You have no idea how much you have just made my day. I have been playing this game for around 9 years and had no clue you could disenchant the solitude shield and use the resist magic enchantment TWICE! That is crazy to me! That is amazing! I hate magic so much in this game yet love it at the same time. I always make a point of trying to make my builds as resistant to magic as I possibly can so I can just essentially shrug off whenever someone is shooting me with magic and just strike them down or if I'm getting pelted by dragon fire I can just tank it. But then main reason is I'll be honest a more stupid reason. Purely for that stupid quest in the Labrynthian with the stupid soul gems all in that one hallway room area that shoot fire at you and for me never fail to one shot me. Ever since then I always level up my alteration to 100 and even then it can still sometimes one shot me or bring my health down so low that I can get killed with only one more shot. So any resist magic enchants are super helpful. I want to be able to if I walk across a rune trap to not be even phased one bit. I love the atronach effect too where you see the swirl surrounding you as you instead absorb the magic to use it for yourself lol. So satisfying. I'm just like a mad evil scientist at that point like "YES! DO IT AGAIN! HIT ME MORE! I WANT YOU TO HIT ME AGAIN! I WANT TO WATCH AS YOUR EFFORTS FAIL BEFORE YOUR EYES!" You may ask, "Are you sure it is an evil scientist and not a masochist or sadist?" To that I answer you, "Mind your business and don't ask me difficult questions to answer." 😂😂

Very well rounded explanation of this skill imo as a seasoned Skyrim player. I only have two critiques and it is so minor that it hardly matters. It's your pronunciation of 'Chitin.' Like I said, it's a small critique. Correct pronunciation (atleast in the American dialect) sounds like 'Kite' 'tin' or 'Kite-in'. This is how to correctly pronounce the word according to the dictionary (if that detail matters to people, idk). Anyways, my second is based on my understanding of how you gain xp in the block skill tree. I believe you gain more xp the more damage you block per hit. If that is the case, DO NOT wait until you are level 95 to introduce perks into the block skill tree, but instead, add your perk points to the necessary skills in Block as you reach the necessary level to "purchase" them with your perk points.
@joelpierce14532 жыл бұрын

One thing I'd like to point out to people is if you're playing any of the pre-special edition versions of skyrim the quick reflexes perk is glitched and it'll sometimes leave everything permanently in slow mode until you wait, quit out or load/reload an area. Also the glitch will even slow down the process of waiting, so if you use waiting to diagnose the glitch don't think the game is frozen if it takes extra long to wait that 1 hour to fix the bug. This can be really funny and op because it allows you to essentially neo your way through an entire level and kill/loot everything without taking any damage because you've slowed down time to the point where enemies barely even have time to aggro on to you before dying let alone get a hit off. It can also be really weird and wonky as well though because when the game glitches like this it messes up your sensitivity and the overall movement of your camera. Overall not something too serious as it's not something that will crash your game or anything and is pretty easily fixable, but just something I thought everyone should know before deciding if they want to use it on their build or not.

Damage reduction is hardcapped in Skyrim. 80% from armor(567 armor) and 85% when blocking. So you still take damage from blocking arrows with the Deflect Arrows perk. About Bashing(which is big part when using a shield and you did not talk about): The "best" bash damage is a Two-handed weapon. Bashing with Two-handed weapon deal more damage than a shield. The best "item" for bashing is 'Vegetable Soup' which makes you able to spam bash for 720 seconds. source: wiki and testing you should check the wiki and do some testing before making these guides.

1 small error I noticed: If you're using the spellbreaker, the elemental protection perk doesn't really matter much anymore. The ward generated functions like any other ward; it blocks -all- incoming damage from magical effects unless it's shattered. In the case of dragon's breath, even the lowly lesser ward spell is adequate 99% of the time because of how dragon's breath ticks damage onto the target. The ward on spellbreaker is between the lesser and steadfast wards in power so it gets pretty dicey against mid and late game mages. Tell ya what feels like an absolute baller move though. Roll up into Morvunskar (just south of Windhelm) with a greater ward while under the effects of shalidor's insights on restoration and a maxed out fortify restoration potion and watch a whole squad of enemy mages pound uselessly on your magical brick-wall while you zap-fry them with chain-lightning in turn. Epic.
@asasd4403 жыл бұрын
You could do that but just stack the magic resistence from enchants, use the standing stone that grants you resistence. if youre breton you get extra resistence. then you get perk that resist 50% damage from frost fire etc and youre basically immune to shit anyway. if you really wanna go over the top go on the alteration skill tree and get the extra magic resist, with necromage, breaks the cap and puts even higher.
@KelbPanthera3 жыл бұрын
@@asasd440 magic resistance is capped at 80% before difficulty adjustment. Absorb magick isn't but getting it to 100% requires either necromage vampire or defeating Miraak. The ward just no-sells incoming magic.
@asasd4403 жыл бұрын
@@KelbPanthera with necromage you can break the cap. plus you arent reliant on magicka. if youre non magic build.
@KelbPanthera3 жыл бұрын
@@asasd440 Just double-checked manually. Necromage vamp with the sum of my resist magic effects in the active effects tab was 119% and the dragon at bonestrewn crest barbequed me no problem. All of the damage resistances, physical from armor or blocking and magical from magic resist or element resist are hard-coded to cap at 80%. You can combine element and magic resist to get 96% total but some still gets through. That applies after the absorbtion check if you have one or another version of that. On magicka cost, there's a number of ways to deal with it even if you're not a mage build. Easiest is the secret of arcana from one of the black-books; no cost at all for spellcasting for 1 minute 1/day. Elsewyr fondue and a couple top-quality fortify magicka items or fort restoration items can also do a long way. Shalidor's insights scrolls cut cost in half and increase magnitude by half-again so they're always worth the side-quest to have a few if you're gonna use any magic at all. I'll admit you do *need* the appropriate level restoration perk (novice/ apprentice/ adept) for wards to be a realistic option but you're likely to grab those for heals anyway. If you are a mage and you don't want to waste low-level xp on one or another armor skill, you're gonna need wards to keep up on your armor rating anyway. Better to learn to wield them well sooner than later. I get it, man. I wrote wards off at first too. They're well worth the effort though.

@@KelbPanthera im not sure how you were flamed that bad. Atm in legendary i can simply stand at breath weapon or magic and laugh it off. As a general rule of thumb, left side of skill tree is for shields, right side is for weapons. Say you had a 100 skill one-handed character with 100% armsman a daedric dagger does 33 damage. Add the x5 bash perk you’d do 165 damage. But armour resistance will lower that number. Least that’s how I think it works, however as an assassin I’d rather use poison. Maxed lingering damage health poison combined with concentrated poison perk is over 300 damage And totally ignores armour.
