If anyone is having issues making it work while having Skyrim SE installed on a micro-SD card, I managed to fix it by making a sym link from SD card's `common/Skyrim Special Edition` to SSD's `common/Skyrim Special Edition` then run the ‎skyrim-post-deploy thing

@@aldinmikara64 Thanks for providing this help! There was some trouble automating this with the script since there’s 2 different folder names that Skyrim SE can be located from depending on how the micro SD card was setup on the Steam Deck, and I believe sudo permissions might be needed on at least one of them for access. To make things as simple as possible for everyone, I wanted to avoid that but will try to make this better soon. For now, installing the game onto the Internal drive is recommended so it’ll just work and also have guaranteed performance.

Hi, I followed all these instructions but I can't map the controls properly. I map them as you've done but when I open Skyrim and press the mapped buttons nothing happens, do you have any idea what the problem might be?

Did you install SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender)? It might be a bug that SKSE usually causes. Or did you load your save first? Maybe use the Uninstall instructions at the end to start over, but you probably don't need to reinstall the game if you already did it at the start. Make sure it's mapped to F2

I just did a factory reset of my Steam Deck and realized something was missing. The script is updated now, so uninstall with the instructions from 16:44 and try again please

So saw this vid, amazing work. I was a little new to modding and wanted to go back to single player without uninstalling so I just hit undo but still won’t work. Do I have to go back to square one?

What do you mean when you say it won’t work? After using the Undo script on the desktop, also go into Vortex and disable or just uninstall the mods. Press Deploy in Vortex if it appears. But yes, if that still doesn’t work, you may have to uninstall. You might not need to waste time reinstalling the game though, just follow the part at 16:44, and if you want to play multiplayer again later, you don’t have to paste the commands in Konsole which deletes Vortex and everything. I would like to soon make this even more simple where it might just install (copy/symlink) all of this to a separate folder without wasting extra storage space and have its own icon in Steam, where you could easily play single player or multiplayer and stop any confusion on switching between them. It’s just a little tricky to do on the Steam Deck to make it as simple as possible for everyone.

@@InternalErrorX nevermind I figured it out. So I just hit Undo STR which disables the mod on Skyrim and play single player. To put it back on I just hit Deploy str and update str to see if I missed some files and I got it back working.

I follow the steps faithfully but when I get to the first time hittinf play on Skyrim. It does not start the game at all. The play button starts to launch and then just returns to the play button.

Are you sure you followed it step by step? Try restarting the Steam Deck too.

When I bind a button on my steam deck to F2 and try to open the UI in game, nothing happens. I have the Skyrim together icon at the menu and I've made it this far, I just cannot find a way to open the UI.. 🥺

​​​​​@@InternalErrorX one step ahead of you. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim and the issue persists.. I followed each step including making sure the anniversary addition isn't installed, and I still can't use F2 to open the UI. I even tried a Bluetooth keyboard to no avail

@swagsI Did you run the post-deploy script on the Desktop? In Desktop Mode, browse to the game folder files and check if it actually renamed SkyrimSELauncher.exe to _SkyrimSELauncher because it is supposed to replace that with SkyrimTogether.exe but renamed to it. If it didn’t then the script failed for some reason

No, you can skip it. It was actually a mistake since the graphics changes don’t take effect on Steam Deck since the “Steam Deck Verified” update.

@@mjmatiz4955 You can try a different version but it’s mainly tested with GE 8-27. I’d suggest trying the uninstall instructions then start again.

When i try to run the game it shows the skyrim together reborn menu for like 5 seconds and then it shows thank you for buying skyrim anniversary edition and changes the menu to the anniversary one even though I disabled the anniversary edition in the menu and the mod won't work ive tried like 7 times doing all the steps and it still won't work ive got no clue what to do.

This is a bug I have heard of even when normally installed on Windows. It might be from other mods or not running the game normally at least once before using Skyrim Together Reborn. I am not completely sure yet but will reply again when I find out. Sorry!

@@InternalErrorX hey I resolved it! If anyone wanna fix it you have to go on desktop mode, open Skyrim, and open the audio settings from the “windows” bar, once you are arrived here you can find the game in mute mode, unmute it and everything will be good

my friend install the skyrim in the steamdeck but the steam dont show the DLC screen, so we cant desactivate the aniversary edition. the mod will work??

Yes it will still work, but the Creations from the AE Upgrade DLC might cause some issues if used, and a warning message in the Skyrim Together menu. If he doesn’t see the DLC then he maybe simply doesn’t own it and can ignore that part and is good to continue.

@@InternalErrorX If before starting the game with the Skyrim Together mod, I go to the creation club tab, deactivate the mods, there should be no problem, right? The anniversary edition files are still there but since they are not executed I hope it does not cause problems. It will be enough to deactivate the four mods that Bethesda "has given us"

Yes, you can also try to delete them manually in Desktop Mode. Or check if the DLC tab in Steam is there in Desktop mode, to disable before installing the game to make it easier.

Run Undo STR on the desktop and disable the mods in Vortex. For changing settings (like graphics options), you have to add "SteamDeck=0 %command%" without quotes in the Launch Options in the Properties for the game on Steam, under the General tab. Later, if you want to play multiplayer again, then enable the mods (make sure to click Deploy in Vortex if it pops up), then run STR Post-Deploy on the desktop.

It’s currently setup to automatically set the executable in the Registry within the included GE-Proton. So if you use a different proton version or don’t follow the steps exactly as shown, you might have issues. I’ll see if the install/setup script can be more user-friendly and customizable soon. Also, might need to restart your Steam Deck after trying or when uninstalling. It’s also only tested for the internal storage by default. It should technically work on a micro SD card but is untested, so if you’re using an SD card and having these issues, let me know.

@@mjmatiz4955Yeah I tested and found out that it’s broken on SD card if the path says SteamLibrary, and just isn’t setup correctly. I’ll let you know when it’s fixed but you should still use internal storage if possible

The first time you load Desktop mode, it might ask you to setup those KDE apps, but if not, you should find it in the Discover app. Restart the Steam Deck if you still have problems.
