He’s (Lee Carsley) has plenty of experience with the new young players coming through and has won the u21 Euros with them. Club management is very different as Graham Taylor and the exotic foreign club managers have found out. Promoting the u21 manager is the way to go especially if like Lee they’ve been successful and known to be good at man management. People or Klopp wouldn’t necessarily be good for England and might not have done as well as Southgate even.

Look back at the managers who've won major international trophies and you'll usually find a manager who had success with the under 21s team. Lee Carsley is the first England manager to win the under 21s euros since the 80s, he's the man

Yeah like argentina and Spain had almost no experience and won a euro, World Cup and copa América etc. international football is completely different to club football. Trend is heading to youth coach gets the job instead of high profile club managers. They don’t know much and you must have your own manager because of nationalistic pride and stuff like that. He played for Ireland but he was born in Birmingham so it’s bit different.
