I do agree that meta runner definitely could've gone on longer at least for a season 4 mainly because they left some cliffhanger bits basically teasing a 4th season only to do nothing with them and in all fairness I think the ending they left it with was really underwhelming being more or less somber and in denial of the circumstances they ended in. With sunset paradise though it was basically inevitable for it to only have one season the whole show basically being a high effort ark for meggy finding something else to do with her life after becoming human it was definitely pretty well done meant to be very video gamey in design and concept but I do wish they maybe fleshed it out more maybe had some filler episodes where meggy actually gets to address her problems instead of shishkabobing them into the circumstances they happen to be in dealing with something else but in all fairness both of these shows were when glitch was just getting it's feet wet with high effort and high quality animation work so I suppose we shouldn't have expected so much but then again if they're going to tease a theoretical season 4 they should at least commit to it in the case of meta runner

Another thing about MD and TADC is that they were created by people outside of glitch, Liam Vickers and gooseworx. They have different styles from the others. what I specifically mean is that they weren't created by Kevin and Luke.

Liam, Gooseworks and others are showrunners - people hired from outside the company to share their artistic vision and to direct the team. Point is, once the show is over, *they don't work there.* Sure they might get another show, or full-time employment, but that's more of an option. Fun fact - the reason Glitch started hiring showrunners is actually their policy of helping small creators, much like GlitchX!

There may be some pages up to see somewhere online too but I've never really looked. If you want a copy your best bet is to look for people selling theirs. I don't know if it will be easy or difficult, but I wish you luck on your journey if you decide to try and find one!

Honestly great Video! I might be blinded by nostalgia (being an smg4 kid as well like you) but Meta Runner (and Sunset Paradise) still hold a special place in my heart. I do wish people gave it a chance and even Glitch themselves acknowledge it a bit more, but I feel like the popularity of Murder drones and Digital Circus was a bit too much. I still think they're amazing shows and the influence it had on indie animation was incredible, but hopefully people can see this vid in order to give Glitch's first few shows a watch. One thing I will note is that this all started with original concepts with Luke and Kevin's and now they partnered with others (Liam Vickers & Goosewrx) to help make their own shows (and even later in the future with Gaslight district) I'll also mention the sad controversy/drama with Tari's original voice actor Celeste Notley. I won't elaborate but it really was a bit heartbreaking to her, metarunner fans, fans of Tari, and others. The lack of awareness with these previous shows does make me sad, but whenever there was mentions of Meta Runner AT ALL, it gives me somewhat hope. Seeing a mini Tari in the Glitch INN teasers, the Glitch INN reddit mural with someone drawing the MR logo celebrating 5 years, and also even just that small clip of Meta runner (and Sunset Paradise) during Glitch X. I'm glad that some stuff has happened but wish that they could've done so much more with where they started off with in indie animation.

I would’ve loved to see “coconut boy”’s series to have been a thing with better worldbuilding like, make it start normal where he doesn’t know he’s in a game but when he sees himself and Tari he starts to question reality, and begin to realize the monotony and repetitiveness of his life. That’s such a solid idea for a series and is almost a reverse of digital circus that could have the same existential undertones and deep themes.

As someone who knew about Glitch Productions with TADC and then Murder Drones, I must say I love all of their shows, cause I decided to check out Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise too cause I thought “I like these two Glitch shows, but there are other two that look good but I don’t know why people don’t talk about them”, and it’s one of the best decisions I have ever made. Meta Runner turned into my favorite show from them but I still love them all absolutely (and I must say I lowkey disagree with your point at 23:07, I think it’s not necessary to watch SMG4 and understand the lore to enjoy Sunset Paradise or the character of Meggy, saying this as someone who isn’t interested in SMG4 but likes Glitch. As a person who was there when SMG4 dropped Meta Runner, I gotta say I'm sad to see how the first few shows just be left to be forgotten. Yet I also understand that not only did these shows help get the Studio to gain traction, they were pretty much experimental for the Glitch bros. So it is what it is, they might not be the main course of this Studio's history, but they were the first to make it. In conclusion, MetaRunner was peak nostalgia, Whisk from Sunset Paradise was hot, and Theo is probably chilling somewhere.

I do love all of Glitch Production shows and SMG4 as a whole, and I feel like a small reason why meta runner and sunset paradise doesn't get too much recognition was because they were the first two shows that luke and kevin were attempting to make and expand their content outside of the wacky and random videos of SMG4, and after awhile they kept on improving more and more with what works and what doesn't work both with story and characters. Sure Tari and Meggy were great but they were still part of the SMG4 Universe so you need a lot of context from those videos to get engage and understand those two beginning shows. Murder Drones and The amazing digital circus, They were their own things with their own characters and stories and had more complex writing and story telling features with outside artists like LiamVickers and Gooseworks giving them a unique animation for those shows. Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise are good shows and I do think they should be remembered as such, but I think what makes Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus a bit better is that the group at GLITCH Productions just gained more and more experience and improved a lot from where they first started out. So in a way, if it wasn't for meta runner and sunset paradise existing at all in their current state, then we wouldn't have the absolute golden style of indie animation like Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus at all. But like I said, this is just my own opinion and it may not be entirely true, but I just see some beauty in all of this if it is true from an animation and artistic perspective.

I think the reason that poster doesn’t give metarunner and sunset paradise justice is because it was NOT made by glitch, if i remember correctly it was made by enchantedmob/zamination (aka the creators of poppy playtime) as a “gift” to glitch (because of the subscribers goal and also to promote themselves by using the trending “popularity of tdac and md and their studio” to get some more views) and so, as a celebrative gift fot glitch, they also had to insert tari and meggy too, even if not knowing a damn about their series, that’s why all the other side characters are missing. But yeah, besides that, glitch does kinda leave behind those series, as nobody knows them nowadays.
