Fun little trick for anyone newly looking for how to do this dungeon, I actually went around to the back entrance, went all the way down to the gate, used my Relenting Force against the boss - which woke him up and had him charge at the gate - then I burned him down with fire (since fire goes through the gate). You could probably use arrows too, no clue, I’ve just enjoyed burning him. When you get to the end of the puzzles and open the Dragons Claw door, you’re presented with your reward for killing the boss immediately. Lastly, be mindful of what level you enter this place as... when EOS entered, he got Elven stuff due to his level; when I entered, I got steel stuff due to only being level 10 (plus my Smithing was at an abysmal level - though I doubt that mattered any).

For me it was just another horned steel helmet named Helm of Yngol. Also, encountered Draugr Overlord instead of the spirit and once i had defeated it the button to open the barred gate didnt work so i had to go all the way back where i came from. While returning the helm the dialogue stuck and didn't get the reward. But i knew this was a glitch so o saved the game to reload it, all the rewards that was meant came to me.

This burrow glitched out for me, the helmet and skeleton were not there and Yngol's shade didn't have a spectral appearance instead he looked like a normal draugr. And when I went to Birna's oddments she gave me the claw even though I already had the claw for the burrow. Do you know why this is happening and if I can get the helmet?

My main Nord wears the full set of Ancient Nordic Armour minus the helmet so I could wear this one, the beard clips on the regular helmet but not this one, I've also found I'm an absolute monster against any ice enemies

there are other caves that you can get ebony weapons at level 1. You can get an ebony bow, warhammer, and sword

I went there yesterday, I was level 32. The guy was way too powerful for me to beat him, plus he keeps using the unrelenting force shout which doesn't do too much damage but is annoying as fuck. So I used the ethereal shout, stole his shit and left. The helmet really helped when I went back to Whiterun and a Frost Dragon showed up. Totally worth the effort.

I couldn’t find the Helm of Yngol in the crypt. It wasn’t on the throne and Yngol’s shade wasn’t there for some reason; it was just another death lord. But I could find it in one of my other character’s profile.

If you already had it once but sold it/lost it, it does not spawn to yngols barrow or birna again, or birna might be dead also. I made mistake selling it in my first playtrough, had no other option than commands: player.Additem 000B634C 1 I dont use command for anything else than to fix bugs, so still feel bad about this, and learned not to sell everything from my other charecters :D

Am I the only on who killed the final boss through the door at the end from the opposite side? I was exploring the frozen tundra when I came across the exit of this dungeon. It wasn't marked like the entrance so I had no idea what that door would lead me to. Went in, down, saw the boss through the iron door, killed him with magic and then I noticed that I couldn't open the gate so THEN I went through the dungeon proper... not that there was anything to go through at that point. Has no one else done that, by accident or not? Not even google would give me anything like that. Was so confused when I did it.

Instead of Yngol's skeleton sitting in the chair, a Draugr Deathlord was there. Is that supposed to happen. (The Deathlord only dropped an Ebony War Axe and some gold.)

So For some reason it didn;t spawn and the door woundn't open for that other chest, I spent almost 3 hours trying to find out why before coming to this video then going to the wiki, The wiki said there's a second way to get in for the chest so I got in that way, What I found in the chest was 6 gold. Nothing else. Just 6 Frickin gold.

I'ld like to note that there is an annoying glitch with this particular quest. You should save your game before you even enter just incase it occurs! Sometimes a normal Drauger Deathlord will spawn instead of the shade. If this happens, the helm won't spawn either. So the quest that helm is for (thane of winterhold) can't be completed. Skyrim wiki has methods on how to fix this glitch should it occur. Does suck that you have to give up that helm if you want to do the the Thane quest though.

You have to get the 'Helm of Winterhold' which was in a shipwreck for mine. Maybe it is because I am a low level. I also had to help 3 people of Winterhold instead of getting the Helm but I did have to go get the Helm still.

For me the ebony sword Was damage 66 but I didn’t want it cuse I have. Weapon of damage 75 was 99 when darger Had it hit for whatever reason when I grabs it it went down 😭🤦🏻‍♀️

I didn’t know that there was a shade that was supposed to spawn, for me he just stood up and started shouting at me as a drauger, and he had no ebony weapon, also I was either level 2 or 13 hard to tell, also the helm was not a unique helmet it was just a steel horned helmet that weighed more and had a bit more armour with no enchantment, and I was trying to figure out how to open the iron gate for a few minutes, even tried sitting in the throne, then I figured it probably opens from the other side, also he had two helmets on his drauger body the helm and a steal horned helmet, also the supposed grave sword was just a regular steel great sword. I think I managed to break the game without even knowing it, like many other games, and was the trap where you pull the lever supposed to go infinitely?

I did this at a level 13 and it was a drauger Wright lord at the end that I had to fight and the gate won't open. Can somebody please tell me how to fix this and why it was like this and I got no ebony weapon, It would be great if somebody could respond. And your videos are top quality

It isn't the only place you can get ebony weaponry from. I got a ebony bow at low level somewhere inside a tomb in 'Labyrinthian' (Is that what it is called?). No hate :)

I thought I had to sit (I had Lydia with me, but then I realized she was not a man) on the throne while a follower walks to the lever to pull it. I used the coral claw for another mission and think I sold it. Then I find out I still need it but can no longer remember where I sold it. Anybody else have this problem. From what I can find out I can no longer buy it again nor find it so I am locked out of the barrow and cant finish the mission.

I had to do it backwards as when i entered the barrow from the front entrance everything was black and could only turn around and exit, the iron gate and dragon claw door can be wooden plate & whirlwind sprinted through!!!🖖😁

I think ESO's easy lockpicking method only works on consoles. I've tried it on PC and it doesn't work. That, or they've patched it
