Skyrim Battles - Malkoran vs. Hamelyn, Dragon Priest, Vampire, and more

Malkoran is well known for doing a stupid amount of damage with his ice storms. This is partly due to the fact that they have a chance to hit the target several times, dealing full damage every time. He can also dual-cast them which increases their damage further.
The damage stacking this way might be a glitch, which I usually avoid. But because it's fun to watch and it also happens when Malkoran fights the player, I wanted to see how effective it is against other NPCs.
Strong wards can still block Malkoran's ice storms efficiently (as shown by Marcurio and Ildari), but they might fail if Malkoran spams them quickly enough or just gets lucky (like with Savos).
The anomaly of Malkoran's ice storm sometimes dealing damage multiple times is not unique to him; I've seen it with Arch Cryomancers and other NPCs too, but it's less extreme and noticeable because they don't spam them nearly as much as Malkoran does, and the chance to stack gets enhanced massively during Malkoran's boss fight.
The results in this episode are less accurate than most of my other videos because Malkoran's damage is very random. Don't rely too much on the exact outcome, it always varies. This is especially true for the rapid death of the Dragon Priest. I couldn't get a decent fight because of the Priest's terrible AI, but him getting totally annihilated looked very satisfying, so I put it into the video.

The Draugr Overlord really didn't break a sweat lol. He got slowed down due to the ice effect but still kicked his ass. The dragon priest on the other hand got absolutely obliterated by Malkorans ice storm spam...

Those goddamn Corrupted Shades were so annoying for my lvl 100 character. I think Malkoran has the Extra Damage 2.0 perk, those Ice Storms hit harder than other Cryo mages.

I can imagine, they have a lot of health! 😂 That perk doesn't affect magic. He does have Augmented Frost 2 for a 50% damage boost, but the reason why he does so much more damage is that his ice storms can do damage multiple times. It's a general behavior during his boss fight, and other NPCs get buffed the same way. A single ice storm can exceed 1000 damage, but it's very random. My next video will show some extreme results!

@@liamyuki2316 It's very inconsistent. The highest I've seen was slightly over 1000. The lowest was the default damage (60 because he has augmented frost) 😄

We definitely need to see more of Mercer Frey. Some opponents he could face: Isran, Ulfric Stormcloak, General Tullius, Kematu, Madanach, Irileth, Kodlak Whitemane, Skjor & Vilkas.

Mercer kills all of them in seconds flat, none of them have any meaningful perks and Mercer is one of the strongest dual wielding characters in the game

Interesting ideas. 🤔 I too think it would give Mercer a very easy time, but a few quick rounds at first wouldn't hurt. I do need to test Madanach at some point too! He might or might not make for a good episode on his own. Anyway, thanks for the ideas!

1. Correct me if I'm wrong but Malkoran's Ice Storm is a unique spell that takes less mana to cadt and does more damage, right? If so then his damage makes sense 2. They actually came REALLY close to killing the Ebony Warrior. Though tbf, a part of it was his AI fighting defensively for the first half, taking unnecessary damage. Its only once his HP was critical that he started getting agressive and flipped the fight in his favor almost immediately.

1. He uses the generic Ice Storm spell like many other NPCs as well as the player, with the same damage and magicka cost. The reason why he does so much more damage is that the spell gets buffed massively during his boss fight. In general, an Ice Storm can hit a target twice sometimes, dealing the damage a second time. This is possible for every NPC and for the player at any point, but it's rather rare. During Malkoran's fight, they can stack many more times and with a massively increased chance, making them extremely deadly potentially, but also very inconsistent. 2. You're right! The Ebony Warrior focuses too much on blocking with his shield up, but attacks very aggressively when using spells instead. That's when things get intense 😎

1:57 Hamelyn doesn't f- around with those dual fire ball attacks, I remember getting jumpscared by those fireballs while sneaking around his secret layer as a thief. But he went fisting as soon as his mana depleted just like what happens here. 😅 Meanwhile fighting Malkoran is also another reason why i hated picking that damn Beacon.😅 He's too Overpowered for the required level.

Boss video made again from the boss himself, Islendermaster! This Malkoran video was interesting at the kind of crazy offensive power Malkoran has. Normal Dragon Priest stood no chance but Dukaan put him in his place. Also 6:29 🤣🤣🤣🤣 When I heard that I knew it was all over for Malkoran at that point.

The arena was hugely unfavorable to Malkoran's spellcasting opponents: due to the shape of the upper step, AI's chicken brains couldn't sidestep to avoid his slow-moving spells because that would've either meant also walking forward (ranged AI prefers to keep the distance even if the opponent is also ranged), or stepping down to a different step.

I envy how high damage malkoran's spell is. I wish we were able to increase spell damage to this point through difficult quests in the game. Only than, mage builds would be extremely rewarding like warrior builds.

Its why I prefer Ordinator as a perk overhaul mod. It basically makes your spells scale with your Skill level in a particular tree (more damage, lesser cost, more effective Level Range etc) It actually makes a dedicated Mage build more worthwhile.

That would be nice, wouldn't it? But here's a little tip: Use ice storm when you fight Malkoran during the quest. You'll get the same result as he does 😆

@@kemalturgut9127 Fair enough! I avoid most big mods too, but I do have a few smaller ones. For exmaple: bugfixes, environmental graphics, and UI stuff like the floating healthbars. But I've played Skyrim on PS3 since 2012 and only switched to PC 2 years ago, so modding wasn't essential for me for the longest time either 😄

8:44 the pressure that is on this moment! Ew almost passed, happy that he won. Between Malkoran and Marcurio, it was hot between two mages who used their magic shield. What's monstrous about Malkoran is that he has HUGE damage from ice spells, and when he strafes, he causes total carnage. Too bad for him that a vampire nighmaster and Ildari are much stronger than him, at least Festus Krex is not wrong, when you focus more on destruction spells, you can wreak havoc
