How do they do tracking? I doubt they use blenders internal tracking system. Until today I can't even import AE 3d tracking data properly into blender. I heard about Voodoo Tracking Software but never tried it. What do you recommend? How do you track your footage to merge your CGI made with blender?

@@cybershellrev7083 thanks but again his video is not about how to use professional tracking data from AE or Voodoo in blender. The internal blender tracker is very limiting, also when you already have tracked your shots in AE 3D tracker..

@@Lensbreak - i would suppose it's because AE and Voodoo have their own encoding? Idk if it'd be legal for blender to implement support. You'd probably have to hope for some coder to make it an add-on.

@@cybershellrev7083 back in the day there was an addon by Atom but not supported anymore since years.. I dont think it would be a legal problem, you basically export text data from AE and import it in blender. We are not talking about opening AE files inside blender.

@@Lensbreak - Interesting! Damn, if it's legal, hopefully they do add support, although I doubt it. Most could just tell you to use Blender's tracking or just use those other programs to do the final composite with it's tracking. Hopefully its on the way 🤔 Maybe send a tweet to blender with atom's add-on and ask them for that implementation?

At 17:35 he talks about how the first version of his film "didn't work". So he does care for the technical stuff, but not the film itself? Then he should make a different type of film maybe, so that he does care and makes it good. Because if others tell you that your film is not good and you act on that response, you don't know what exactly you want.

Errr what? He talks about a first cut that didn't work from a storytelling perspective. People criticized certain parts of how the story was told, he worked out the underlying problems and did some reshoots. You know, like every decent filmmaker ever?
