Hi Jubilee, I know that you don't really like negative comments on your videos, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. I realized today that my relationship with my boyfriend is one sided. We've been in a long distance relationship for the past year and I was supposed to move in with him next week. I'm in my early 20s, just recently graduated from university, and my mom is very overprotective, so she was against me moving in with him. After months of arguing with her, I finally agreed to move out when I got a stable job. After months of searching for an entry level HR role, I finally landed one, but the salary was way, way too low for me to comfortably move in with my boyfriend and live with him in a city with an insane cost of living. After rejecting the position, I decided to enroll in a coding bootcamp so that I could possibly land a job with more than 2x the salary of that entry level HR position. I broke the news out to my boyfriend today that I would not be moving in with him next week as planned, and he just went silent. I knew that he was disappointed so I tried to cheer him up by reminding him that although I won't be moving in next week, I will still be visiting him as planned. After more silence, he finally responded with: "Don't bother staying for longer than a week if you're not moving in." I asked him if he even wanted me to visit and he said, "Idk it's up to you." I kept asking him more questions just to get a feel on his mood and how he was feeling, but he would only respond with "I don't know." I explained tried explaining the logic behind my decision. He is just finishing bootcamp and I am just starting bootcamp. In other words, we are both unemployed. There is absolutely no way that I could move in with him. It just financially doesn't add up. I asked him if he would pay my half of the rent if he got a job within the next month and I moved in, and he said no. So after that I asked if he had anything else to say then hung up with he didn't respond. I sat down, cried a bit, and really thought about why I like him. I tried really, really hard about why I was putting so much effort into this relationship. Then it finally dawned on me that he had only put in 50% effort while I was always giving him my 100%. I was the one always initiating conversations, asking him to play games, talking about HIS favorite game Skyrim, spending time with him because his love language is spending time, and yet he has done nothing for me. I was always the one to visit him, I paid for our airbnbs, I paid for most of our meals, I tried to be there for him whenever he needed me. And yet he hasn't done the same for me. My love language is words of affirmations and he never says anything positive to me. I don't even remember the last time he complimented me or even told me that he loved me. And I'm really, really sad now because although my brain is telling me to break up with him, my heart is telling me to give him more time and another chance.
@JubileeWhispers2 жыл бұрын
Hello, my dear! First off, you're not being negative, you just need to vent and you're always welcome to do that here. Second, I think it was really big of you and also very tough to come to terms with your relationship like this. It's very easy to get swept up in things and make excuses for people but you were very honest with yourself. You should be really proud that you are valuing yourself and asking yourself if he is worth your time and youth if he cannot offer you the same. A lot of people will probably tell you that you're so young so you have a lot of time to figure things out and that's very true. You may need to take a step back, reevaluate your relationship, and make the changes that are best for you. You definitely deserve to have someone who is 1000% interested in YOU, who asks you how your day is, goes out of their way to make you happy, etc because they know you'll do the same for them! And you don't have to find that person right now. Don't stress. Take a step back and you'll view the relationship better. Maybe you'll find you're happier apart, maybe he will realize he needs to grow up a bit more and make changes for you, you don't know what will happen. What you do know is that making mistakes is okay, ending a relationship is okay, prioritizing yourself is okay. You never know what the future will bring but I hope it brings you lots of happiness ❤️

I really need to play Skyrim seriously someday, I bought it on every platform but I never played more than a couple of hours. I don't understand why this game has never hooked me, however in the last week I've played more than 40 hours of Elder Scrolls Online, that game really hooked me, and what attracts me to ESO isn't the MMO part since I like to explore the map and play the quests solo, I avoid group dungeons and I don't interact with anyone lol. Maybe by not playing Skyrim when it came out and it becoming so popular I got tired of it without even trying it.
