@@xolnos Jester has no idea who he is. Laura? Yes. After all, Laura was the one that picked him as Jester's Patron. However, not based on this interaction. She decided on Artie as Jester's Patron based on events yet to happen in this show. Because Artie didn't reveal himself to Vox Machina until they went back to the Fey Realm.

@@stingerjohnny9951 That's character development, Syldor starts out as a heartless dick but grows to be a compassionate father who ended Syngorn's elven populace's prejudice against other races. That's why by Campaign 3 (30 years later) Syngorn is a lot more multiracial than it was.

I definitely prefer the original over the new one. It's definitely more powerful and emotional when she says it to his face. The delivery is just so much greater too. Laura freakin' Bailey is a treasure and such a talented voice actress.

​@@HazySkies I assume in the show this was the first time twins met their dad since they left him, while in the campaign (off stream) they already had the meeting before the feywild and Vex is clearly not ready to fully face him, so we'll probably going to get something similar to that exchange later, I think it was a good choice to establish Vex's conflicting emotions first

@@martophrenia In terms of since they last met, i believe it was identical between the show and original campaign. Neither had seen Syldor since leaving Singhorn many years ago, before even meeting any of the rest of Vox Machina. So that parity/consistency is still there.

Vex vs. Saundor. What a great archer duel. And it was pretty cool to see Kiki using one of Vax’s daggers to cut herself free. And then… the Tree Striding as a fire elemental… glad they kept that. Granted, they could have done a bit more, but as is, I thought the episode was well-paced. Hard to believe that next week the season will be over already.

The "if I could rip the blood he gave me from my veins" part was imo wasted here it was better yelled at Syldor than a passive comment. Of course it's narratively better to build to it but tbh I preferred the delivery in the campaign, the weight of it just doesn't hit nearly as much as I had hoped. Syldor & Saundor (of course the nasty men have similar sounding names lol) were done beautifully and Velora was as precious as imagined.

I actually can say Percy's full name as fast as he can. I'm the only one of my circle of friends who can. That's why I get to be the one who cosplays him out of our group... That and I made a really good Pepperbox prop.

This is maybe the first time I disagree with how they adapted something for the show! I wish they had kept Syldor believing that Vex actually had a title. It makes it more realistic to take it out but the scene loses some magic I think - especially since they never go back and clarify that no - she actually does have a title and what Percy gave her was real. Also we don't get Laura Bailey's amazing "Well you didn't know" line that had me crying and laughing at the same time lol.

It served Vex’s character development really well tho. Till that moment it seemed like she still believed there was an accomplishment or status she could attain that would earn her Fathers approval. But once he deemed it a “meaningless title” she finally realizes that isn’t the case. I love that she didn’t need his approval anymore, even with the vestige in hand.

this is the first instance where I think the original game had a better delivery than the animated show. Telling her father in an intimate but emotional outburst way better than telling some magical reply-guy who keeps negging her.
