I think the most incredible thing about this interview is how we got to see through the eyes of Pep. It is quite surreal how objective he is(13th min). When he spoke to how the public defines pragmatism and how he does, it took me back. That at the end of the day it comes down to numbers, not a style of play. For me, he dissociated perceptions, feelings and emotion from the what he is expected to deliver. At the end of the day, its not playing a pleasing type of football, but rather being objective and always delivering results. Secondly, I love how he leads. In the 11th min he talks to how poor delivery of a tactic is the sole responsibility of the manager when players fail to execute them. Its honestly heartwarming how he is quite aware of himself and his team. I am an United fan, however, my heart is moved by this man's passion, understanding and intelligence. It goes above and beyond just football. I am truly inspired, personally and professionally. I am truly inspired, to be more productive by being more objective and less responsive to emotion (not to say I shouldn't live in my emotions, rather, that feelings dont deliver results). I am inspired to be more aware of the people I collaborate with for a common goal, to be aware of context and analyse situations and that, appropriate action will then be the intersection of the tools you have and what they can do best given that particular situation and context.
@charlesjulius3114 Жыл бұрын

@@DC-zi6se Not at all. For anyone to say he changed football is talking pony. The man said himself he learned everything from Cruyff and the Ajax way. He's very humble and I have respect for him. I think what most people miss is his way of dealing with players egos. He has no problem making big decisions. Cancelo for example. He gives youth a chance. He knew when it was the right time to bring Foden in to the team progressively. He's doing the same with Palmer. All these attributes is exactly what Fergie did. I hate saying it but this current crop of players at City could go out and express themselves without a manager. They are a well drilled unit. Roy Keane used to say it at United. Sometimes the manager didn't have to give a team talk. It was drummed into them well before. The mentality was instilled in them. I just think Guardiolas man management is exceptional. It's not about new ways of playing because he learned from Cruyff.

Make no mistake Man United spent money and dominated in the transfer market also
@shahzadirani Жыл бұрын
Sir Alex Ferguson re-built United from the ground up. They had not won a league title in 26 years. The money he later on spent was thanks to his own hard earned success of using youth academy players and putting in a scouting network in place. Pep inherited a billion dollar City and a smooth situation where City had a nice backroom staff and boardroom and some of the players already had won the league two years before Pep joined lol. Sir Alex dominated across 4 different decades and the quality of the teams he had to face in the 2000s was much stronger than what Pep has had to face nowadays (Sir Alex had to face Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool who would all reach UCL semi-finals and finals each year for 5 years running). Pep's only true challenge has been a tight budget Liverpool and a Europa League quality Arsenal squad. Pep has done 3 PL titles in a row now, which is great. But Sir Alex did 3 PL titles in a row on Two different occasions which is massive.

You can tell Henry is a lil bit nervous.😂😂He's so careful that he doesn't pose a question that will piss Pep.He has so much respect for the genius😂😂.Someone will think it's one of the routine meetings gaffers have with individual players.😂😂

Pep’s anti-fans always try to belittle his achievements by saying he gets great funds at his teams. However, they forget the facts many coaches have managed their teams well with limited funds but they fail when they receive decent funds. Pochettino took Tottenham to CL final with nearly zero transfer fund, then he got sacked the following year after receiving decent transfer fund due to poor results. It’s the same with him at PSG. Frank Lampard lead Chelsea to Top4 without transfer fund due to transfer ban. Then he received great funds the following year but got sacked due to poor results. It’s also the same with Graham Potter. Guardiola lead Bayern Munich to CL semifinals 3 years in a row, then Ancelotti took over and Bayern Munich got eliminated at CL quarterfinal. Afterwards, Ancelotti got sacked after 15 months in charge due to poor ,inconsistent results

Absolutely genius coach. No doubt.

Whoever is questioning this man doesn't deserve to watch what happened a couple of days ago with Real. Facing Real in a semifinal with Ancelotti on the bench nonetheless and MC showed a dominance that Real supporters probably have never witnessed in their whole life. When you dominate the game like that against a roster of stellar players and you show your supporters such a good game with quality in every box and most importantly courage, you deserve appreciation. It is not the championship, it is the CL and Real and Ancelotti do not play unprepared, that's the reason one is the manager and the other is the team with most trophies in CL's football history.

I witnessed it once when pep was managing Barca.. Even though City were great you have to question Ancelottis tactics though, ridiculous line-up considering he knew how City played
@guglielmoscecspir1053 Жыл бұрын
@@Bredemann100 This squad is not even close to what Barca was. Messi-Xavi-Iniesta-Busquets is possibly the strongest quality pack anyone has ever had in the history of football. It was not ''normal'' to always dominate, but it kinda was. Real has the ballon d'or, not the other way around.

A huge part of this City side is winning the second ball and I find it very interesting that Pep says that this was the most surprising thing to him when he came to the Prem.

People always argue about Man City's "Oil Money" but have to remember they spend millions on players like Ake and Grealish with absolutely NO EUROPEAN experience. Then the next season plays out and Grealish is cooking Carvajal and Ake is pocketing Sane, Mane, Davies, Choupo Mouting, Kimmich, etc. Pep isnt buying already TOP players, he develops them.
