The Met Police made the right call here, of course. But this man’s point is still valid. The point is: any Pro-Palestine protester can walk through a Pro-Israel protest and will be unharmed. But anyone supporting Israel or visibly jewish walking through a Pro-Palestine protest can expect the looming threat of violence at best, or actual violence at worst. The Police are all too aware of that, and that is why they made the right call here, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore what this man is trying to convey. The lawsuit may not go very far but this person’s message should.

In case this comment is not meant to be a joke, I would say this: Those cops do what's easier for them. It maintains the law and order dictated by those criminals. It should not be like that. I think it's standard procedure to keep opposing groups separate at protests, it's obvious why, the police were preventing a worse situation. I don't really see this as anything new or surprising. His views are well known and approaching the group of protesters as closely as he wanted to was to aggrevate the situation, it was not an innocent stroll he wanted to approach them for a purpose. The right to protest exists in this country, interfering with that isn't cool. The right thing to do would have been to organise a counter-protest, I'm sure the police would probably try to stop pro-palestine individuals from approaching too closely to such a protest, as is sensible, to avoid a mass brawl

@@DavidVreeland-tr1dv Yeah I agree an openly Jewish man should be allowed to attend a pro-Palestine protest and the other way round. However, he is a very well known hardline pro-Israeli figure, maybe the police knew who he was and that came into it. Maybe the protesters knew who he was and reacted to him, which may have caused the police to do what they did. It's a bit like stopping Tommy Robinson from attending a BLM march. Maybe in an isolated way it would seem ok, but given more context it would be obvious to most that it is a provokation. What isn't clear in alot of the video is that he turned up with his own film crew and bodyguards. He knew what the response would be because it is standard procedure, then cries about mistreatment, he isn't hurt, he's happy that this, it has given him a platform to promote himself and his views.

Please watch the entire video and note that the police officer engages politely and offers to find another route across the road and to accompany Mr Falter. Anyone who has been on or seen a demonstration in London will have seen that the police will try to separate plainly opposing groups. Also to ensure that marchers keep to the agreed route and away from traffic. When I went on marches we made a point of talking in a friendly way to police officers and this civility was returned. I was not on this march but have been on many others. In my experience at no point did anyone on a march I took part in or observed try to stop people joining or leaving that march or pausing to sit and rest. There were usually gaps when other pedestrians could easily cross over. Organisers of marches spoke beforehand to the police and if an officer gave us instructions we followed these. (Usually these were about traffic and avoiding accidents.) We respected the fact that the police were AT WORK and doing a job they do know about. London's estimated population is about 9.7 million people. Balancing everyone's rights is not simple.

He didn't advise him. He didn't warn him that it may not be a good idea. He threatened to arrest him for "being openly Jewish". I wasn't aware that we had legislated The Nuremberg Racial Purity Laws in the UK. In fact,if I remember correctly,we fought a long, economically crushing and very bloody war in order to prevent this kind of thing happening in our country. Now,if any of these flag-wavers feel as passionate about their cause as my Grandad did about British freedom they can do what he did. They can enlist to fight for Palestine and make a difference. Because they're not making any difference here. All of this is as effective as a woke social media post. They're just getting in everyone's way. They do this so that they can feel like they're doing something whilst achieving absolutely nothing. If they felt that strongly they'd do what British men did during the Spanish Civil War. They'd put their money where their mouths are and go over there to fight.

Gideon Falter resides at Prince Albert Road, London NW1 7SN, where there are 10 synagogues nearby. However, he chooses to walk for an hour to reach to a demonstration site, then decides to walk in the middle of the crowed in the opposite direction of the flow of movement to attend a synagogue. Who does that? Besides, none of their wedding photos show any kippah on their heads. Gideon is a trustee of the Jewish National Fund for Israel, essentially a Zionist trust fund since 1939. Especially given that the police officer offered him a low risk solution to help him to go about his business? I've also read today that he said he would "continue to attend these protests", which of course implies that he really was there to stir up trouble in the first place, and not there randomly.

If only all our police were of the same quality seen here. Shame upon those dimwitted and ignorant players on other media platforms that have criticised this officer for being insensitive; idiots.

If the road is blocked, walk round. Carnivals, roadworks, marches, cycle events - they all block roads. Would Gideon have insisted on walking across the road had it been cordened off for roadworks or a cycle event?

People say that the officer should be reprimanded, I think he is incredibly patient and polite. How much time and man power was wasted on this joker, if anyone should charged with anything then how about the joker being charged with wasting police time ! What an absolute TOOL !!! 🙄

Disgraceful that he is trying to get the policeman sacked just for having better judgment and protecting him from his own reckless intent.

Braverman was Home Secretary when she offended a Holocaust survivor. She was also Home Secretary when she called the marches ‘hate marches’. Why wasn’t she sacked?

He wanted to cross the street, and in a normal democratic state, he should have the right to do that, unfortunately, the radical muslim have already started to take over Europe. Calling Jews "trouble makers" only shows that antisemtisem still exists and on the rise in 2024, only proves that the Jews need and independent and free state - Israel.
