the engine compartment to extinguish the flames. The hood was blown off. It turns out that there was a plastic fuel filter that made contact With the hot exhaust manifold. Turning the key made a spark in the starter which caused the gasoline to ignite. I had to replace the wiring in the engine compartment and repaint my hood, but otherwise the truck fared well considering. That was 43 years ago and I still miss that truck and the great memories that came along with it. It was my first car. I now have a garage full of tools and fair wrenching skills. What guy doesn’t dream about having a do over with their first car.

If you prefer, the mute button makes all of that pesky talking go away. Next time, we won't find and interview the people involved in these builds and just post a slide show of photos with some elevator music to not overstimulate you.

I have some Skyjacker Hydro 7000s on my CJ7 and they give it a nice ride on street. I’ve got a question you may be able to help with. I’m trying to bring my 85 CJ7 Base model back to stock height. Which set of leaf springs should I buy for the softest ride? Omix Ada 18201.11 front (6 Leaf) 18202.11 rear (6 Leaf) 18201.10 front (5 Leaf) 18202.10 rear (4 Leaf) Crown Automotive J5363229 front (4 Leaf) J5363331 Rear (6 Leaf)
@Gone_Gpn25 күн бұрын
Hey Nathan, we don't have personal experience with the Omix or Crown springs you mention. Unfortunately, Omix used to have tons of old new-stock, but it was sold when the company was purchased by the current owner. Short of Omix or Crown, you might call Deaver Springs. We've had them make custom springs to our specs many times, and they do a great job.

That last party trick where you pull the steering wheel out and can drive it walking is just the coolest design. It’s like a really early motorized pallet jack so you can load it full of stuff and not have to sacrifice cargo room with the seat.
