@ickster232 жыл бұрын
@@simonharris4873 He does employ a bit of theatre, but that point is irrelevant when compared to the fact that "real journalists" were not covering the events he was. The same thing still occurs with the "real journalists". As an example, the Dutch protests are not covered at all in Canada, nor is any event, arising, or information that is contrary to a governments agenda and actions, unless that Government has been deemed to be "bad" such as Russia is now. Same for Corona and post vaccine info/data. I went through severe wildfires last year and remained on the ground throughout the event that destroyed half the houses in my community. The "real journalists" took the statement provided by government and published it. No investigation, no talking to eye witnesses, no questioning the government response. The government statement was 80% lies, misinformation, obfuscation, and omission of clarifying/key information. There was one independent journalist who did a story on the event and he was harassed and persecuted as is the case in this article. The difference is he did not interact with the police, in collecting the story, but rather they started persecuting him after he published his story. One can only conclude that this is political. Media relies on grants and licencing from the government, and is therefore not independent. This is even more so when one understands that, since journalism has become a post-secondary education, many journalists are fellow alumni and friends with politicians and senior bureaucrats, as many classes in journalism and poly sci overlap,as do their circles in their day to day careers.

I am from the UK and I did fair bit of work with a cop from Melbourne. Generally a nice guy but had a really unhealthy attitude toward the public when pressed or backed into a corner. I got the impression that they saw the public as vermin to be controlled and that any petty excuse would or could be used to nail somebody they didn't like and that they would use an absurd amount of manpower and resources just to settle a personal vendetta rather than looking at the greater public good. It seems that throughout the pandemic and the treatment of Mr Yemini are in line with this unhealthy attitude within certain forces that would appear to have bought into a political narrative. The Police have been scapegoated in many countries and for many reasons and I am very pro Police - they do a great job generally and I hate to think what society would look like without them but the Victoria Police, I think stepped over a very dangerous line where they beat, arrested and harassed generally decent folks who posed ZERO risk to themselves or others - unless you actually believe that COIVD 19 was so deadly that it warranted this response. I think the stats say otherwise.

@@aldosigmann419 I think we have to remember the cops are people too. They are obliged to uphold the law that any regime puts in place whether they agree with it or not and to fail to do that - they risk their livelihoods. That all being said there are certainly some that seem to relish the power trip and the feeling on dominance over their fellow citizen and get too many of them in ANY police force and you risk turning the whole of the public against the force. The rule of thumb should be that if you are not presenting a clear and present (significant) danger to yourself or other the policing should be softly softly. 6:55 The big guy with the Mohawk and Beard was also wrongfully arrested using force whilst doing his job as Avi’s protection during one of these marches. He also won his case in court against the Police. These were targeted arrests imo and designed to snuff out any Media coverage that showed the Authorities in a bad light. What we are witnessing around the globe is a concerted effort by Governments to limit the power of protest in order to strengthen the hand of those who are in control. Right now here in the U.K. we have a Conservative Govt actively pushing for limitation on people’s rights to Strike and Protest. The media in General are pushing a right wing agenda whilst simultaneously pointing all fingers at the left for all of the current situation we all face. A situation that has come about because of Neoliberal Economics which is as far removed from Socialism as you can get. This all comes down to Power and Greed of a select few who view themselves as self appointed overlords. Now please do tell me what difference there is between the Capitalist agenda and those Communist types they seemingly find so abhorrent ? All of it centres around control and greed. If as you claim we live in a Democracy in the west then surely a Democracy takes into account all viewpoints and sides of the debate no matter how diverse or otherwise? If not then it is a dictatorship regardless of where your personal beliefs lay. An Ex Soldier.

Ned Kelly the Australia’s first rebel and a bloody legend !
@damienroberts9342 жыл бұрын
@@Al-Gore-ithm In March 1881, the Victorian Government approved a royal commission into the conduct of the Victoria Police during the Kelly Outbreak.[171] Over the next six months, the commission, chaired by Francis Longmore, held 66 meetings, examined 62 witnesses and visited towns throughout "Kelly Country". While its report found that the police had acted properly in relation to the criminality of the Kellys, it exposed widespread corruption and shattered a number of police careers in addition to that of Chief Commissioner Frederick Standish.[172] Numerous other officers, including senior staff, were reprimanded, demoted or suspended. It concluded with a list of 36 recommendations for reform.[159] Kelly hoped that his death would lead to an investigation into police conduct, and although the report did not exonerate him or his gang, its findings were said to strip the authorities "of what scanty rags of reputation the Kellys had left them."

The police hierarchy are too close to the Andrews Government that's why they won't investigate Red shirts or slug gate because Labor politicians and public servants are involved.If it was an average person who was involved they would investigate it straight away.

Well done Sky, took you a tad to get on board with the concept of defending your industries special allowance of free press, but still a whack of a lot quicker than the other msm. If the journalists who etched me laughed can’t see the danger of what was actually occurring before their eyes specifically relating to their future careers, well then they are surely in the wrong job. If the press doesn’t think it’s important to maintain free press, then why do you deserve it.

Imagine how you, Australians, would have been treated if you didn't "Voluntarily" surrender your firearms back in the 90's? THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CONCENTRATIONS CAMPS, WHERE YOU WERE FORCED INTO..... THEY MIGHT HAVE WANTED TO DO THAT TO THE AMERICANS, BUT WE ARE ARMED TO THE TEETH....

I am pleased that Avi got his apology, he was the only one out there reporting on the truth and showing what really was going on. I just wish you had of aired the footage of his security, Daniel, being arrested. The guy was saying I'm working, I'm on the job as he was smashed to the ground by about ten police while Avi, in front of the camera, was saying he is my security guard. The police told him to stay back as they were dealing with an offender. That was a targeted attack by the police.
@chrisscrivens24492 жыл бұрын
Just like SAPOL in South Australia, the police in Victoria appear to be the most successful group/club/crime-family/clan commiting organised crime in their state. Who polices the police? It's insane to suggest that police are making our communities safer. It's not all police, but it is very many and it runs deep all the way to the top brass. It has been and will probably continue to always be a cancer within their organisations. Australia was founded by criminals and we have been ruled by elitist scumbag criminals who happen to be protected due to their business and intimate relationships with powerful politicians, magistrates, queens/senior counsel, police commissioner/s and other offices of the government etc. There ain't shit any of us can do about it either. It's like... tough titties bitches.

Is there "rule of law" in Australia? Seems that Aussies are under the boot heel of a Police State. There those that say that Texas, my state, is a right-wing fascist state. Well, if a police officer arrests a person without probable cause, then they risk their job (as a minimum) or their freedom.
@nickjacovides7812 жыл бұрын
Yes there is something like that here in Melbourne but believe me my brother victoria police are no part of it the are a law unto themselves if you investigated every police force on the planet they would be the gold standard of corruption that the rest could learn from its always deliberate never admitting any wrong doing just a closing of ranks and every dirty trick you can think of and if one of there own breaks rank wow to that poor person one such case made it to television involving an officer by the name of Illingworth look that up also a book victoria police corruption by Raymond hoser I think I got the names correct god bless you brother
