Thinking about buying a skytrak. Is there a reason you don't use the FMJ on yours for protection? I saw some rumors it can mess with the misreads with it on? Is that true?

That's great to see for the meantime you're still using the OG Skytrak. That makes me feel better about my decision to purchase it for $995 USD brand new for my first SIM I am currently building. I wanted something better than a radar unit but didn't want to spend too much considering it's my first SIM, so I found OG Skytrak price to be quite nice for it's accuracy and not having to take up so much space. However, I don't have a PC and will be using iPad 10th generation that I will connect to a 4k projector via AV adapter cable. Do you have any experience using OG Skytrak with an iPad or any advice/info on what I should expect with using iPad instead of a PC? I do know that the only 3rd party app I will be able to use for the time being is E6. I did hear Skytrak will be releasing iPad software in September maybe, just hoping an iPad 10th gen will be able to run it.

Go with a ForeSight GC3 for your dream launch monitor ($6,000)! They are so good on spin indoors. Almost as good as a GC Quad that runs $18,000.

I had a Skytrak+, it was good but I found the GSPRO community connector wasn't 100% great and I got frustrated so I sold the skytak+ and bought a Eye mini lite. So far it's brilliant ! No issues, connection to GSPRO is seamless and shots are instant. I use it outside in the garden hitting off a mat when weather is permitting with no issues. I do miss Skytrak+ portability when in the garden but I would rather have reliability. I did think should I just go for the Eye mini, but the cost difference is too great.

Fun fact - When the Eye Mini first launched it came with face-to-path data, but that metric got removed by an update not long after launch. I've been an Eye Mini owner for almost 1 year and after the firmware updates of the last 3 months I'm extremely happy with the device. There were some spin axis issues that are now resolved. If the budget can extend, I'd definitely pay the additional for the full fat Eye Mini vs the Mini Lite.... You not only get the battery portability from the Mini, but also the screen with multiple data points which makes it much easier to fault find when shot data stops going through to GSPro.

Mitch are you thinking about moving away from Skytrak?

Their subscription fee is pretty reasonable if you ask me. Don’t see anyone giving this for nothing. Or do you have someone who does?

I read that SkyTrak is working on releasing their course simulation package for IPad. Do you know anything about that? Thanks.

The delay is still awful

If you have a SkyTrak, then I get the Eye Mini but I have a Foresight GC3 and will never replace it with an Eye Mini. The photo impact is cool but just one feature.

I own this device. It’s amazing. Sold my SkyTrak+ and have never looked back. Works perfectly with GSPro. Instant response.

I live in Australia got a mini lite 3 weeks ago for my first golf simulator and loving it. Haven’t pulled the trigger on GSPRO yet as I’m playing the software you have just shown. I am off 11 Hcp really working hard on my 8 to wedges spin scoring irons. Finding the distance and shot shape to be correct as when on the course Love ya channel keep it up

Looks a great unit like the speedy response after hitting . Loving the Protee Vx bit more expensive ,improving all time with software updates .

The dealbreaker for me is I have to pay a subscription in order to pay another subscription…

how many feet is your skytrak form the screen in this video? can you hit a 60 degree wedge full shot comfortably?

I just decided to purchase the OG Skytrak today for 995 USD for my first home sim. for my budget, seems to be the safest bet and I really only care about using the range feature for practice and dialing in distances as opposed to sim play rounds and worrying about club data. Your videos have been a big help in my deciding and knowing even though it's older, it's still a solid purchase. Space is also a slight concern, my room is 11 feet wide by 17 feet long, how many feet away do you typically hit from the screen with OG Skytrak? I was originally going to get the R10 but I just couldn't accommodate that much space for behind the ball and to the screen, plus Skytrak seems more accurate anyway, for just a few hundred more.

I'm 5'11''. I have 9' ceilings and I can swing without hitting the ceiling. Will a 7' width by 10' depth work ? Maybe I should use a net instead of the screen ? Also, is Skytrack/GC3 mandatory or would this work with a Rapsodo MLM2Pro ?

Good honest first impression Mitch. I’ve not got this, but based upon this, I think I’ll wait a while as like say, it doesn’t look finished & some of the features are a little odd. Good video tho mate 👍🏻

It looks like you're misreading the carry on the SkyTrak and mixing it with the total distance.

Hey do you know why I keep getting misreads with my SkyTrak when using GoPro?

i am looking for a unit that does not need 20 feet of length from front to back, limited space with acurate data. I get confused on all the extras that are required. i just want a launch monitor, driving range and some courses to play without the need of another 600 a year in subscriptions.

Interesting monitor. In my opinion GC Quad is superior to Trackman in almost all ways. Ok, you have to use the stickers buts that's not a big thing.

Appreciate your videos. Always informative and straightforward. I have read that Skytrak plans to release their course simulation for iPad some time this year. Do you have any insights about that? Thanks!
