That's a good show with some good guests who aren't blinded by their own bias. Good mixed team over all although i think Gusto should have been the right back as he's so good and gets little credit. I always find these collaborative teams frustrating because they never clarify if it's based on current form or on overall ability. This week form won out. I think next season it could be very different if players like Fofana, Colwill, Gusto, and James keep improving, and Chelsea have some new players like Paez, Estavao, and hopefully sign players like Diogo Costa and Osimhen or similar calibre of keeper and striker.

Gusto has been quite poor this szn, definitely not the level he was playing at last szn. And i think a lot of it is down to his role being different with him being asked to invert into midfield and sometimes be asked to play LB. He's been all over the place so as a Chelsea fan, they were right not to go with him

I like Gusto he's been generally good for us, but his crossing is average and his shooting is woeful. If he gets that together he'll be a proper force. Will never hold a candle to James though with his physicality, ball control, crossing, and shooting.

As a Chelsea fan i totally agree with the combined 11. This season chelsea conceeded only one more goal than Arsenal which sounds close but individual quality saliba and Gabriel are unmatched. Lavia and Caicedo have been really good this season but lavia didn't play as much as partey and partey at times this season carried the midfield, even playing as RB i think he was very good. I rate him. Great show 🔥

What this shows is how far Chelsea have come. If James and Lavia stay fit they get into that XI next season. What Rory said is spot on a lot of people labelled alot of these Chelsea players flops early on and are reluctant to now admit they were wrong with the likes or caicedo Lavia Jackson madueke Cucurella etc. the sky is the limit for this Chelsea team and they look like they will win a title within the next few years under Maresca if they contribute improving and sign a good Center back and keeper.

If you would go by what Maresca is playing at Chelsea, the 3-2-4-1 system, you would actually build a great team. The only headache you'd have it would be the CF role, it's between Havertz and Jackson. I'd give it to Jackson though as he is more natural in that position. Cucurella or either Gusto start as full backs of paper, but they invert in the middle next to Lavia and Colwill, Fofana and James stay at the back, with Caicedo moving into a more advanced position up the pitch. Chelsea defend with four, but they attack in 3-2-4-1 with one of the full backs inverting in the middle.
