Just as you get to Whiterun, go into the guards barracks and grab the journal that's the there... Not the Book. You don't have to steal it. This starts the Smith 'N' Slash quest. Go back to Embershard Mine and take out the 5 orc bandits there and the blacksmith that the quest is about. Boom! Special Orc Armor set. Enjoy.

Little tip, the giant camp next to mist watch has a river close by, when getting the blocking up go into the river and the giants will go away, if you go to the other side of the river you can wait an hour for your health then do it again

Don't know if you're taking suggestions but with the new ingredients you don't need to combine them with each other, you can just combine them with normal ones with same effect such as snowberries+ dreugh wax

if you have anniversary ed there is a full heavy dragon bone set at the top of Arcwind Point, can skip the dungeon and just run to the top, hands have 2 Handed + 30% and nearby at the atronach stone is a close landmark to picking up Shadowrend 2hand weapon great low level starting gear

Nice yeah is that the one that has really high fire resistance? Think it might be 100%. I stumbled onto that once by accident, think it was part of Bones For A Crow but I hadn't done the quest at that point

Yeah, unrelenting force is fun. On some builds I get the staff of Hasedoki which provides the same effect without cooldown. Some Falmer dungeons become a sports arena with it - it's also lots of fun in the Forgotten Vale.

@@mike-thegamingdad Getting the staff is annoying - best done between level 5 and 10 and using a seriously pimped "Undying Ghost". Cast him and hang back - when the carnage is over, collect the staff. It's so much fun in regions or dungeons where you have ledges and heights to knock the bad guys down.

If you find a diamond and do the duplication glitch along with the gold, you can make gold jewelry that increases your smithing significantly faster and you can enchant and sell those as well.

@@mike-thegamingdad Hi man. I hope you're doing better now. Since everyone uses glitches I hope you will not. I have a few tips for you from my own testing: 1. Wear the Bloodborn Helmet and then select your Alchemy gear. Make sure that you last select your head gear so that only then the Bloodborn Helmet will be de selected. 2. As you've already guessed, Haunted Spirits killed by followers or dismissed followers when the spirit is Illusion agro'd do not at +10 to all skills for 1 minute.

18:00 Do you need to combine two Rare Curios ingredients to get better potions? I've read that combining one Rare Curios ingredient with regular ones would give the same effect. It'll sure help in saving up on those rare ingredients if true.

Yes you only have to use one of the new ingredients with an older one for the same effect. Example a gold kanet and either a blisterwort, glowing mushroom, sabrecat tooth, or spriggan sap for a crazy fortify smithing potion. Hope that help answer your question. :)

10:30 as far as I know, selling items in bulk gives the same amount of experience as selling one item. So for more experience you need to sell only one at a time and quit and open trading menu after each Speech level up to update the prices. Also you didn't mention to change Warrior Stone to Thief Stone. You didn't cure lycanthropy to get 'Well rested' bonus, despite that you already finished Companions' quest line. You didn't get the blessing of charity and Zenitar nor his amulet or other bartering gear such as thief guild hood or its better version from Solstheim.

Yeah I've heard that too, using the Madresi hidden chest trick though I think its quicker to speed sell as you can hit 100 fairly quickly and keep taking all your stuff back, selling 1 by 1 would take longer in total with 400 potions to sell at a time 🤣. Yeah I'd forgotten to show the first standing stone change I wasn't recording when I did that doh!, I mentioned it though I think it was around 7:10. Thanks yeah those are good tips for haggling (Zenithar etc), I tend to bypass them when speed levelling as selling all the potions to a merchant once speech is at 100 with all perks will yield well over 100k gold, so boosting this seems a bit pointless as no one ever needs that much gold anyway, but for normal playthroughs definitely, those are good tips, thanks for sharing 😁👍

@@mike-thegamingdad 7:10 oh, sorry, I overlooked it. As for bartering gear, it's not about money, it's about better prices and so faster leveling. With just the Zenithar blessing, his amulet (both can be found not far from Riften) and thief hood you'll have +30% bonus to prices, meaning you need to sell ~30% less items money-worth.

I'd say the important ones at first are the ones you need to level to get the gear made, so enchanting, alchemy, smithing. You dont want to leave yourself short there as the gear then won't be as good.

To complete Carlotta's quest you don't have to have another of those annoying brawl sessions. If you give the beggar girl her 1 gold to receive the blessing, your speech level is high enough to pass the persuasion check. Faster, less annoying.

WOW "Tiny" reminds me of a orc two handed warrior I had back in 2011 on my Xbox 360! Never got him to legendary but I would walk around never sneaking and in battles he would just start one hitting any enemies that attacked him! I am now playing Skyrim on my laptop and the Xbox is in storage! So I am going to have to make a new two handed orc tank using this build guide!

@@mike-thegamingdad yeah I bought Skyrim pre-order and got it on 11/11/11 and for the next few months I ate, drank and lived Skyrim! At the time I had a overnight job as a caregiver for a handicapped family friend who needed a person at night in case he needed to go to the bathroom or whatever! So I was able to take my Xbox with me to "work" and play until 2 or 3 in the morning and go to bed for a few hours to wake up and get John up at 8am and turn his care over to the daytime people who fed and showered him! Then I would go home and play all day! WOW thinking back on it I played A LOT (from November 2011 to February 2012 my friend and I calculated that I had spent upwards of 65% of each day playing Skyrim) So with all that game play time I had one of each of the races (I am a bit OCD when it comes to that) of Skyrim (already told you about my orc tank) My two favorite characters (the first two I started) were my high elf wizard and my bosomer wood elf thief/assassin! This was all base game pre legendary dlc for most of the play but did get the legendary upgrade when it was released! It's been so long since I have played them I can't remember their names! Anyway the high elf was level 66 and 100 alchemy, enchanting and smithing without your specific ways to do it! She was the head of the Mages College and owned every single house in the base game and the three new ones in the legendary upgrade, had done the 24 gem hat quest and at the last time I played her (2015 when I lost my overnight job and didn't have time to play) she had more gold than I knew what to do with! My other the wood elf he was a master archer, lockpicking sneak thief/assassin! Head of both thieves guild and nightengales(LOL edit.... It's been so long that I had forgotten that the Nightingales was the end of the thieves guide quest line) So I meant the Dark Brotherhood! Both of them were also the Dragonborn and had completed that quest line! Then life and job got in the way of Skyrim and other games (Fallout and the like on pc)! It wasn't until covid19 lock down that I bought Skyrim for pc but I absolutely hated the keyboard commands to play so I only played 5 minutes and gave up until about a week ago and I finally got a Xbox controller for my pc and redownloaded Skyrim of STEAM! Of course I am starting over again from the beginning because all my other play time is on the Xbox! Anyway if you want to hear about my other race builds (what my 54yo brain can remember) just ask and I will glad try to remember them! I will leave off with my argonian Walks-in-Woods who never used fast travel (this was before survival mode) and walked everywhere!

Great guide, always level up sneak or one handed/two handed on Ralof or Hadvar at the cave early on. I personally always play on master settings, otherwise Skyrim gets too easy.

Why don't you just use console command and give yourself 100 sneak? It's going to be more efficient really if you are going to cheat level it anyway using game "hidden mechanics".

I know this video is old but... did they fix the bug that lets you "sell the vendor's itens back to the vendor"? there was a bug that you could click and drag from your name to the name of the vendor while selecting to sell something, and when selling it would change to the vendor's inventory, but still with 'sell' command... and you could sell them their own items, which would just give all their gold back to you... this is what I used to get 100 speech when I needed with a character... it's basically just flooding "E" "rightclick" and "enter" as fast as possible on their most expensive shit...

Oh I'm not sure, I don't think I've ever done that one. Bethesda's track record of fixing bugs is lax so I'd hazard a guess at no, however USSEP most likely would patch it so if you have that I'd probably deactivate it, at least while you want to use the bug

If giving legendary a go with this build is the path you want to go down then I definitely recommend fortify health and firtify two handed as part of the madness armour enchantments on whichever pieces it can go on. I mentioned it on the video but didn't show any armour enchantments but those two will be the ones that'll help the most with those difficult enemies 😁

Ok. If you grab the door key off the Imperial lady at the beginning. Ralof can’t open the door to start going through the keep. You can practice your levelling up there before beginning any more confrontations. And since Ralof positions himself in front of the door he doesn’t move around as much as he does if you start this when your in the dungeon where the bear is. You shouldn’t be practicing on Ralof near the bear. But in the first room you start out in. Hadvar is a completely different story, since he already has a key on him. The only area you can practice on Hadvar is near the bear.

I'm currently playing an heavy armored warrior orc with sword, shield and crossbow, i'm level 30 or something (not to high) I took the imperial dragon set as soon as possible and stole the daedric crossbow from Solitute archery shop....The hole set can be upgraded from smithing steel perks, making the rest of smithing perk useless. I use the farm to make potions I may need and a lot of gold ofc....Even tho I'm not using any exploits I feel like I'm stupidly strong and ruined the overall challenge....Maybe I should just play legendary difficulty insted...

Nice sounds like a great build. Yeah the AE additions kind of made the game very easy. They are great to play with I'm not knocking them, but the battle of champions sets are like end game armor sets and them being available from day 1 is crazy 🤣. I think the storm bear set has the highest armor rating in the game due to its enchantments. If can up your damage from your weapons then yeah go to legendary difficulty, otherwise every enemy will be a meat shield. The difficulty in Skyrim is quite a crude system. Each level simply increases your rate if damage taken whilst reducing what you give out. So on normal the ratio is 1:1. On easy it's like 0.5x taken 2x given out. But on legendary you take 3x as much and give out 0.25x. So unless your weapons do good damage you'll be stabbing draugr and bandits for hours

567 is the maximum armor that can be used to block damage if the enemy does not use armor penetration weapons. there are some mobs that wield weapons with 75% armor pen which then the high armor rating of 1805 would then be needed as you would only use 451.25 of the armor. with the shield at legendary you will have an armor rating of 2268 for when you would encounter mobs with the 75% armor pen using the full 567 armor rating.

I need to know how your base armor rating for madness armor is so high. You have a base of 228 on the chest piece, while I only have 146, this continues with the rest of the armor pieces, how did you do it? pls help

The base armor rating before any enchantments is affected by your overall level in Heavy armor, plus the perks. Is your level 100? It was a while back I made this but I think mine was. I also had the perks which improve the base level like Juggernaut 5/5

Everything that I have seen says that matching set and well fitted are very much external, and have no effect on armor crafted. I'm stuck, I suppose it could be a glitch?

@stayed5276 hmm okay, the only other thing I think it could be is the Ebony smithing perk. Do you have that? I think that will effect it as well The number is just a formula based on a few factors, something like: Item Armor rating = (base armor rating + the item quality) × (1 + 0.4 × skill level/100) ] × (1 + well fitted) × (1 + matching set) × (1 + juggernaut) It should be black and white, but armor rating always seems to be hard to match up 😂 maybe it is a glitch I don't know. It doesn't matter too much though because the game has an armor cap of 567 without a shield anyway so pushing it to 1/2k is just flexing 🤣

Don't think USSEP changes the difficulty no, at the beginning of this though the difficulty would have been adept. Its only once the build is finished I flip the difficulty to legendary.

You can speed up the process once alchemy is maxed, by periodically making a batch of potions, selling them, and then buying training from Vilkas in the Companions. I think it's vilkas, maybe it's farkas, one of them trains heavy armor and the other two handed. Each time you level up you can buy 5 levels of training, which makes it quicker. But yeah if you don't do the ralof method you'll need to level it organically as after that point I think all followers become hostile if you attack them more than once or twice.

Think one of my favorite little bits of trivia about dragon shouts is that if you get the illusion perk (I think it's 50 required quiet casting) that makes illusion spells not make any noise when you cast them (So you can sneak and cast spells without enemies detecting you) this perk also makes it so shouts will be silent to your enemies. You can probably guess where I'm going with this. Provided you have a decent sneak level to where most foes can't detect you with this perk you can now fus ro dah enemies and send them flying without them even noticing you or detecting you. You can send them flying halfway through a room and if they survive they will just get up and walk off like nothing happened. Get's even more fun if you get the dragonborn force power from the dragonborn dlc that doubles the power of unrelenting force

So I have question if anyone can answer. Everything online I’m reading says the orchish greatsword does 20ish damage. Why does mine show 39 damage??? I’m so confused on this game. I’m a high elf level 15 and that’s the only weapon I’ve really used. I don’t even use magic. Why is my sword say so much more damage than what I’m reading????

It could be the base damage of the weapon you are seeing online, whereas actual damage will be higher than this due to a number of factors: The level of the skill in your skill tree (ranges from 15 to 100) - the higher the level the more damage Do you have any perk points in the skill tree, the base of each weapon type always has 5 spaces. Each one raises damage by 20% Have you used smithing to improve the weapon at all. Every weapons starts off just saying the weapon name. But then these can be improved to say I think its 'fine', 'superior', 'exquisite', 'flawless', 'epic' and 'legendary'. Obviously the better the weapon gets the more damage it does.

I never ever play games but this one seemed cool and now I really enjoy it. Just don’t know a lot about smithing and enchantments and that kinda stuff. I just get a weapon and fight lol. @Dakota Knowles do you have the anniversary edition of the game? If so there's a lot of new weapons and armor in that version and some of it is very easy to get. I've actually done a video on all the new armor sets if you are interested. One of the strongest yet easiest sets to get is the civil warm champion armor, and you can pick either the imperial version or the stormcloak version. As for two handed weapons. There is one called Volundrung that is very good. You get it after completing the quest A Cursed Tribe. This link shows you how to start and complete the quest en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Cursed_Tribe For bows, I really like the bow Zephyr, as it fires 30% faster than a normal bow. The quest doesn't start until you randomly find Meridias beacon inside a chest after your character is level 12 or higher. Oh yeah you can do it with loads of things. I've used it to duplicate the rare curios ingredients that the Khaajit caravans sell as they can be a pain in the *** to get.

Haha yeah the game armor cap is something like 667, anything above that doesn't reduce damage any more I don't think, but it was fun to push it high. Most damage will barely touch you at this point, unless it comes from something like a legendary dragon, they can still hurt 😅

Oh far too long 🤣. I started 10 years ago on the PS3, never completed it on that as I encountered a major glitch which ruined my 300 hour save, then moved to the Special Edition on the PS4 in 2016. Managed 100% completion on that, a ridiculous amount of hours went into that one. Then I had a break for a few years, then when I decided I wanted to give content creation a go I download Anniversary Edition for PC July of this year 🤣. How about yourself?

@haasklaw764 I haven't lied? Every build I do begins on adept, once finished if they can be played on legendary then I'll state it. They're designed to make legendary accessible for a casual player. To build from legendary from the beginning is incredibly challenging and time consuming. Some like that challenge, but for 95% of players they don't want the threat of bandits one shotting them or having to run from every sabrecat or cave bear they come across and that's what it's like on legendary from the start

So sorry for my rage comment hehe. I used to start on adept and go on the legendary too, but I'm trying rn challenge rn and getting smashed.

@haasklaw764 No worries. Yeah unfortunately there's no quick or simple method to playing on legendary in the early stages. It's incredibly tough and takes time. You generally need to focus on combat and only combat early on to limit levelling up in skills that don't boost your survivability. That is until you can take hits. You really only want to pick 1-2 combat skills at most e.g. two handed and archery, or one handed and destruction. Don't spread too thinly across multiple skills. Also pick only 1 armor type, but thats more common anyway. Find a strong companion to help you on your travels. Get a horse (ideally one you tame yourself as they have higher stats than the ones you can buy). Armor that horse as well as they tend to get involved in combat. And although that can be annoying, it's a good way of keeping enemies focused on other things other than you. If multiple enemies focus on you, especially archers, that's when legendary can be a pain as arrows I find are the worst things for taking you out. Then I'd be raiding lower level dungeons for absolutely everything inside, as a way of gathering gold. Inside a dungeon itll only be you and your companion, so the companion needs to do the tanking if needed Sell absolutely everything you raid that you can't use, then use that gold to buy training into your choice of combat skills and armor type Your early perks as well I'd only focus on the base of the combat and armor skills ( the ones that add 20/40/60/80/100% on top). Finally, each level up just stick the stats into health for the first 10 or so levels at least to get that survivability up. It can be done but it's bloody difficult.

@@mike-thegamingdad thank so much. Yeah I've been going with erik the slayer. Two handed, heavy armor, nord(which is making me regret the whole thing). Also putting in someperks in block. Lvl 17 now but I just got one shot by the scavenger guy. So yeah, struggling but at least making it through most missions. I use the werewolf to travel instead of horse lol. Also a back pocket weapon incase I cant get past something. Would you recommend investing much in Alchemy early?

@haasklaw764 probably not early on no, the game levels up with you, and early on you level up quicker, so every level to begin with you need to be ensuring you're focusing on improving your abilities to deal damage, limit it (armor) and take it (health). On legendary, once you've reached a point where you are starting to get a feel for it, that's when you can focus on stuff like alchemy and Enchanting. Smithing is the one skill of those 3 that I would focus on early on, as that is required for making your armor and weapons stronger.

One of my favorite saves this and one I play regularly, usually this, Bruce or the assassin. Although lately I've been using the new paladin a lot as I like the new initiates armor from the Echoes of the Vale creation
