A lot of people have been asking for the modlist, it's Serenity 2 Version 1.6 from Wabbajack. The additional mods I added are listed below: Sorry for the abysmal format, it was just the easiest way to only show the additions I've made. I put [nodelete] in front of some of them because I was updating at the time and this prevents wabbajack from deleting them. Also, some of the mods are already in Serenity 2 but I moved them lower in the order for compatibiliy. Thank you for sharing, how hard was it to install serenity 2?? I am very, very low on the modding scene. I use vortex and had to use many guides to use requiem, so my question is of serenity takes a ton of folder/PC knowledge should I just keep my vortex files instead?

@@austinclark6385 Wabbajack IA a really nice tool for auto installing modlists. I recommend watching a video on it as there are some good guides, but the gist of it is you download the program, open it up, select skyrim special edition and browse for the list you want to install. There will be a download button which will then take care of the whole installation process for you. You need to read the Readme before you start your install as there will be instructions on what you need to do before installing. You will need a fresh install of skyrim and certain applications installed on your PC for the auto install to work. If you want it fully automated you will also need to have a premium membership with the Nexus, otherwise you will have to click every mod to download.

@@austinclark6385 Yes, as all modlists use MO2 so it would be good to learn. The biggest then with MO2 is the two boxes of lists. The left one shows all your mods added to your mod organizer, if they are checked then they become active, and if active if they have an .esp they will appear on the right pane showing you your active esps and esms. Modding gets easier with experience, so the more you watch KZbin tutorials and practice, the easier it gets.

I remember when I first played with Requiem and died to the three wolves and the Embershard Mine guard at the door as if I was made of jelly. Then I remember being terrified just by the noise of the flock of birds flying as you cross the Riverwood bridge, laughting afterwards. I know Requiem isn't perfect and some late enemies are just ridiculous, such as Enchanted Spheres, Dragon Priests and Invisible Entities, but I can assure those who doesn't know Requiem: It's hard to go back to Vanilla or to use other mods (I know I tried and couldn't).

Depending on how meta you go, some late game builds are... well, perfect for late game. But that's the fun. You don't play Requiem to get 100% completion in 1 playthrough. You experiment with the builds and have fun.

Invisibility entities/Slighted was fun because they were unique without forcing you to do a DPS check. Enchanted Spheres, Dragon Priests and Ebony vampire were bullshit because they were designed so that if you don't kill them in under 10 seconds, you're pretty much dead. Most of everything else in this mod is hard to let go (except for the number values, in which case I like Vanilla's smaller numbers for coins and gear stats)

Dude, as someone who just stumbled upon this while looking to get into requiem, thank you! I've played close to 2,000 hours of various Skyrim incarnations but I've never had the drive to try requiem. I love the more challenging gameplay systems, but it felt daunting to dive into blind. Watching this video has really made me want to give it a go. Very well researched, paced and produced. Better yet (if you have the hard drive space, 180 goddamn gigs), Wildlander, the SE "sequel" to Ultimate Skyrim, just released. The thing about Wildlander is it's really not just a Wabbajack modlist any more. It has a launcher with visual presets. I've watched some of the authors dev streams (there were a LOT of them) and the author has gone through pretty much every city mod in the CK and taken the best bits of each (Solitude in particular is *massive* now.) It's been at least a year of work. The amount of effort gone into making sure every mod adds to the experience in a polished way is crazy.

They should call this "the blueball overhaul" You'll spend half an hour working your way through enemies 2 levels under you only to end up fighting a boss 40 levels above you, forcing you to leave the dungeon the way you came or just god moding it which kind of defeats the purpose of Requiem in the first place. If a dwemer ruin has a Lvl 70 Automaton at the end of it, don''t put in nothing but Lvl 21 enemies in it. Give the player some kind of indication that they will NOT be able to finish the dungeon. Being turned away at every dungeon entrance wouldn't be too annoying, but being turned away once i've invested a ton of time and resource into it IS

I understand where you are coming from. I practically view Requiem as the game now, and there are mods for requiem to better balance things. Also, the current dev is working hard to breath new life into vanilla requiem. I’d highly recommend checking out 3tweaks if you’re more into the gameplay aspects and less about RP. Or check out Noxcrabs addon mods, there are a few others like Skills of the Scoundrel or something (not familiar with that one) and maybe Requiem for a Knave if it continues getting updated. Personally, I’ve fallen out of the enjoyment of RP and found fun within the build variety and challenging gameplay of 3tweaks

Thank you for this, it has a lot of good info. What I would have liked to know as a total beginner is that Human Enemies are not at all affected by the Stamina system aside from not being able to PowerAttack. It has been quite an experience being bashed around by Bandits with 0 Stamina and being Disarmed, yet never being able to punish them for wasting their stamina.

Insane content greed! I've been playing Serinity 2 for 2 months and I'm in love with it! Best Modpack combination ever! I have a lot exp modding skyrim with requiem but I've never seen nothing so well builded as S2, impressive! I've added feel life quality mods as bijin aio. Ex: honed metal, blood and dirty, achieve that (plays very well with requiem giving you nice bonus for completing tasks), summermyst, customizable camera, directional mov, smoothcam, dual sheath redux (for shields on the back), bandoliers, smart cast, gamepad++ since i hate keyboard and mouse for play, open face helmets, edb random encounters (only for bandits and animal encounters), amourous quest for new quests and immersive items, treasure hunter mods for immersion, Sofia + a patch a did for her, convenient horses oldrim converted 5.0, easy wheel menu, EFF for followers control more precisely and finally, darkend + requiem path I did because I think plays with requiem perfectly! So far so perfect! Serenity is my way to go for good! I will not changing for anything. Wildlander is insane and by far, the most well done project by Dylan but, it goes to far from vanilla requiem for my taste. But I can't wait to see you and others guys I follow play the new Usky (Wildlander) making entire playthroughs! Cheers bro and happy new year! ;)

- mammoth and sometimes even dragons can be your friend. some tough enemies can be kited towards them. example being Ron the Crow. - dwemer centurions often have traps nearby that can be triggered with a lever. Those spinning traps will take them out in seconds. - there is blacksmith powder you can craft that is VERY powerful. it's expensive to make, it requires Atronach salts, but it's really strong. fire for dragonpriests, lightning for the enchanted spheres. 7 or 8 of those used rapidly will take them out in seconds.

Hey Greed, awesome guide! I think this really will help out newbies who are having trouble getting into Requiem. As a side note, I think wards should be mentioned! Wards are the kind of things newer players (myself included) ignore, completely missing out on a powerful defensive tool that can protect against arrows and shouts. Even starting Lesser Ward is enough to protect you from drain vitality or force shouts, and can be the difference between life and death.

i remember my first ever playthrough of requiem as an orsimer. i was doing heavy armor and twohanded, using some basic alchemy for the healing and utility, as well as smithing for acquiring gears obviously. slowly crept my way into advanced gears, full daedric armor, no enchantments, swapped the helmet for aetherium crown to get warrior and lord stones. invested some in shouts to get that extra utility... the first ever time i got to sovengard to fight alduin, i was so scared, i heard he had some awful summons and debuffs, i had prepped potions to heal through his things. took my trusty smithed daedric battleaxe in hand, shouted dragon rend at him, chugged damage white phial, activated berserker rage, i took down the world eater in a single hit, no more alduin. for anyone reading that as a newcomer to requiem, if your end goal is to be a mindless tank, the only way is to be a restoration master (or at least expert). any build not using high level restoration will have to be smart about his damage taken. i say that because i was a bit surprised that heavy armor and smithing alone were never enough to reach absurd defense.

I’ve never ever used alchemy before in vanilla Skyrim and seeing the perks for it in requiem it’s like holy cow so darn good. Basically use alchemy to make elixirs and poisons for combat and for sneaking and assassinate anyone, I know I could have choose a race that would benefit more for the class I chose but heck I am having fun and my character doesn’t die easy anymore and I am on the early stages of the game I cannot wait for later game play. I tend to quit when things get too tough though...haha (what a wimp!) After the thousands of hours of playing Skyrim on all systems and in lots of forms, I'm not even sure if I've ever really beat the main game/DLC's........but it's been an awesome ride. The devs should be groveling and kissing the feet of modders for sure. What a gift that keeps on giving, because of all their hard work. Tip your modders peeps!!!

By Talos, it's a good thing I watched this video before I started spending more time in requiem. Keep your distance at maximum range to bait attacks, stun animals, run around corners like in dbd, don't get hit because you can lose all your stamina through frost magic, get shot down by an arrow or be stunned by plunge. It seems that 70% of success in combat is abusing AI and bashig, which is not fun for me. The prep work tho is nice and I love when one need to engage in more systems. I hate how in requiem a lot of the answer to dangerous enemies like staff wielding bandits, big automatons, dragons, etc, is to use tools from outside ur character's architype. For example if I'm a pure warrior, the best way to deal with a staff bandit is to use a spell, or if I'm a light armor archer that doesn't use spells, I have to use a spell made to remedy my weakness to magic even if my character doesn't use any magic. IMO the best way to deal with a dangerous enemy should be always inside ur character's theme and architype. NO worrier should ever feel forced to use a spell to deal with a specific enemy. No mage should even need a bow either, and no thief should ever need to burst down a scary foe with a two handed mace.
@theamazingdagger5584
@theamazingdagger5584 2 жыл бұрын
Fr rarely play Skyrim without this. Disagree with Altmer though, I’ve found that if you take enchanting, you can do anything else you want with it. First run was an altmer ranger, and as long as you consider that weakness, using two handed or archery is tenable and in some respects more powerful, and you can spend later perk investment in a combat tree in a magic skill instead.
@GreedGaming01
@GreedGaming01 2 жыл бұрын
Sure it's doable but there's no denying that you start off with a glaring weakness. You can't easily have maxed out Enchanting and level 75 Alteration for mid game so you have decent MR to tackle that content. Plus having to rely on entire skill tree and invest all those perks just to balance out 1 weakness is something no other race has to do, which is why Altmer get their own tier.

@@GreedGaming01 you can though, and when you consider how few magic enemies early game has it’s not too bad at all. It’s a weakness that by the time it really needs to addressed most players will have already just by finding gear.

Love this guide! I've been a long time fan and this really helped cause it is still quite a steep learning curve. I thought that the Requiem is meant for RP and the feeling of adventure and yet I see the vast majority of the community is focused entirely on gearing up with the absolute best hand placed gear, or meta gaming. Or that Requiem has built in DPS checks that kinda ruin the idea of your build finally coalescing into something powerful enough How do you combat this? Personally its difficult enough as it is not knowing the interactions of requiem overall so forcing myself to ignore the most common advice for example the silver katana in Bleak falls for the sake of enjoying the idea of accomplishment without any help. Also would you be interested in a mod for Requiem that I've been cooking up on paper but never attempted crafting, the idea being making it closer to Rogue lite status by shuffling just guaranteed spawns around forcing even the most mega meta players to experience the fear of dungeon delving and wonder of opening a chest to find exactly what you hoped for
@GreedGaming01
@GreedGaming01 2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Requiem was made by D&D players to be a more Roleplay intensive game. Definitely can't deny there are a lot of meta gamers out there, myself included, that are always looking for ways to push their builds to the limit. For the people that want to truly roleplay the game they will have to accept that limitations placed on your character for RP purposes will cause you to not be strong enough to complete certain content and I believe that is perfectly okay. My preference of playing is DiD which tends to lean more to the meta gamey side of things. To your point about making changes to spice up the world, this is great for people who want to RP but I'd imagine most Dead is Dead players wouldn't care for it becuase we know the world so well that when we play DiD to challenge our capabilities of game knowledge. I think everyone should find their own personal play style they enjoy and just have fun. Just becuase it was made with roleplay in mind doesn't mean the meta gamers shouldn't meta game and search for the best gear and power level.
@bossdozz
@bossdozz 2 жыл бұрын
@@GreedGaming01 yes of course by being into the RP aspect I must also accept limitations to that end, I just hate content gate kept. I will one day prove the strength of my Requiem farmer build lol The DnD aspect of Requiem is what I think cements it as the GOAT mod in any game, it takes concepts from a completely diffrent genre and style of gaming and makes skyrim so close to the perfect dnd game, if they ever get Skytogether with requiem in a clean state itll be a true RPG experience As for the mod, ideas stay ideas haha the only other one I had in mind for Requiem is taking the CC unarmed gauntlets and making them fit in the power scale and giving unarmed playthroughs a teeny buff across the board
@GreedGaming01
@GreedGaming01 2 жыл бұрын
@@bossdozz I think inherently RP creates meta gaming. Builds like "being a farmer" in a realistic world would require you to hunt down powerful items so you stand a fighting chance. @ElusiveWex
@ElusiveWex 2 жыл бұрын
In-game difficulty doesn't affect anything in requiem. You probably installed it wrong, a bandit will die from 20 arrows only if he's in high tier heavy armor and you are level 1 without any archery perks and have no stamina. And bow deals poor damage to heavy armor, crossbow will be better in that case. You get one shotted because you don't wear armor and eating attacks from charged two handers. You get spotted because you didn't level sneak properly and you probably create a lot of noise. Pure requiem is easy, the only way to suffer is being greedy or do not pay attention to your build.

Looking at playing Skyrim again, been years. Requiem was good, but if I recall, it's only hard the first few levels. I would level alchemy (as this guide points out) and I remember I would do the Companions tryout early. You just let the guy you have to fight keep hitting your shield to level blocking. You can also do 1 point in necro and summon skeletons then hit them and have them attack you. Once you get a few levels, the game becomes playable, then a joke by the mid - high levels. Thats always the issue - it's a struggle to become strong, but once you are strong, the game just gets boring and I quit. I think they went a LITTLE overboard on stamina. That is probably my biggest Requiem gripe. I wish it were more like Dark Souls/Elden Ring where you get stronger, but enemies are always dangerous. Yeah I know people can beat the whole game naked with a butter knife but if they get hit they get hurt/killed. Anyway, I have been told now its better to use a combo of combat/magic/perk/enemy mods and that is better then Requiem, anyone have insight on that?
@Cy4nMod
@Cy4nMod 4 ай бұрын
So you cheese the game to rush to mid game but then go do early game stuff and then wonder why it's a "joke"? There are difficult enemies at all stages of the game you just clearly aren't doing them
@Cruor34
@Cruor34 4 ай бұрын
@@Cy4nMod The only hard things are dragons, dragon priests and Dwemr Giant robots. Once you get some decent gear and potions 90% of enemies which are Darugar and bandits are a joke. Bandits have 6 stages in requiem, the upper tier bandits have a lot of perks but they have low health, so they are easy kills. Don't tell me what I'm not doing, rofl. I'm willing to bet I know WAAAY more about every enemies health/armor/resists/attack speed etc etc values than you do. There are literally 4 types of enemies in caves: Bandits, Darugar/Skeletons, Falmer and Dwemer stuff. Did I miss something? The odd Troll? Requiem is good, but it has flaws. It relies on a lot of annoying crap to be "hard" like spiders and falmer poison paralyzing you. Being frozen and falling on the fall like a statue isn't "hard" it's just annoying and dumb. Especially the logic of arrows can't pierce heavy armor, yet spider fangs and falmer poisons can. So Ill say again: Unless you do some things to "cheese" to train up a bit, the early game is absolutely overly brutal, but once you do, yes, everything minus 3 enemy types is a joke.
@Cy4nMod
@Cy4nMod 4 ай бұрын
@@Cruor34 I've been playing since the Xarrian days, I doubt you know more than me when it comes to requiem. The fact that you said the hardest enemies are only the enemies referenced in this video when there are more tells me everything I need to know about what you know. That "annoying crap to be hard" is called preparation. If you want to fight spiders you need resistance, pretty standard RPG stuff for any RPG that isn't just a hand holding simulator. If you cheese your way through the game it's going to be a joke, that is literally every game. Play like a normal person and you won't have that problem.
