The Ultimate BMW Start/Stop Engine Button Install Guide 2020. M4 M3 F82 F80 F30

Today my BMW F82 M4 is going to get some street cred. I'm going to install a red Start/Stop engine button on the ignition switch to give the interior a more sporty look, and I'm going to show you how to install it.
Install directions work for BMW F30 F80 F82 series cars.

THE TRIM TOOL KIT I ORDERED FROM AMAZON

TOOLS YOU WILL NEED.
1: Trim Tool
2: Small/micro flathead screwdriver or pick.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS.
STEP 1: Remove the Start/Stop Engine button assembly.
STEP 2: Disconnect the Start/Stop Engine button from the connector.
STEP 3: Remove the back of the switch housing.
STEP 4: Remove the OEM Start/Stop Engine button.
STEP 5: Replace the OEM Start/Stop Engine button with the RED aftermarket button.
STEP 6: Replace the back of the switch housing..
STEP 7: Reconnect the Start/Stop Engine button assembly to it’s connector.
STEP 8: Replace the Start/Stop Engine button assembly.
STEP 9: Start the car and make sure it functions as normal.
Enjoy your new Start/Stop Engine button and give the car a good rip!

Best way to do it, 3m tape, stick on the button and give it a yank. Press new button in and you're done, takes 5 seconds and you don't have to worry about breaking anything. I have seen where they sell a whole new switch with the red button pre-installed, but its like $120....

No need. Just pull the switch and replace the button.
