Omg I completely agree. I want the vanilla feel, the feel of SKYRIM. The ruggedness and all of it, the feel of the harsh Nordic planes. It all has a aesthetic synchronicity. Don't get me wrong I love the modded community and it's incredible and unique that Skyrim has such a large fanbase of incredible and talented people still contributing to and modding it, and to each to their own.. But it can be a little tedious when trying to tailor a modded experience unique to my very vanilla taste when the VAST majority of mod showcases, displays etc are all saturated in that very stylised, discordant, enb'd to fuckery look and all the characters are like anime people with enormous tits and pastel faces

@@perryneum778Just use bleak enb, or don't use any graphic mods. Btw I've had the same opinion as you, played my rim with bleak enb etc, but it really doesn't make much difference whether you use the low saturation, and contrast graphics or the high sat. If you're sick of vanilla as i am, focus on gameplay, and making the game more fun to play, try not to get drawn into IMMERSION, it's nonsense you'll realise quickly it's shallow, and lame scenic simulator, and honestly people you don't need 1k mods to have a amazing experience, i got 15 modded playthroughs with 100ish mods and they were, and are great. Trust me those 1k mods you'll forget about it the moment you start playing. F i had like 600 armour sets once, through the 100hour playthrough i used 4 of them, same goes for everything else, a small list of good stuff, is much easier to keep track of, you can always make another playthrough

I scrolled through and didn't notice any hate... some people prefer vanilla combat and I can see why. I myself like vanilla+ with some edited animations and simply find MCO to be way too much, it feels out of place for me.
@FROSTGamingVerse8 ай бұрын
@@accretionist1Previously there was a comment which was removed for some reason, possibly that was what he was referring to. But yes everyone can have their own choice which is why modding is great!
@SoCHobbit8 ай бұрын
Make the game better is subjective. I do overhaul combat in my modded skyrim but most of it would be considered vanilla+. I personally find a lot of combat mods, especially those that are part of MCO to be too over the top and flashy for skyrim, and I prefer mods that simply update some animations, without all the movesets. This doesn't mean I think MCO is bad. It just means if I want movesets I'll go play Elden Ring, but over the top modlists take me out of the immersion of skyrim. And I have friends that do not have the patience or the basic knowledge of modding to go through the process of nodding skyrim, and hundreds of hours later they are enjoying the game still. So my point is that saying people need to accept that mods make the game better is your own subjective opinion, and many would contest it.
@Cronalixz8 ай бұрын
@@SoCHobbitA lot of them go to straight up DMC territory, which is crazy. As you said, the movesets work better in their respective games. I can just boot up DMC and it works right off the bat without bugs... it's clear Skyrim isnt really meant to be played like that. Always felt like Mount and Blade combat would fit seamlessly though, so I never understood why they didn't go with that instead

I don’t understand all the hate for modded combat. Yeah vanilla was nice, but the same combat after ten years gets really old. People saying “just play a different game” don’t understand how awesome it is to breathe new life into Skyrim and make it your own. :D

Vanilla combat isn’t even that good to get mad for tho… You get hit by weapons 5 feet away from you before the hit animation fully registers, it’s more like a number game of who does more damage and has more armor rating due to having almost no defensive options. And if you fight enemies with high attack damage and 20 percent of your health is gone you get kill-moved. I like Skyrim vanilla. I first played it on ps4 but you don’t gotta be delusional to like a game. Now it feels wrong for me to play without wildcat and hit-box mods

I like both vanilla and modded Skyrim. Now that a groundbreaking mod called MCO has appeared, as someone who likes high fantasy, I mainly use the Virgil moveset for high-quality action that fits the current trend. However, the reason I played Skyrim in the past was because the image of the brave northern Norse warrior with a steel sword and shield defeating a dragon and using the roar looked so masculine and strong. Some people say that the appearance of Skyrim's vampire lord is monstrous and ugly, but I really like the appearance of Skyrim's vanilla vampire lord. Originally, vampires were undead and monsters. They expressed monsters as monsters and made them look scary and powerful, so why should they be criticized? Anyway, what I mean is that Skyrim is good whether it's vanilla or modded
@FROSTGamingVerse2 ай бұрын
I get what you mean! Skyrim works in so many ways, whether you’re into the high fantasy action with MCO or the classic Norse warrior vibe. I'm no modder, and I'm satisfied with Anniversary Edition, but it would be suffice to say that the next TES game should be more revolutionary and mind-blowing as a game than the last, like Elden Ring is to the Souls series.
@FROSTGamingVerse2 ай бұрын
I totally agree! The modding community has done wonders for Skyrim, and if they had a decade to work on TESVI, it could be incredible. The next TES game definitely needs to push the envelope, like Elden Ring did for the Souls series. It's time for something truly revolutionary that takes the best of what we've seen and elevates it even further. Hopefully, Bethesda will take inspiration from the modding community and bring that level of innovation into the next game!

There used to be a combination of combat mods that made it similar to JKA/outcast combat, however all the updates broke them.. would have been nice to mix and mash it with stuff from this video.

the combat is actually kinda of more impressive from every other skyrim video with about the same title, But ngl i think something no one bothers to mod is the healing system, its really janky and no matter the player build you will always use restoration as your main healing source

I think striking a good balance between these two is my preference. I’m honestly not a massive fan of the super flashy MCO combat. I like using a mix of realistic animations like some of the leviathan, vanargand or goetia animations combined with CGO for more of a vanilla plus feel. Kinda opens up things like jump attacks and being able to use a 2 hander with a shield or some magic. And sprinkle some procedural leaning for that extra feel and it’s so much more satisfying than MCO for me. I’m ngl MCO doesn’t feel smooth at all. It feels stiff and clunky asf with tons of clipping and dodgy mechanics. No hate to the list the gameplay look undeniably more modern and probably more enjoyable for most but I’d take vanilla over MCO any day
@FROSTGamingVerse2 ай бұрын
Vanilla plus definitely retains skyrims original charm and I value it too :)

I use modded combat, but not this extensive, mines just more challenging, similar to souls combat, but that weapon wheel mod you got is awesome, and obviously the animations are 👌, i might try nemesis again, but setting up animations always feel like a annoying chore
@FROSTGamingVerse2 ай бұрын
Yeah, Souls-like combat mods are awesome for that challenge! Glad you like the weapon wheel and animations-definitely adds a lot of flair. I get you on Nemesis though, setting up animations can be a bit of a hassle, but once it's all set, it's totally worth it!

@@FROSTGamingVerse yup that's exactly what ill be getting, not a laptop again since i ended up ruining the battery very quickly on that laptop. Desktops are in the end just more modular which is makes it more repairable, likely could've avoided my current situation, lost literally 2tb of work projects, not actual work but my own personal 3d art projects, including alot of scripting i already had done for a game im making(still have backups on my phone, but not the actual code). As much as I dont like the combat you added, its amazing that Skyrim is basically a base to make it whatever game you like. Me personally I prefer directional blocking games like Mount and Blade or For Honor and... Yeah theres mods to make it like that. Amazing.
@FROSTGamingVerse8 ай бұрын
Yup this engine can achieve a lot for such an old engine! Directional combat is awesome, and I have tried it in skyrim, however its very difficult to balance when several enemies surround you.

I like nearly all of the combat changes, but the red slice/streak that shows up when hitting an enemy looks tacky and out of place. Can that be easily removed? It's very distracting from otherwise awesome hit animations.
