As a massive boxing fan from the north of England, where Ricky is from I would like to say thanks to you Jay, coming from the country of the great Manny Pacquiao it means a lot! Both of these great boxers came from the working classes and have never forgotten their roots! I love them both, Ricky being amongst the very best in his weight class although I have to say if forced too, that Manny had the edge. This is no insult to Ricky because Manny is one of the best pound for pound fighters of all time!

British sports fans are amazing. They come up with songs for the teams and athletes they support. I just binged “Sunderland Til I Die” and I was captivated by the Sunderland fans’ passion.

Great to hear from Ricky and to see that he's back on an even keel, after all the trauma. This was one of the best Ringside Specials ever. Thanks for uploading - I liked it and subscribed.

Really wish the best to Ricky...Not many people really give their all toward something, for fear of failure or being judged etc etc. This dude wasn't the most talented boxer, but he worked his heart out and achieved so much. I hope he can enjoy his life now. He has zero to be ashamed of. He should only be proud.

Absolutely love this legend. It's so true about Cortez, his performance as a referee that night was appalling. He didn't allow Ricky to fight his fight. He was clearly protecting Floyd. I honestly believe if Ricky was allowed to work on the inside, the result could have been very different.
@antonio89041004 жыл бұрын
Cortez was infuriating that night, he did everything possible to protect Floyd and to break Hatton mentally. That said, I still feel Mayweather would have beaten Hatton if the ref was fair. It would have been much closer though, would have been a decision and not a knockout, and it would have been more like 7-5 or 8-4 UD. But the fact that it was in Vegas where there's always controversy, I could see it being a split decision with two cards 9-3 Mayweather and one card 7-5 Hatton, generating hype, demand and revenue for a rematch.
@paulcuddy43484 жыл бұрын
@@antonio8904100 I do hear what you are saying Anthony but I honestly think every fighter has a boogie man and Hatton was Floyds. Everytime Hatton got inside, Floyd was powerless, he couldn't handle it. If Cortez let it go, Hatton could have easily hurt him and that would have been a Floyd we have never seen. When it comes to this level, the difference between them is millimetres.
@antonio89041004 жыл бұрын
@@paulcuddy4348 True. One thing that is undeniable is that without Cortez or a Mayweather protecting ref, the outcome of the fight would have been very different. Btw I hate Cortez, terrible ref who shouldn't have been allowed into the ring.

@@antonio8904100 watch the fight again & count how many time hatton was allowed to hit Floyd behind the head with no warning at all. He’s knit picking, I understand but theirs he got away with too. Regardless Floyd was way to skilled for hatton. Epic fight none the least still
@gleechie95443 жыл бұрын
@@paulcuddy4348 he got knocked out from a check hook. Which means he was trying to come in on floyd & he was getting caught all night with them. He was bound to get knocked out from it regardless. Would letting him fight ruff & on the inside change the fight. Yes! For sure. Would he have still got knocked out yes!

Respect or Hatton forsure; I wasn’t a big fan of his in ring style; pretty rough, but his body punching was very good and creative as hell; wish we saw Hatton vs cotto. He was as great out of the ring as in it; that made him special
