SKYND seriously deserves more recognition for their music and art. Everything they do is incredible!
@filmnmusic19 ай бұрын
Agreed. I am mostly into bands that started during the 90’s, but SKYND is the best recent artist I have come across. Her music is dark, but it’s not just dark for the sake of being dark like some other bands. I think it’s noble for her to expose the insanity and depravity that mankind is capable of, because too many people have a naive, child like understanding of the world.

@@keirfarnum6811 The irony is that while Skynd doesn't glorify said topics, some people in the comments section at every song Skynd posted glorify hiding the truth under the veneer of "because it's disrespectful to make profit off of something." The people glorify ignorance and moral grandstanding so they can go about their jolly lives completely oblivious to the dangers Skynd has been portraying in their music - that the biggest danger of them all is ourselves. In this case, the blind lead the blind unto the chaos and will continue to do so under the pretense of "not following the crowd", while the rest of us that understand why Skynd still makes money while showing respect to the source material continue to learn more and enjoy the music for what it is and what it's saying.

I've long wondered how Skynd would handle such a topic and group of people, especially as Heaven's Gate is perceived as one of the more (if not the most) sympathetic cults to come out of that era. I love how the 80's touches aren't too heavy handed, given how easy it would be to use as a musical crutch. Father is so great at balancing sounds. This sounds (and looks) like a blend of Michelle Carter and Jim Jones, which is a very interesting and rather apt direction to take. I don't think the vocals are quite as catchy as the previous songs, but there is a chilling impact in this one that I don't think I've heard for a while.

Excellent song and video where absurdity and reality collide. Where you want to laugh at the very idea of such a cult leader and the events alleged to have occurred could even happen but knowing that it did and does happen. I remember a lot of the news surrounding this and thinking at the time that all of it had to be a complete hoax and then also remembered the Jim Jones thing and realized that as silly and contrived as some of the facts seemed to be the reality and truth of those facts are what contained the potency. It is why I caution people not to immediately believe that all media of fiction is actually fiction just because someone tells you it is.

Mass suicide, not mass murder. It was completely voluntary unlike say, Jonestown. People were completely free to leave at anytime (which is noted as unique), and people did leave with no issue and the cost like bus tickets, would be paid for. The website is ran by multiple HG members who stayed alive.
