I think Tripps has been brilliant playing in the wrong position. I feel he has a better understanding with Foden. I’m a big Luke shaw fan but when he was brought on to exploit that left hand side Dutch defence he didn’t do that.

I have never met or worked with or for Southgate but judging by the players and pundits, one of his strengths is to create a feeling of unity and cohesion within the group of players. That is an important quality in a manager. If he wins today, he will have several top jobs coming. I predict that TenHag will be fired from United. Who knows if Southgate will replace him.

This is hardly the pivotal question, a LB or LWB. It’s a bit of a small world view. Do you think Spain are even considering this issue? There are much bigger issues, like scoring goals. Nobody won a Euros cause of a LB, neither of them are Roberto Carlos. The crux for England is to create and score a couple of goals. Spain will score at least 1, maybe 2. We always lost to the big boys by the odd goal, and we need to focus on going forward. Kane, Bellingham and Foden are the keys, and if they don't fire on all cylinders we will lose.
