Skyrim: Four Unique Player House Mods

Love house mods, you could do a simple walk through the estate looking around and exploring the estate, rather than making a summary of what you experienced. This way it would be less time consuming and you'd have more funny natural reactions. Love your channel

My favourite house mod is Erethful Isle. It's a small island in the north-east of Summerset, which you see on the map in ESO, but you can't reach it. You can reach the island in the mod from either a boat near Solitude, or a wayshrine in Falkreath. The mod is heavily inspired by the ESO Summerset expansion in terms of design. It features a short quest involving the Maomer, who physically appear as a new type of enemy, and the backstory is told through journals. The quest rewards you with a set of Psijic robes, which are normally unobtainable in the game, with an enchantment which reduces the cost of destruction spells to nothing, new unique spells, plus some lore books from ESO, and a new homestead which comes stocked with the spider crafting station, the other crafting stations, a bunch of mannequins, and several new crafting materials. The design and detail in the mod is incredible, especially since it's made entirely using in-game assets, meaning that it's available on PS4, which as a PS4 player, I really appreciate. If this mod was on Creation Club, I would spend money to own it which tells you a lot on the quality of the mod.

I would have added a mod called “The Field Lab 2.” It is by far my favorite house mod; it’s very well done, has fantastic utility (you can literally summon it to wherever you are so long as there is room), and is made in the style of a miniature mushroom house that the dark elves use.

This. I use the Field Lab too for its irreplaceable utility. You can conjure it anywhere with enough room (including Blackreach) to (safely!) sleep, store stuff and enjoy the awesome view from above, and even fast travel back to wherever you left it. It also comes with some Telvanni stuff with unique functions. You can buy schematics to add crafting stations (great immersion). Not to mention that it's a cozy floating little mushroom grown by a certain famous Telvanni mage. It's the No.1 house in Skyrim i want IRL.

Tel Nalta is another good Telvanni style home mod. It's similar to Blackthorn in that it's also a town building mod, except each building is in the Telvanni style. It's in Lake Illinata. Azura's quest is still doable by going into the fortress the back way.

I feel like the remoteness/hard-to-get-to-ness of where the vanilla spider enchanter is makes it a majorly non-used item/s in vanilla. By moving it to your home, it makes it a usable option for those of us who disable fast travel in their modded play, for one.

The Telvanni mushroom towers don't grow by themselves though - they are made by them in a complicated process that requires constant supervision, magic, soulgems (Morrowind) and some organic ingridients (Skyrim).

I completely agree with you on your house preferences, George. A kid author could make a “hole in the ground” house mod and have three chests and a smith station and I’d use it.

Actually, the constructable shacks mod lets you create small caves/basements. Use it with other mods like Campfire and various add-ons and you have a barrow/shack with an anvil.

Snowglobe house inception... Priceless, George, simply priceless :) Have you considered covering outlaws and revolutionaries by Thuggysmurf? It's still free on his discord. But, he pulled it from Nexus due to "adult content" which is BS. I played it, enjoyed it and found nothing that would get more that a PG13 movie rating. And it was fun! It does take a very hard swing at BGS and Creation Club. I especially enjoyed that. :) Just thinking out loud. Love the channel.

To be honest I've always enjoyed video's like this more in the lets play format. You could just record yourself exploring each house and it would be something I'd personally prefer to watch than a video like this which I assume would take more time on your part to put together.

Kagrenac's instant fortress - not too big, good 'follower' storage, and no need to fast travel.

Destructible terrain. Use fire spell on snow, snow melts, then creates little puddles, or melt the snow until you get to the regular dirt ground. Use ice spell to freeze water. Maybe have AI that reacts to terrain change in real time.

Love the Morrowind-inspired mods! Have you seen the Velothi Palace? It's in Eastmarch, in the hillside, not far from the Dwemer ruins, and across from Steamcrag Camp. It's just like stepping into a Velothi tower in Molag Amur! --Albeit a bit grander. Still.

These houses are ok, I just wish the Redguard one was in the worldspace not it's own. For me practicality is everything. No one has seemingly made a perfect player home yet, even after all these years.

One of the house mods I enjoy is Tel Nalta, it gets rid of the Lady Stone and replaces it with a Telvanni-style home (though you do have to grow it yourself), complete with the music you hear when in Solsteim and your own silt strider! Have you covered it yet?

Idk if it’s in the video or not but I used to use this house mod that was like a bag you carried and whenever you used it you got teleported into it. Pretty useful, can’t remember the name of that mod tho

I really don't like house-mods with no requirements to own them. As a role-player it's incredibly immersion-breaking for me. Another pet peeve of mine is house mods that's filled with items that I can't interact with. It's especially annoying when those homes come with armour stands and staff barrels that display non-existing items. I want to display my armour or weapons, not hide them away.

Gotta be honest, I wouldn't use any of these. One thing I'm surprised nobody has made is Ancient Nordic style homes. It would be pretty cool to build a mid-sized stonework home with an ancient nordic theme to them, or even a Colovian-nordic theme like the houses found in Bruma.

@Plysdyret1 I don't know if you still are after an answer, but here is one anyway. Lore is the body of knowledge about a particular topic. In this context it is the history and backstory of the Elder Scrolls world. So if something is described as lore-friendly it fits in with the lore of that world or region, without seeming out of place.
