Airbus H130 (previously: Eurocopter EC130) is a light single-engine helicopter created by Eurocopter in the 1990s.
The EC130 was based on the light helicopter AS350 Écureuil (current Airbus H125) and, having many common elements with it, is distinguished by a significantly increased size of the passenger cabin. Coupled with the ability to be controlled by one pilot, this solution allows the H130 to carry up to 7 passengers. This made the H130 the most optimal helicopter in its class for passenger transportation, in particular for tourist flights.
The concept turned out to be successful: the H130 complements the multi-purpose H125 and is being delivered in large numbers to dozens of operators around the world. The total number of helicopters of this model exceeds 700.

@@SkyshipsEng The other narrator red the script as it was written for you. He used terminology and slang that is not common in English, but was if not a native English speaker a speaker with less accent than you. This made those terms and idioms off-putting for me, whereas with your accent they just work. That was my main problem with the other narrator, besides the other narrator not being you.... Awesome! I love this helicopter, flew on it over the great barrier Reef, got the prime front right seat, was the best chopper I've flown on, the visibility and comfort are amazing plus it's like a plane with little air conditioning vents above each passenger. Felt like the BMW of helicopters. Fast, comfortable, stylish, well built and sporty with cutting edge technology. I would highly recommend taking a ride in this helicopter if you have the opportunity.

Awesome video of an old DNA helicopter that modernized very well. I used to see the Ecureuil helicopters in the south of France rescue mountain climbers, as well as the bigger Alouette, hovering 3 meters next to mountains rescuing climbers. Amazing helicopters. It's a wonder they never called a series mountain goat!

Since i repair helicopters, i had the possibility to be a passenger a couple of times. And its much more enjoyable than a plane because you are much closer to the ground and the pilot can hover which is a nice bonus aswell. Sooo just do it^^
@justforever96
@justforever96 Жыл бұрын
No reason to be ashamed of that. Phobias happen. At least that one makes some sense. You probably _are_ safer just to stay on the ground, really. If you think it will be good for you to get the experience, go for it. But if it will take terrify and distress you, don't. It's not the end of the world.

@@justforever96 Exactly. I maintained and modified US Army helos for eight years and never really had the desire to fly in them. I was doing an engine ground run with a test pilot one time and he decided to lift off to a 100-feet hover for a few minutes. Scared the bejeezus out of me. I am a nervous flier even after 20-plus years in the USAF flying on transports too many times to count. 😉

They don't come standard with autopilot. even though the dual channel fadec looks after all the fuel scheduling on start this is still a ”stick and rudder” helicopter to fly, no scas or afcs on most of the ones you will see. It will start it's own engine but it won't fly itself. Also all the ones I've flown and worked with were a lot heavier than that empty, usually around 1600kg with floats/high density seating

Hey Sky, great job on this aircraft review. I love all of your videos!!! I thought you might appreciate 2 quick comments about your selection of words, when describing aeronautical performance. At 5:50 you say " noise limited areas". A better English translation might be "noise restricted areas" or areas with "noise abatement requirements, or noise abatement procedures". Either way, I'd use "restricted", not "limited" for best effect. At 9:00 you say "duplicated hydraulic system". A better English translation might be "redundant hydraulic system". Although "redundant " can mean "unnecessary, needless, and unessential". In aviation technology it can also mean "exceeding what is necessary or normal, superfluous", Frequently it indicates "more than one, providing a secondary safety feature within the design". So, one might say "a dual redundant system" (2X) or "quadruple redundant system." (4X) To confuse matters even more, the H130 tech sheet states that it has two hydraulics. This is misleading to some extent. It actually has " duplex servos". These are two hydraulic servo actuators, in one unit, for each pitch arm of the control system. If one servo fails, the second one will continue the work. However, the hydraulic source is still singular. So, if the source fails, neither servo can perform the task required. True, though, there are two hydraulic sources on the H130. However, they are separate and act independently. One hydraulic pump powers the main rotor system, while the other hydraulic pump powers the fenestron tail rotor. Neither hydraulic pump can act as a backup for the other or power the entire system!

Unfortunately since this video was made there was a tragic accident involving 2 H130s on January 2nd this year up at the gold coast in Australia when the 2 machines belonging to Seaworld Helicopters collided mid air as one was taking off and the other was coming in to land , the one departing had it's rotor torn off after the blades smashed into the cockpit of the inbound aircraft , it crashed inverted on a sand bar killing 4 of the 7 on board, the other helicopter making a miraculous emergency landing on the same sand bar with half of its cockpit missing and despite the major damage everyone on that aircraft survived with non life threatening injuries. Ironically, despite the apparent superb visibility from the cockpit as sky mentioned in this video, it appears, according to one of the passengers mobile phone footage, that neither pilot saw the other aircraft until it was too late to take evasive action

Can all those highly appreciated channels focusing on aviation, be it helicopters or passenger aircraft, please take note of the fact that Airbus these days is an almost strictly German operation. Hamburg is home to anything from A319 to A380 and Donauworh in Bavaria does all Airbus Helicopters. This has a lot to do with German discipline and engineering skills not found in the same way elsewhere. Since Boeing had to cease manufacturing envy obsessed US have spent much time tailoring online information to their preference while again failing the challenge of fixing the problem. The CIA used to say "Unless it's Boeing I'm not going" These days they will still arrest you and rob your house for booking with Lufthansa before they take your ticket, submit the sticker price for travel reimbursement before they had to the airport requesting a 1st class upgrade on their coach ticket. Poor, poor, no performance.
