Joplin. From 1:50 on all the Real estates down below looked new to me. Was that the tornado's path ? I really like small jets because you feel flying more somehow. Never flew on a CRJ. Maybe in May when i am coming to Joplin. 😀

Those are new homes, but they are not a result of the tornado. The tornado went though farther south and we didn't pass over it here before turning west. That's just one of the newer subdivision areas.

Wow... great views taking off. I've never been to Joplin at all. Just think. In a few years, you'll be posting videos of the moon's surface from the Orion spacecraft - with views of the Earth from a quarter of a million miles away.

The best of It is,the low rotation angle. I flew with this model many times, The spanish regional airline Air Nostrum a subdivision of Iberia operates the CRJ 200 and 1000 for their inner spanish routes and some european ones.

Those CRJ are very fast accelerating aircrafts. It's like sitting in a sportscar seat. Can compete with a Porsche 911 Turbo on the runway.

That strip at 2:34 is most probably a tornado scar

nope, tornado scars have a faint brown color to it

The tornado scar is still visible, however it’s farther south and isn’t visible in this video. It’s been 11 years and all the infrastructure has long been rebuilt. What’s still visible is the lack of mature trees, as nothing was strong enough to withstand the winds.

It seems like airlines are phasing out the CRJ’s and maybe opting for the Embraer 175’s? In any case, they have been a workhorse for the smaller feeder airports and while the seats are smaller and it’s noisier overall, I grew to like these planes. Ironic to hear the announcements regarding masks on this flight and how quickly that mandate started and then ebbed away.
