Exit polls predict that Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally party has failed to win the French parliamentary election.
They had won the first round of voting - and were widely predicted to win the second round.
But they appear to have been beaten into third place by a left-green coalition.

Care to explain why the "far left" are so bad? People say tend to say "the far left and far right are equally extreme" and just leave it there, from what I've seen the far left simply want to expand workers' rights, increase taxes on the rich and use those taxes to pay for social services while the far right want to literally overthrow democracy like Le Pen's plan to dissolve the French parliament and give herself total control if she becomes president and Trump's Project 2025

Not at all. His own camp has melted. We're back to a strong left/right divide, after Macron's big ambition to overcome it. Taking a wild gamble that finally didn't result in a complete disaster, that's not a good move. That's randomness, and a classic post hoc fallacy when over interpreting the results.

Far right means a focus on race or other minorities….. So when a political party says “North Africans shouldn’t be able to hold positions of power in France” they are showing they are far right. That’s not the media’s fault for sticking to definitions no matter how much the far right want to lose their label.

Far right doesn't exist. The NSDAP were Socialist with a concern of Bolshevism (which were 90% Judaic) and the Bolsheviks (90% Judaic) ended 10 million Rus Christians. @gejuje in fairness I perceive this remark as a response to the oddity of the situation. Last week, the vote was leaning largely right wing, and now the situation has changed and is leaning left. So, from that assessment. The quote from the movie makes sense as the actions taken in a short amount of time by electorate has created a confusing situation for the political establishment, ie this does not make sense like the theft stealing the goods and then throwing them away rather the using them for there worth.

I think this may be the state of france for a while: three major factions all occupying distinct places on the political spectrum. This coalition will likely fight over many policy decisions and the french will have to deal with a soft political deadlock.

First, it was the Brits that decided that everything they dislike about how Britain was going should continue by electing a far left government. Now the French are doing the same. When they both start whining about how their countries are changing, it will be hard not to laugh at the irony.

Even though it is a bitter pill to swallow for The National Rally, they are the party with the most seats in the National Assembly. When the NR seats are taken together with another Right of Center party, Les Republicains, the parties on the Right have the most seats. The vote totals of these two parties taken together is a larger than the National Front vote total.
