I'm glad I wasn't the only one feeling confused - I heard someone say that there were a lot of plot points that were being solved one by one and not all at once and that's why it felt a little off, which I can definitely see that!

I swear the 'intense fantasy' builds more sensible magic systems than these books, Im sorry... There are very simple And cosy, exciting magic systems even in big fantasy series. If you want one that is really easy to grasp, Mercedes Lackey & James Mallory's obsidian trilogy is genuinely so much fun and easy to digest.

Thank you!! I've heard of that one, I'll definitely need to check it out! For sure, I think there just needs to be a few moments where the character clearly indicates how magic works haha like in Mistborn, the rules were super clear right at the beginning and that helped me so much through the story!
