Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Stick at your NPPL and get it done! It’s the best thing I ever did! I do plan on calling in at Perth this year actually. Aircraft that have bolted/riveted tubes and pre-sewn envelopes are simply screwed or bolted with pre-sewn envelopes laced into place. No painting is required. They are easy to construct and less expensive. However, only composite structures allow curves in all 3 dimensions, essential for aerodynamic efficiency.

Thank you! So far so good to be honest. If I could change it in any way I would stick a 40 litre wing tank in each wing and give more luggage space behind but to be honest, I don't need to. 4 hours fuel is more than sufficient and we can squeeze our touring kit in no problem. It would just be a luxury I guess.

Nick - looking to build a 600Kg Ninja. Was that the CV E prop or the griund adjustable one ? Nice aircraft! I am based in Perth - did you ever make it up here?
@LetsGoFlying
@LetsGoFlying 7 ай бұрын
Hi Jim, it’s a ground adjustable but it works in quite a clever way. It has a “constant speed effect” so there is an optimum angle for the aircraft type. I believe the root of the blades is stalled when there is no airflow which means the whole prop can spin faster (engine RPM hits just shy of maximum at 5750 which allows you to achieve full power) and as the airflow increases with airspeed, the roots of the blade are no longer stalled and can grab more air. As this happens, the engine RPM drops and once airbourne and climbing, it has dropped to approximately 5300-5400 RPM which I believe does give a shorter take off as well as faster climb and cruise but I haven’t seen any comparison figures. The max straight and level at 2,000’ should be approximately 5,500 RPM +/- 50 RPM. That’s how you set the pitch - off the max RPM straight and level at 2,000’.

@LetsGoFlying
@LetsGoFlying Жыл бұрын
Thanks Ben! Absolutely chuffed to bits with her! Yes - weekend is going good thanks, I hope yours is too! Well it's a 60 litre tank and she burns 14 litres per hour at what I usually cruise at so I would say about 3.5 hours is the most I would want to go without refuelling. There's no way I would get 3.5 hours anywhere without Anna needing a "comfort break" anyway lol! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Do you really need flaps for T/O? We stopped using them on our C42B because of how quickly it reached the flap limiting speed in those moments literally just after taking off. Seemed like an unnecessary risk of damaging the flap mechanism when you get off the ground in just a few seconds.
@LetsGoFlying
@LetsGoFlying Жыл бұрын
Good question! With tarmac I don’t bother but on wet grass I tend to want to get off the ground ASAP as everything is a bit soggy at the moment! Flap limiting speed (VFE) is quite high and not an issue for the Nynja @ 76 kts IAS. Whereas it’s either 57kts or 63kts (depending on the year of manufacture) on the C42B.

Hi. I'm having a 600kg Nynja built for meand wonder whether you considered fitting Beringer wheels/brakes? If so why did you not have them fitted?
@LetsGoFlying
@LetsGoFlying Жыл бұрын
I did consider them yes but I barely use the brakes. Generally speaking I use them to hold the aircraft still during checks and for stop/start during taxi but rarely do I need excessive braking force on landing and when I do, the new and improved Nynja brakes are more than sufficient. The Berringer brakes are excellent but won’t get me wrong but I just didn’t need that kind of performance for the extra cost!
@clivemoore-q6w
@clivemoore-q6w Жыл бұрын
@@LetsGoFlying thanks for your thoughts. That is my thinking too. I'm hoping to spend the money I save on Beringers on wing tanks/bigger storage and an e-Prop prop/spinner. I see you have an e-Prop prop/spinner. Are you happy with your choice? Is it strong enough to pull the plane by the blade roots as you can with a standard Kiev prop?
