Three things: 1. I COMPLETELY forgot the overhealer was an official weapon concept so the first two attributes I talk about are actually related to the Overhealer and not the Kritzkreig, but at least I got a tongue twister out of it. 2. Attribute 148 is NOT related to the Eureka Effects ability that reduces teleporter cost in half. That stat was added later in the Eureka Effects life (3 years later) and is, in fact, linked to attribute 790, which specifies only teleporters having their cost decreased. 3. Please ignore the bunny running around in some of the footage. That was a mod for Easter that I kept forgetting to remove.

Whats neat with the Flame retardant suit was that they actually had voice lines for the Spy when he's burned while wearing the suit. Its funny because he doesn't sound concern when he's burning. "I do believe I am on fire..."

13:37 Oh boy, another one! Okay, swords DID exist and they DID have this functionality, but until ID 781 was added,, the game's database never described that they were swords and have longer range. The only purpose of 781 is to just add that they were swords the description. It was long overdue, and I'm glad Valve added it.

Airblast destroying projectiles... is an upside? You're losing out on possible damage. Might be useful to prevent self-damage or kill stickies, but that still feels more of a neutral attribute then a positive one.

Maybe it was meant a a buff to the Phlogistinator. That thing's downside is beyond crippling in coordinated play, so the dev team attempting to find a middle ground by allowing it to burn away projectiles makes sense.

About those set bonuses at 16:09 489: Pyro's Gas Jockey Gear gave 10% more movement when the weapons were used with the hat. 490: Medic's Medieval Medic gave him +1 health regen when Amputator and Crusader's Crosbow were equiped. 491: Heavy's Hibernating Bear set gave heavy 5% Crit resist. 492: Demoman's Expert's Ordnance gave him 10% reduced damage from fire. (Only set bonuses from polycount update required the hat with the weapons) All of the set bonuses were removed in The Summer Event 2013. Mecha Update was released in December 2012 I think the tf-team just added these set stats to the weapon attributes list, and thats why you can see them there at that time.Wonder where the rest of the set bonuses are located in the list (Scout, Soldier, Sniper and Spy)

Maybe the "Is a Sword" Attribute was intended for the Scotsman Skullcutter since it's the only Demo melee that has a longer range, but doesn't really have a sheathing delay nor a no random crits tag. Then forgot to apply it and went on to make some other stuff.

"Hard hit" could potentially be an explosive attribute of some sort, where crits are dealt if you hit the enemy with the projectile itself rather than the explosion. This could have been for soldier rockets, demoman grenades, and pyro rounds, like scorch shots, flare guns, and detonators. Though it's understandable why it was removed, since those who are able to hit body shots and those like myself who can barely get collateral damage are leagues from each other, so it would give skilled players an even greater advantage over new ones.

Attribute #871 (stun enemies when you land) is used as an MvM upgrade for the Pyro with equipped Thermal Thruster. If it wasn't overshadowed by the Gas Passer's Explode on Ignite upgrade, the Thermal Thruster would be used more often, as it can even stun Uber Medics.

Heavy should have gotten the speed up shotgun. Or the speed up mini gun. When doing damage to your target gain a 3 second speed boost. Less damage then regular minigun/shotgun.

Just gonna say a few things here to help you understand some things better: 13:28 This was just used as an easy way for the giger counter to use special inspect animations instead of the generic secondary inspect animation before Jungle Inferno came out. It no longer serves any purpose, but it was used as a quick fix in the past. 13:35 This attribute was added in Tough Break for every item that has this attribute to have a longer deploy and holster time as well as an easy way to add that flavor text. (Sword melee range is hard coded in the weapon's data files aka tf_weapon_sword.ctx, so this attribute doesn't modify it. However, weapons that don't have the increased range such as tf_weapon_bat, for example, gets the increased range.) 15:41 These attributes were for what class in the order that is shown: 489: Set Bonus Move Speed: Pyro's Gas Jockey Gear 490: Set Bonus Health Regen: Medic's Medieval Medic 491: Set Bonus Crit Resistance: Heavy's Hibernating Bear (This attribute is used for MvM's crit resistance upgrade) 492: Set Bonus Fire Damage Resistance: Demoman's Expert Ordnance 16:16 Not gonna say anything with 100% confirmation on this, but this could also be used to balance the Baby Face's Blaster, as they both share the same system. 16:44 This is a good find. Seemed to be stats for a weapon that are meant to be thrown (internally called tf_projectile_throwable. I speculate that bread was actually going to be throwable as there's also unused animations for this that I have documented myself). Random Fun Fact: Bread Monsters that latch onto enemy heads are named tf_projectile_throwable_breadmonster! There's also tf_projectile_throwable_brick, which... ouch, that must hurt. I have no idea what tf_projectile_throwable_repel is, but all of these projectiles behave like demoman's pipebombs in terms of physics. 19:17 Grenades1, Grenades2, Grenades3 are all ammo types that every class share. 845 is actually used with the Gas Passer, not the Sandvich. This is so the Gas Passer doesn't get recharged upon resupply, keeping their build over time gimmick relevant. (Grenades1 is what every weapon that has a one use and is rechargeable use with the exception of scout secondaries, which use Grenades2. Grenades3 is infinite ammo, which is what the energy weapons use as well as the halloween spellbook.) 19:46 This is used for the Thermal Thruster in MvM. 20:10 The Classic uses this. This actually is an attribute to make enemies gib upon any kill from weapons with this attribute. Still though, really neat job! I like this video! It's always nice to see others dig into TF2's attributes and explore the unused contents themselves, haha :3

It's REALLY interesting hearing all of these and figuring out that these are what the Uber Upgrades servers use for customized upgrades. Also, the Thruster Stun is one of the Thermal Thruster's two MvM upgrades. It's actually pretty powerful, but WAY over-shadowed by the Gas Passer.

Not gonna lie, I straight up forgot the Eureka Effect has a stat other than teleporting to spawn or a teleporter. Regardless that was added later in the weapons life and specifies teleporters only. That specific attribute is 790. The one mentioned in the video is broad and states buildings in general. They're unrelated.

781 is likely just to add the description to the weapon as grey text since they didn't want to go through editing old attributes Additionally crits vs non burning players on a flamethrower sounds very effective against enemy pyros It also potentially could've been for a very early W.I.P. sun on a stick Also, what's the names of the Mann vs Machine maps you played on?

What about a pda that replaces teleporters with a mobile cart? +Can carry up to 4 characters +Has 250 hp -Only the vehicle owner can drive it +(Drives as fast as a fully charged bfb scout) - replaces teleporters -+ the cart does a small amount of damage and knock back on enemy impact - users can't cap or take the Intel with the cart - users are restricted using ranged weapons on the cart. -sharp turns can cause the cart to flip and be unusable. - can't build buildings on cart. -25% building speed.

There's also an unused condition that allows you to disguise as an enemy dispenser by crouching. There was also a brief bug where the gunslinger built smaller, cheaper dispensers, indicating they considered mini-dispensers as well as mini-sentries.

354 may also have been related to the holiday punch since that will always crit on someone wearing the weapon as well, so they may have switched stun to crit as the trigger for making the person lau gh

I've played around with the flame size/flame life and charged airblast attributes using TF2Items extension back in the day. Hilarity such as setting people on fire from around corners ensued. Also, yes, 415 was indeed the attribute attached to the ballonicorn (and other similar wearable items that would be listed with "assist") when in provision, and wins the award for funniest attribute name

I remember because that was the downside that made me realize that a weapon being an unlock didn't necessarily mean it was better. 13:04 If I recall correctly, when the High-Five taunt was originally added, it would automatically exit after a few seconds unless you held the action button down (this was back before the addition of the taunt menu, when taunts were action slot items) 13:54 I this might've actually been intended to be an attribute for the Holiday Punch, since I seem to remember that once upon a time the Holiday Punch used to have guaranteed crits against other Holiday Punch users.

small error here in 5:30, tribute 49 was used by the sandman on release, it's even advertised in the scout update page "Now the bad news: You can't double jump when you're carrying this little beauty. On the other hand, double jumping never put anybody in a coma."

Number 13, I recognised those stats as the unreleased Overhealer 489 or 492 may have been for the BFB set because its both a speed centered set and the original PBPP had a fire weakness

341 has actually been used in a workshop weapon, but has the downside of not completely blocking the stab, causing fairly major damage. It’s a very interesting secondary concept.

49: No double jump related to the FaN. When the FaN came out, it took away the ability to double jump due to the ability to shoot and have some knockback

15:37 attribute 489 is for the big five with the gas jockey, a degreaser and a power jack gave pyro +10% speed bonus with the down side of a +10% bullet vulnerability. For 490 it’s was for the medieval medic with the crusaders crossbow and amputator it gave a +1 health region. 491 with the brass beast, buffalo steak sandwich, and warriors spirit a useless +5% crit resistance, finally 492 loch-n-load and ulapool caber bonus was a whopping +10% fire resistance for some reason. In my opinion it would have been better to have all the set bonus attributes in one bundle.

16:45 Demoman in QWTF and TFC had a detpack as well. Which allowed Demoman to place a bomb that you could set the times of detonation to I believe 3 set times ( I believe it was 15, 15 and 45 seconds I believe? It's been a while... )... Maybe they were planning on bringing it back?

the "Is a Sword" attribute was i THINK a Gun Mettle thing, where they remade all of Demo's "Heavy" melee weapons ( the Claymore, the Eyelander, Persian Persuader) so that they were homogenized with the slow swap-in and swap-out but long range)

That overheal one at the beginning sounds like the scrapped overhealer weapon I've heard about. The increased fire range attribute has seen use, incidentally, in the canteen crasher custom enemy Pressurized Pyro. It's possible they had existing downsides in mind for that theoretical disguise kit -- there was an old downside that increased time to cloak on iirc the saharan spy set. Maybe that was planned for use? Or does that not fit the time frame? Finally, that 845 might mean the game treats throwable lunchbox items as projectiles, and didn't want pyros to be able to reflect them or otherwise modify their flight path.

One way that you could balance the flame proof suit for spy is, it could soak up all flame damage , about around 100, and the flames just bounce off, but once 100 damage is dealt of fire damage, the suit will break, and will have to reacharge

#98 might have referred to the misfire mechanic for the Beggar's Bazooka. Though, the Beggar's Bazooka was added 3 years later in the Pyromania update. Perhaps this was when the Beggar's was in its early stages?

The gunslinger doesn't have a cost reduction stat because it just replaces the sentry outright. Just so happens the mini-sentry is cheaper but no stat is really needed for that. Perhaps that cost reduction stat was intended to be for the teleporters before they just got cheaper to build, although the name implies a cost reduction for all buildings.

my scout weapon: the wiffler +10% extra speed when on user (does not need to be out) crits when landing after double jumping (does not need to be out) no random crits can't double jump unless melee is out

The "below belt level" one strikes me as some sort of "gag" weapon like the fish, that would be scout needing to crouch to quite literally hit them "below the belt" Jonny Cage style

The Beta Medigun healed slower and did not have Overheal, and was in the game since 2007 so it most likely was that stat: wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Medi_Gun_Beta_1 Maybe an early Warriors Spirit? They are only a melee for fists and give back health.

What weapons that need a buff: - BRASS BEAST - STEAK SANDVICH - EVICTION NOTICE -Gru (they should add 30% more damage on wearer and remove health drain, or do -7 HP per sec like In Hale servers) - BABY FACE BLASTER - Caber (it should be throwable and get a cool down of 10 seconds every time it explodes crits become minicrits and make explosion radius 150%) - the classic (does minicrits headshots untill fully charged)
