From the pope's comments, he seemed to be happy that people of different faiths could set aside their respective biases to sit around a common table to dialogue. I don't know what he meant by "every religion is a way to arrive at God" if he was translated accurately that is, but I think it is obvious that every religion is an attempt to know and commune with God and so in that way is a perceived path. That is me, but I'm yet to properly digest the statement in its context. Also, I think, it should be noted that he didn't say that "every religion is like a different language", as widely reported in the press. He said, according to his translator that, "EACH OF US is a language, so to speak, to arrive at God". Each person, not each religion, which speaks of a personal journey than of their religion. It appears though that the video is edited, I'll look for an unedited one to see how these three points are strung together. As so often is the case, he might just be taken in the wrong way by interested forces both to engender animosity against the Catholic Church as well as further the cause of indifferentism. We'll see.
