Morrowind is, IMO, the greatest fantasy ARPG of all time by a fair margin. I'm currently replaying it after 20 years. The game does indeed need a complete update. So far, what you folks have done looks phenomenal. You're keeping it Morrowind, but making it so much more enjoyable to play. I'm absolutely stoked for this.

Other than outdated graphics, only issues morrowind have is the diceroll combat and the levelling system is outdated. It just needs skyrims use skills to level them up system and diceroll removed, but also needs to be changed so that the beginning areas are still hard as the diceroll itself was in place to limit the player moving forward to much when not levelled enough. Other than that it is perfectly playable to this day. The hyperlinked journal is still my favourite mission system in any game.

I can see bethesda doing something like that rather than just shutting down Skywind and Skyblivion. @@Illogical.The voice doesn't sound particularly robotic, it seems like such a random claim to make.
@Illogical.4 ай бұрын
@@savlecz1187 Huh. I'm sorry for making that accusation, then. It sounded really unusual to me. Yes, I did think it was odd to use real voice actors, but then use AI voice to narrate the video. I had the suspicion of it being AI before I got to that part, and then noticed the, now, presumably just coincidental, specific wording. My suspicion grew*¹ for various reasons. I don't remember all of the reasons, but the way nerevarine was pronounced (considering how little I have played Morrowind, I did not give this evidence much weight, but it was easy to remember). I don't have the words to formulate the way in which the other things I remember sounded weird to me. I would much rather drop my claim than rewatch the video to look for evidence that supports it. You knowing a specific name already seems like far stronger evidence for the voice and speech patterns belonging to a human than what I have brought forth. It also doesn't matter to me very much. Especially since this is a video about the development, and isn't directly a part of the game. I will make sure to be more critical of my suspicions that something is AI in the future. I think I noticed one initial detail that sounded odd, and then started listening for more odd details. Although, just a few days ago, I spent hours trying to find the original artist of a certain piece of art, and ended up finding a clear enough image to see that it was probably made by AI. Here are the key things I remember being odd about that image: Unnatural and symmetrically inconsistent sleeves. Eye colors too different, but not enough to be noticeable, and not for shading reasons. (not good evidence. Could also have been a bad sampling by me.) Weird thing that looks like it's supposed to be part of the handon the left, but doesn't make sense as being part of the hand. Linear increase in finger length on the hand on the right. And something about hair continuity. I did spend a lot more time on the image than I did on this voice, but voices are also more difficult to describe. *¹: "My suspicion grew" seems like I might have been cherrypicking. That is not good. I should make sure to avoid doing that.

This project is absolute modding madness, what a undertaking! Respect to all and everyone involved! I will be celebrating when the final product finally finds the way onto my SSD and i can touch this remaked/remastered masterpiece! Thanks to all of you involved! The modding scene in general is the one who keeps the games alive...in some cases even over decades! Such Awesome!

I’m gonna tell my kids this was the making - of Morrowind. lol The voice-acting segment had me rolling 😂 “Put it back- put that thing back or so help me!” “Never-ever-eneee” *sigh* as someone who’s followed this project since roughly the beginning when it was still mostly forum-talk, i’m so grateful and in awe of the immense talent, skills and all the work that has been drawn together to create this amazing piece of art. All of you working on Skywind are beautiful. Thank you for your work and continued dedication

Holy hell looks like we’re finally getting there. Been keeping an eye on this since 2014. I also appreciate that it looks like the team does on some level understand there’s times when you need to rein it in like was mentioned in the VA mastering section.

Bringing back all of the armor slots and all of the skills from Morrowind - even spears??? Fantastic. You folks are amazing
@psyc840Ай бұрын
You can actually put your ARMOR over your CLOTHES! That was the biggest gripe I had with Skyrim’s armor system! It made the ancient falmer armor look so stupid! And you can swap the pants out too? Is it Christmas?

The idea of playing Morrowind with Skyrim's graphics sounds AMAZING! And since the people creating this mod, loved and understood Morrowind, I imagine that this restoration of TES 3 will be a great improvement to the original.

The fact that you've put in the extra effort to bring back a lot of what made Morrowind special is insane. Extra clothing slots, new spells, all the bloody dialogue (and fully voiced by the looks of it). You're all mad. Inspiring. But very definitely mad.

@KingJ1397-v8q4 ай бұрын
@@riokollivieryeah definitely Bethesda can’t put this much passion into anything all their games are just soulless money grabs cause they know thier role playing loving fans are okay with weak story and poor combat since they don’t use those parts anyways they just create a mode and their character and prance around playing day dream sims

I didn't realize it until this video but Morrowind probably needs way more voice acting than Skyrim or Oblivion since it originally used huge chunks of text that weren't voiced at all. It's amazing how far along the project is! I haven't been following closely but I didn't expect you all to be this far into it.

Your depictions of bonemold armor, kwama creatures, and ald ruhn are PHENOMENAL! I already know this is going to be an incredible adaptation because you've absolutely nailed 3 of the main anchor points that make Vvardenfell the otherworldly setting that it is.

This might be the game I look forward to the most and perhaps one of the most valuable games for me of all time. I am being very serious - I have played many of the classic RPG greats (Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 1--3, Dark Souls, Morrowind, Skyrim, Pillars of Eternity etc) and I am as hyped for this as I would be for any other promising entry in these series. So much love,, so much sophistication. The real Elder Scrolls are communities like yours, Skywind's, we met along the way.

I have never played morrowind as I was way too young, my first elder scrolls was Oblivion. So I am waiting on Skyblivion. But I just came across this for the first time and it does look amazing, as I have always wanted to play morrowind. So I think this Skywind will be the one to set it off for me!

Just learned about this project today and am quite excited about it! Despite having been gaming since ~1980 (yes, I'm old) I've never been able to force myself to play the pre-Skyrim games as the graphics are just too... much... plus other various issues. Learning about Skywind, and I Skyblivion, is just awesome. By the way, the music at 5:15 grabbed my attention so thoroughly that I fought with Shazam until it gave me a result (apparently I'm the sixth person to do so 🤣). My compliments to Mr. Richards on such a lovely piece. Now to finish the rest of the video! 🙂

I don't know how you guys do it, but literally everything about this project is amazing. There wasn't a single thing in this video that I didn't like. I love the kinda cartoony artstyle, I love the character design and animations, the spell animations, I love all the locations full of wonder, I love the music, sounds; even the video editing and writing is great. This project just radiates passion.
