Thanks for the SkyTrak Course play review. Decided to do the 30-day trial offer for Course play (cost: $30). Played Pebble Beach this weekend. with my brother and friend. Pros: The graphics were good. Water was realistic on the water holes. Cons: We couldn't name the guest players. Brother and friend had to play as "player 2" and "player 3." I know, not a biggie, but I like E6 allowing us to nickname the players. Putting, in my opinion was hard. Even setting the gimme range at 5 feet. It seemed that we had putt out every hole. As a result, the course play took us over 2 1/2 hours to complete 11 holes, before we had to cut it short. I like the autoputt setting in E6 that computes a hole score, depending on your distance from the hole, once you're on the green. I noticed that the scorecard display after each hole displayed a stroke score, with decimals. Not sure if I'd play Course play with friends again. I may play it a few more times, alone, to check out the other courses before my trial period ends. But with other players, it seems to take too long. Final thoughts, I still prefer E6, with my gaming laptop. It gives me the versatility to play with my ipad, if needed. I used to have GS Pro, after reading all the review about the realistic graphics and unlimited courses available, but I always had connection problems with my laptop, so I finally decided to cancel my subscription at the end of the year.

As always - Appreciate the review and the honesty mate - I’m still so frustrated with hardware subscriptions but I also prefer the approach of GSpro

Hey Mitch great honest video mate. I had the exact same experience… The putting for me was exactly the same HLA was inaccurate and I was also getting some that randomly had a lot of VLA which killed the distance. And of course the stimp of 5 really isn’t great however that can be taken care of with a physics adjustment. It’s refreshing to see another honest review on KZbin! 😂 Cheers

Thanks, enjoyed this look at the Skytrak offering. I play GSPro on a BLP but enjoy seeing what else is out there. The graphics compared to GSPro are better with regard to the water and the buildings and things that they’re able to scan using drones (which GSPro designers aren’t able to do). But it looks like the grass textures and bunkers,etc are better in GSPro. I hope GSPro can introduce better looking water in a future version.

Agree I have a trial on course play and it is nowhere near GSPRO. It has possibilities but needs a lot of work in graphics, features like match play, scramble etc. Being able to change lighting and offset which is available in the range but not course play. For a first release it's not bad.

You can use an iPad as long as it has an M1 chip (or better) 👍🏼⛳️

@hcpgolf you mentioned at the 16:20 mark (approx) that no sub is required with Skytrak to use GSPro. Can you confirm I heard that correctly? If so, do you find suitable practice facilities in GSPro to replace the practice exercises with the Essentials package?

No you don’t need the essential subscription to play GSPro. There are some game improvement features in GSPro but they aren’t as good as SkyTrak’s (in my opinion)

Ive personally asked skytrak will they do an integration for gspro and they said no if they were anyway clued in they could sell so meny more units with the best sim software in the world with active tours and community rather then wasting there time trying to develop a sim software.

I don’t know what is going on behind the scenes but you’d think this would make sense for them to do that!

It is rumored SkyTrak is silently partnered with Trackman. That's how they got all these courses so quickly. If true, they are basically Trackman's VG2 courses "dumbed down". I am sure TM is getting a cut of every sub SkyTrak sells. Ergo, if they are partnered with TM, they will never integrate with GSPro.

⁠@@hcpgolfI’m pretty confident that’s accurate. After I heard that I went and checked the trackman offering and all 30 courses are included in it, including the more random (Lake Oswego CC) and custom (The Lost 9).

Putting on any simulator is so irrelevant. But definitely agree. Many other better options. I will say though. Lake Geneva isn’t the best example. Played pebble beach and it was drastically better, graphics wise, than GsPro.
