Haaland has the best minutes per goal ratio of any player to compete in the champions league scoring on an average of every 64 minutes, fastest player to 10,20 and 30 Champion league goals most of these broken before joining city, Quickest and youngest player to reach 50 goals in Bundesliga history, broke the epl top scoring record for 1 season in his first season Ronaldo: Minutes per goal or assist at 21 was 156. Messi: Minutes per goal or assist at 21 was 103. At 22 Messi had 92 goals and 46 assists in 200 games while Haaland had 187 goals and 44 assists in 236 games He offers a lot more the tap ins and if scoring them was so easy every striker would do it Haaland has played most of his career in weaker teams compared to Barca and Man United playing with the like of Durtmund until he joined city This dude can reach any heights

Assists are meaningless for strikers. Emile Heskey has more than Paul Scholes. He literally doesn't offer more than tap-ins. You're using goals to compare a 6'4 predatory penalty-box striker to a 5'7 tricky winger/playmaker in Messi who was constantly injured and finished behind Villarreal in the league before the Spanish attacking revolution which Haaland is reaping the rewards of. Being prolific or precocious at a young age may indicate an amazing talent - or it may indicate a player who peaked and reached his ceiling early and found his niche like Haaland did in a counter-attacking Dortmund side. He's made City worse in the league overall and modern football needs more than a goal poacher who can't carry the ball or make a reverse pass.
@KMD-qj1qc8 ай бұрын
@@claudecarlyle9284 Hesky does not have more assists then Scholes your wrong and assist are not meaningless, they are literally the movement the player makes with the ball that lead to the game changing by a goal resulting in it, your illogical statement when applied might as well mean goals and game scores are meaningless as well, which is what the whole game of football is based on. By tracking assists, analysts can quantify the striker's contribution to the team's offensive output beyond just scoring goals. These assists are the actual instances where the striker's actions contribute to the team's output. The striker's movements and decisions interact with those of their teammates to produce the actual thing that changes the result of the game, e.g: the scoring of a goal. You clearly don’t watch him, he had 15-20 tap ins last season, I didn’t use only goals in the comparison, it’s not the 1980’s anymore With the popularity of inside forwards with inverted foot (left on the right side and right on the left side) most wingers today are more or less strikers on the wing. Sánchez, messi, Ronaldo, hazard,figo, salah, Ribéry, Robben, neymar, mbappe, bale,reus etc….all routinely out scored the strikers they played with. Messi at Haalands age literally played during the golden era of the Spanish attacking revolution, he wasn’t constantly injured he literally played 127 game before 09 and still couldn’t match Haalands output. Ronaldo: Minutes per goal or assist at 21 was 156. Messi: Minutes per goal or assist at 21 was 103 Haaland: Minutes per goal or assist at 21 was 78 He’s clear much more then a goal scorer, he’s literally had only two less assists then messi at 22 years old, a master of getting into space, can carry the ball forward when heading up top, great at creating changes, a master at creating more space for his teammates when attacking due to getting the defenders to focus on, great at keeping the ball for Man City by rescuing it when it’s high in his air due to his amazing air ability, brilliant at pressing he tops the Premier League charts for pressures in the final third etc….he didn’t make city worse, they scored more goals with him and he won them the treble, he’s a never before seen freak of nature
@claudecarlyle92848 ай бұрын
@@KMD-qj1qc Pardon me, but you're being extremely generous in describing Haaland's attributes to the point of making stuff up. Heskey has about the same number of assists as Scholes in the Prem - it was Peter Crouch who has more. Therefore they're better passers than Scholes? They're meaningless with context. Do you honestly think Haaland is a better passer than John Stones or Busquets who break the lines through a crowded midfield because he has more assists? Do you honestly think he's a comparable passer to Kane, never mind Messi? I'm well-aware of paradigm-shifts in the 21st century, with front-threes and inverted-forwards. Because of this, technically limited goal poaching athletes like Haaland can be a hindrance in a possession side. You're pretending that Haaland is Van Basten or Thierry Henry 2.0, but Haaland gets assists because he plays at the sword's point of an attack near the penalty box; he doesn't create chances from midfield, he rarely makes throughballs/progrssive passes/passes into the final-third, his open-play xG efficiency is outside the top 500 in Europe and misses a lot of big chances, he can't carry the ball (see his carries and dribbling stats), his right foot is weak and his aerial game is bafflingly poor for such a big and athletic man (Man City fans on the BlueMoon forum and Dortmund fans on Reddit have made several threads noting this), and Messi was out on the wing and missing 10-15 games per season through injury and making a lot of appearances off-the-bench as R10's understudy, and finished 3rd behind Villarreal in 2008 with less than 80-team goals - then Pep arrived and turned him into a false-9 and revolutionised football (note that Pep rejects tiki-taka possession). Haaland is an amazing athlete, excellent off-the-ball movement, a fox-in-the-box poacher and devastating on the counter-attack, and he's given them the Plan B that City lacked in the CL (see 3-0 Bayern at home, though Rudiger contained him and he struggled against Inter), but even Giroud is clearly a better player technically. Haaland has made City worse domestically; their offensive metrics are considerably down since Haaland's arrival compared to the previous 5 seasons and they're worse defensively because their midfield is more porous and static. He leads final-third pressures because he plays so high up the pitch; he rarely actually wins the ball and it's more rare that he drops into midfield to aid defensively.
