I would of used mastic tape on the bottom of the new skylight ,then ran a bead of silocone around after it was all tightened down just to be safe. good vid and thanks for sharing. :)

+Chris Wokes Thanks for the advice, I'm personally not a big fan of silicone it barely stands up to domestic applications let alone automotive. But when you're familiar with a product whatever works best for you is what matters.

Hey mate is this still holding up? I've been told I should be using mastic or butyl tape for this kinda job. Me heart is broken trying to get the camper water tight😫

It’s been parked for a long time in recent years. Some water has got in but I think that was just through the louvred vents during extreme weather. I’ll be doing some work on the van soon. If I discover anything about it I’ll let you know.

Yes not a fan of silicone sealant for sealing caravans/motor homes. Far better to use the flexible non setting compounds .

Tiger seal is a fantastic sealant , but dont try to remove what you have repaired with it lol
