Honestly, what is the point of a rematch. Dubois was the champ and held onto the belt. A.J can have his excuses for losing but the stark reality is he got whipped and when you watch the fight again, the punches he went down from were not even that clean! When you get beat like that by the younger fighter after the experience you have it tells you something...Joshua is shot mentally doesn't trust his engine and his lack of shots is down to not trusting his stamina so he is overly cautious...the thing is fighters do not respect his power now knowing he doesn't believe in his engine...Dubois pounced on him straight away knowing this never allowed Joshua to jab on back foot with slow tempo...all this Ben Davison is the savour crap you Joshua is still the same 4 fights later its just his level of opposition increased big puncher young strong hungry fighter...where does he go from here? He is not going to all of a sudden change in to a brawling puncher...is he going to be a contender or opponent for upcoming fighters? Watching that fight was beyond mortifying. He looked in such great form in the fights leading to it. But he didn’t utilise any of his strengths, he boxed like a novice and didn’t use any smarts. Im no AJ fan, i have always thought him overrated and have never understood how the brits prop up such a lame, dry and akward guy. He has the personality of a goldfish. I totally disagree with Eddie Hearn here. The issue with AJ in that fight wasn’t because he let Dubois get center ring well it was expected because Dubois is the naturally more aggressive fighter and the smaller man so why would AJ try to take center ring against a bear with a powerful jab. The issue was AJ neglected all his defense and he fought with a chip on his shoulders, he had his chin up in the air, his hands were all the way down and AJ was immediately trying to take center ring in the very first round and he was also looking for the counter right hand from the first round when Dubois was still fresh. That was extremely questionable. AJ just needed to focus on avoiding Dubois’s big shots, avoid the jab as much as possible and just box your way into the fight. Dubois is the younger man with a lot of energy and power, so why would you want to go toe to toe with a guy like that. Absolutely abysmal performance by AJ. AJ is the only one to blame here not Ben Davidson.

AJ have zero aggressive ring behavior. He is like a ballerina without leg movement. Who told him to box so open against so powerful puncher? What the heck was doing his trainer in the corner? Talking about sunday breakfast without beans. I would fall asleep. He need someone who is not scared to scream at him in the given moment and if needed even slap his face to wake him up. Respect to Eddie he talks a good talk he's keeling AJ'S options open and not being prompted to confirm anything, he's a fighters dream promoter really in fairness to the guy but I think it's very clearly over for AJ.. He will not want to retire after this because then everybody will say Dubois retired him... So he will make a lackluster confidence builder return agaisn't an opponent that cannot bang like Daniel can, and then maybe look to make the Fury or Wilder fight depending on how badly things go for Fury in his rematch with Usyk (no way he fights him if he KOs Usyk IMO) ... but whatever ends up happening I think poor AJ'S legacy is forever tarnished now and if I was him I would just bow out gracefully and rich AF and call it a day 👊

Rematches only make sense when the fight was close. AJ got slapped around the ring all night. It was only in the final moments that AJ landed the shot and had Dubois backing up a little but then got caught trying to be too aggressive.
