Chopper was trivial for me because his face just looked wrong to me. Something about the way his face was drawn even for a facefault didn't match how I expected Oda to draw him, but I can't quite explain _why_ that is. (That said, #3 had me doubting because I struggled to place it in terms of story.)

Monitor's second one had a very obvious tell that immediately clued me on, I don't read manga so it was purely an art style thing: Look at the characters' eyes, the top "eyelid" as it were isn't completed in the real ones but is on Monitor's version.

The One Piece one was obvious from the moment I saw the panel. 1. Pretimeskip Chopper never saw any dinosaurs, he came into the story littlerally right after the dinosaur island. 2. The art was to unsmooth compared to the other 2 and is missing some crosshatching that Oda uses often.

They all looked great but all of them had little things that gave them away. often it was the composition that was just a tiny bit weaker then the real ones or the line quality gave it away. with the ranking of kings one the random panel of the castle made no sense from a storytelling perspective.

For the One Piece, it was actually pretty obvious. It's nice to draw one based on a existing story. So like it was Water Seven, Little Garden, then again Water Seven. But here's the thing.... Chopper wasn't in Little Garden. So dialog probably made it more obvious for me, lol XD

OML I LOVE FAIRY TAIL 😭 AMAZING JOB OML I actually guess the first one, which was correct. I watched the show like 3 times and i didn't remember anything about orphans. And the Natsu's outfit was at the last season, and the last season focused on the war. But if i didn't know the anime that well, I wouldn't have guessed it. On the PopTeam Epic one, I figured out the second one was fake not due to the art style, but due to the other 2 having punchlines that worked.

I’m 3 for 3 in the video so far and called all of em because of the line work. I like reading manga so idk the way a lot of them just use the same consistent lines since they have to do hundreds of pages isn’t gonna end up looking extremely detailed but it’ll more so look perfectly placed. The way they erase inconsistencies and use the same brushes is also a big thing. But what really shows it is if you can difrentiate something drawn by reference or something drawn to imitate reference. You can really feel the message the mangaka trying to get out of these. But fr fr for the second one and third one I locked in my answer so quick just based off the line work and how much detail they would try to add. Loved this video

Third panel 1: the instant giveaway for me was the artist clearly has a particular 'swoop' shape down pat for the two bits of hair that come down around that character's face, it's present on the 2 other panels, and the panel being referenced, but not in the fake panel (The hair forms a sort of 'diamond' shape)

All of these were great! I think for me the easiest to spot was the colored one piece one, probably because I read so much of the manga back in the day. Even though the experession of Chopper was spot on, the line quality and hatching was really different from Oda's. I think One piece overall is a hard choice to replicate because Oda is a master at what he does (he's been doing it for decades, after all) and he has a very particular art style.

Round 1: i chose the 3rd because of the way the the kid's (I don't remember their name) neck was drawn Round 2: i chose the second, i don't really have a reason it's just the one I chose Round 3: i chose the 3rd for much the same reason the others described. Round 4: i mostly chose the 3rd because of how baby faced he looked Round 5: i chose the 1st mostly because I've seen parts of the show and can definitely believe that the 2nd and 3rd happened Round 6: i didn't have anything to go off of so i ended up just not picking until it was too late 😅 Round 7: i chose the 2nd mostly because chopper doesn't join the crew until after little garden and i don't think he was bandaged up at sabodey which is the next time a dinosaur would show up (i think anyways...) Honestly- what tipped me off about the fairy tail one is that happy is drawn too well. From reading and studying the art styles of a lot of manga and mangaka, and watching a lot of anime from those manga; I’ve come to learn that while the anime will resemble the art style of the manga, the manga never looks as accurate or clean. The way Happy was drawn in the third panel looked like it would be more accurate to how a mangaka draws their anime.

For PopTeam Epic, i haven’t watched it but I knew it was the second one, because if you look at the highlights in the black haired girls eyes, they're a little too straight and circular, unlike the ovals in the third panel. And it looked too clean to me as well. For FT (my fav, you can't fool me😤), I knew it was the first based on the background (the hatching is very distinct), Happy's ears and Happy's wings. His ears were too circular and his wings aren usually a tiny bit more detailed as well. For Death Note, I've never watched nor read it, but I have seen that girl's face before. And I know the Manga looks incredibly close to the anime, and I thought her face was a little too girlish and cute. I thought her eyes were too adorable and her hair lineart looked diff to the white haired guys hair too.
