Gary Dixon GTR quick question when you fitted front mount lot of surface rust did you tidy that up since? And how much were the indicators from nissan?
@dickoR337 жыл бұрын
Micheal Kirwan I oiled it on the day and in the winter I plan on going back and grinding it out and treating it when I have more time. The indicators were £90 delivered.

Thanks for this video. I need to do this on my GTST :(
@666Hazard6666 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video Gary. I noticed water in the boot of my GTST and had no idea where it was coming from. Will be doing this when the weather gets better. I heard that the rear lights can be an issue too.. Is there a fix you know of for that if that's also the case?
@dickoR336 жыл бұрын
Danny Finch a common misconception is that it's the rear lights, my gtst leaked so after searching forums it pointed to the lights. After resealing them twice with no joy I noticed the panel seam in video, sealed that and it was perfect also my gtr and my dad's all fixed with the seam seal so in my case it was 3 for 3. I would suggest the seam first to try because it's alot easier to do and should sort it. The rear lights in my case were a pain to get out because they were so gunked on with sealer, not sure weather that was from factory or some else had a ago before me thou. Also since fixing the seam seal my passanger indicator used to get water in but now doesn't. I hope this simple fix sorts your problem because I know how frustrating a leak can be.

Many thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go and see where we go from there. The factory sunroof started letting water in too.. Going to be a bit more of a task to get that one right I think.. Still wouldn't be without it though.

Danny Finch No problem I hope you get it sorted. I have had no experience with sun roof issues as I never been lucky enough to have one in a skyline lol. If you do fix the sun roof though maybe do a video as no doubt others have an issue. Yeah every type of car has issues it's when they don't really bother you that you know you love the car if that makes sense.
@666Hazard6666 жыл бұрын
absolutely. The R33's been my dream car since I was 12.. so 20 years now. I was lucky enough to find a 40th anniversary recent import that had been garaged for 6 months since importing. Took her to JAE last year but that was the only show I could get to sadly. Going in this month for the timing belt, alternator refurb and mot. wish me luck lol

Really useful video, have to do this to my R33 at some point, I also have to reseal the O/S tail light too. Can I ask what did you use to clean up the panels and what sealer did you use?
@dickoR337 жыл бұрын
Rolling Wheels UK I used general dirt remover and then cellulose thinners to make sure all the contamination was gone before sealing with Tiger seal polyurethane adhesive sealant, which you can get from Amazon. For the underside of the panels I just used a rust treater and the greased it up as it hidden behind the inner boot trim. It's rained alot and heavy at times since doing this and my boot is totally dry.

Gary Dixon GTR Thanks for the reply will look into getting some of that stuff so that i can make my car water tight again. roughly how long did it take you to do it all?
@dickoR337 жыл бұрын
Rolling Wheels UK 45 mins should be plenty of time. The sealer comes in black, white and grey colour choice.
@RollingWheelsUK7 жыл бұрын
Gary Dixon GTR that's not too bad of a time frame to do it in then thanks for your help appreciate the reply

Hello quick question where the panels overlap is there an area under that, that may have rust or is it just what you can see?
@dickoR335 жыл бұрын
The overlap is not big at all but I did soak some rust eater down there before sealing the top and the bottom is always open to keep an eye on it if need be .

Not sure if you still have the car but how did this hold up in the long run? Wondering to remove the old before applying new. Cheers.
