Israel-Hamas war: Fake conflict videos viewed millions of times on social media

False videos, pictures and information have sprung up on social media since Hamas's deadly attack on Israel last weekend which sparked retaliation strikes on the Gaza Strip.
Fireworks displays, excerpts from video games and clips posted months ago are among the false material seen and shared by millions of people on sites like X, formerly Twitter, and TikTok, purporting to show scenes from the conflict.

Back when Ukraine sent panic across the world early last year, my dad was hooked on watching news updates of events in Ukraine, like how far have the Russians advanced, what town has been taken, planes being shot down, etc (especially on channels like Al Jazeera). My dad watched a lot of fake videos of soldiers fighting in first person and plane radars shooting ground vehicles, which were actually filmed through Arma 3 gameplay. And he, and old fellow, fell for it. I convinced him that it looked animated with the first-person view, and he said it was the bodycam. Told him the graphics looked way less than reality, and he argued it was the video quality. Glad I'm not the only one seeing people scammed through Arma 3.

May I remind Sky News about that little incident in London where Emma Birchley's cameraman (the one with the white beard, gold tooth and backwards baseball cap) and accomplice (short dark hair and glasses) were caught on video pushing members of a protest into a police line in order to provoke a violent response to film. Then later when approached about that incident the same cameraman was filmed accusing the person who compiled that footage of making death threats. Lovely wholesome bunch at Sky.
