There was just something special about going to stores and hunting down the Skylanders, I remember playing trap team and wanting Wallop but everywhere I’d go I just couldn’t find it, then one day when I was at one of my local retail stores I casually walked by the Skylander isle and saw there was literally one left on the shelf and I snagged it up so fast 😂

Maybe we can have the best of both narrative and collective aspects of the game. Have this amazing deep interactive story with animations and stuff, but you can still collect a whole series of individual characters to experiment the build with. A skill branch here and a component shop there, and hello Skylanders 2025🎉🎉🎉

We saw how quickly the market became over saturated with figures, Skylanders basically starved itself to death after the third game. Toys to life needs to stay in the past, give the Skylanders franchise a chance to stand as video game first and figure collection second.

@@MaxmaPikachu while thats true the solution is to make a new game using the trap team portal so you can still use every skylander before and all the traps and villains as well as keeping skystones as well as bringing in new mechanics that doesn't require new skylanders like maybe a racing minigame that you don't need the supercharger cars to use but you can if you want? or like what they did in sonic and the secret ring and made a multiplayer mode with minigames like skystones and others. Then all the figures can be used new ones will be sold from all the games and some new ones that aren't needed and are optional and still having the option to make custom skylanders with the imaginator crystals?

@@GRXKZ While those sound cool, I’ve always thought of a new skylander game mixing things up with the level-to-skylander relationship beyond that of elemental gates. Wouldn’t it be really cool if a theoretical Skylanders 7 came out with a new batch of figures that each had their OWN personalized variant of each stage? They could even explain it in a cool way, like this new team of skylanders gained the ability to create alternate dimensions out of thin air or something like that. What do you think? I’m really hoping we get a seventh game with a cool identity and gimmick.

Skylanders was great through Trap Team, but it became so expensive. You needed new Skylanders for every game, and even though they gave you new ones with every pack, if you wanted to access certain things you needed to purchase so many.

Ironically SuperChargers, the 5th game, and the one to come after Trap Team, is the least expensive game to 100% out of all of them, and Trap Team is the most expensive - requiring the most amount of figures

you didnt really need that many, for trap team you only needed 10, both dark and light darks masters and at least on of the 2 of the other 8 elements, so only 10, and for swap force you just needed one of each element and terrain

There was rumors that potential scripts were submitted for the series. And that they were actually making moves to revive the franchise. Nothing official that I could find but the rumors were very consistent and seemed to have a lot of weight behind them. Especially since they pretty much just came out of nowhere and didn’t have any real reason to spread.

I remembered when I first got Skylanders. I had moved into my own apartment in March 2012, and it was days after my Dad and I were reunited. In a form of small celebration, my Dad and stepmom came over and gave me a "Housewarming" gift: A light blue Nintendo Wii that's a special "Skylander Giants" edition, with a Giant Skylander figure. After I played a few levels, I got hooked. And needless to say, I got some figures of my liking, one of each element! My favorites so far are Whirlwind, Sunburn, Spyro, Cynder, SonicBoom and Ninjini. I have some more, but I don't know where I last saw them. Had them packed up before the renovations of the apartment last year, but I'll keep an eye open for them. I wish they brought Skylanders back, and had MORE cameo characters included into the game, like Sly Cooper!

Skylanders Giants is my favorite game of all time, I own every single figure and item usable within the game and even collected all figures twice so i can use every upgrade path. I‘m a grown adult, but I would shed genuine tears if they were to ever remake this game.

I used to have probably hundreds of these figures as a kid, I remember I even had various special variants for some characters too. I remember my mom made me give them away once I reached a certain age. Now that I'm older, I wish I still had them, funny how that works.

I wouldn't even care if the toys to life thing wasn't reused. I love Skylanders so much and I would love to see it come back. While the toys to life aspect made it unique, compared to some games, I felt it was a bit limiting. This is true in later games like Trap Team, where you require the Trapmaster to open up the elemental gates or Superchargers, requiring different vehicles for certain optional zones.

Now this is a old one. Skylanders was one of my first ever games, and as a result, I've played every single game. (I think) My favourite was... I think his name was drobot? Yeah drobot. Ngl I really miss this franchise. I played every game from giants to imaginators (trap team is definitely my favorite followed by giants) and the amount of fun I had playing this as a kid was worth every dime I spent on skylanders figures (probably wayyyyy too much cause I kept collecting them for literal years buying one or two every time we went to the shopping mall). Monetarily speaking I am glad skylanders is no more but I'd really love to replay the games sometime just for nostalgia's sake and if they ever revived it I would definitely give it a chance. I don't believe I'd enjoy it as much as I used to but I have too many fond memories of these games to not pour at least a couple hours in.
