IMAX B6 is the new intelligent multifunction charger which can charge and discharge for Lion, LiPo, LiFe (A123), Pb, NiCd and NiMH batteries. It's all-powerful in a way.

Best video on using b6 chargers I've seen. Most other videos move so fast through setting their own stuff up with no review of setup, features, use of the different plugs, etc that it's only helpful if you're doing exactly what they are with the same batteries & connections. Fantastic, just ordered my first heli that requires 2s, this charger was recommended and as you state the instructions are pretty good, but there's nothing like actually seeing someone talk through the process. I feel more confident now and can't wait for my heli to arrive.

I was unable to fly. I balanced the batteries. Drained them with the storage feature. Few years later tried to charge them and no luck at the usual low rate. Refused to start charging. Set the charger to a lower rate of charge and it worked perfectly. They came up with really good balance too. Batteries are back to normal.

I think this is not the real thing. Easy way to check if it's real or fake is to getting the weight of the unit. To be precise use grams instead of onz. Fake: 400-470 grams, Real: 525-580 grams. This is due to cheap components and the saving of copper and smaller capacitors, etc. Real: on the back has two large stickers, not only a QC sticker. For the RC enthusiast this may mean how your costly batteries are charged (helicopter & airplanes specially). Respectfully.

Finally, a tutorial for this charger. Wish I had seen your video before I did exactly what you advised not to around 20:00. Got a little lazy on soldering the xt60s and shorted the battery. It did give me a miniature version of the new year's fireworks. lol. But thankfully, the battery was fine; charger detected it and I'm charging to full cap. as I write this. Thanks for this, I have a 10 year old Graupner Ultramat 16 charger but it doesnt have storage mode, so ill be ordering one of these to automate the discharging of my car/boat lipos but I can still use both chargers with balence leads to charge more than one battery at a time. it would be interesting to explore maximum charge voltages, as some people recommend only charging to 80% for extra life of the batteries, wether this matters or not in model batteries I dont know.

Balance is not "balance mode" but "Charge while balancing mode" basically it still charge your battery as "charge" do, but it also ensure your battery is balanced. Doing "Charge" only on multiple cell battery is dangerous when you have a balance feature available, there is no point of going to "charge" with multiple cells.

Need help I am new in this field I have two questions 1. How much time it takes to full charge 3s 5200mah lipo 30c? 2. It says 3.7v on battery as wel on imax charger menu, but it goes to 3.84v and sometimes 4v is it safe or normal?

I know this is old, but the guy does not select the balance charge mode. Scroll across one more page before starting the charge and you get "balance". No point in plugging the balance leads in if you don't do that. Plus when it's charging scroll to the left and you get to see the cell voltages.

2 things : Apparently parallel charging is just about the most dangerous thing you can do. Second, you don't show the underside of the charger which should have a hologram. If it doesn't it's a fake. From the printing on the topside of the case it looks like a fake. Maybe you know this already?

Calibration process: IMAX B6 50W 5A BalancerCharger 　 1 - hold - start button and decrease 2 - plug power adaptor 3 - wait for calibrating menu 4 - release - and start button 5 - wait 20 minutes to warm up to the working temperature 6 - plug in battery and measure it, compare values between charger and Voltmeter 7 - if necesarry, then make correction using + and - 8 - save it by pressing start

Yes. Theres videos on it. I would advise you go for a dual output charger over this.

i have the same charger and love it been using it flawless for years only difference between yours and mine is yours has only one 12v input through the power plug mine has a wire with gator clips permanently attached for attaching to a car battery etc for power and the same plug as yours mine also came with a 12v 5a power supply(computer type)

The price was so nice because that's a knockoff, not the real SkyRC product. Although it may work nominally, the displayed voltages are not calibrated, and can damage expensive batteries. I got suckered too, and didn't find out until after the return period (if any) had ended. Don't risk it! Get the real deal, and check for s hologram sticker on the back with a serial number that can be verified at the SkyRC website.

You didn't mention what the max charge is for the various voltages. For example what is the max voltage for 14.8v battery? Also for storage is the storage voltage in the instruction brochure per cell?
