Have high elves nearly always never break their treaties, have dark elves more likely to break their treaties and have skaven be super likely to back stab you. And then tie it into their strength, so if they’re powerful skaven are likely to betray you etc. Something like that

Its really disappointing that CA didn't fix the Diplomatic issues with vassals (military partners declaring war on them etc). It was one of the things that bothered me the most in WH1&2 and I think it's one of the few things that can't reliably fixed via mods (either not possible, or too brittle between all the DLCs & official patches). CA REALLY needs to take another look at this and at least have AIs take an empires overlord/allies into account before wardeccing.

Honestly, dealing with the vassal issue should be something they could easily patch. Make it so that vassals take on your relation with other places. So in the Khugath situation, he'd like kislev then because he likes you. Alternatively, simply make it impossible for an ally to declare war on a vassel, or make vassels immune to war declarations. I personally think the former would be the best, but I'm not a coder.

Damn near a decade later and CA STILL can't deal with the AI's brain cancer attacking your vassals. Just...so stupid. In all games that have them, no matter your relationship with them, no matter how much stronger you are than them, no matter haw far away in the map they are from your vassal, at LEAST one ally will always always ALWAYS declare war on them. It's all so tiresome.

Don't have allies, only vassals. The vassal swarm works well in every game from Rome 2 on. If you get multiple vassals eventually it's like something flips in the AI's brain and it decides to go ham.

I would love to see this simple fix to slaanesh being bad in sieges. No ranged puts them at a MASSIVE disadvantage. CA could just make slaanesh inflict siege attrition immediately. The presence corrupts troops and make them abandon post. This forces enemies to sally out so slaanesh can actually use their mobility in a field battle.

Just read up on the vassal system in the current Warhammer Total War and it's honestly baffling. So many of the design decisions made in regards to vassals just don't really make any sense. For example: why does freeing a vassal apply a diplomatic penalty? Wouldn't they be happy to be given back their freedom? Also why is there no option to annex a vassal state? That feature would turn it into a great alternative conquering/confederating mechanic for when you don't want to have to build all their settlements back up after going to war. (For example: I could vassalize one of the other tomb kings in the desert as Settra, then annex them once they've brought their settlements to tier five, making it much easier to gain access to the pyramids required for victory.) This would probably only apply to factions that are of the same race, for lore/immersion reasons.

Personally I think the combination of the shielding mechanic and how badly you can cheese the AI with it, and just stupidly strong ranged units (if you haven't seen what a unit of basic Flamers can do to even the most elite armored and shielded targets, you should try!) makes Tzeentch the most OP faction in the hands of the player, but Khorne is definitely a close second.

i thought the starting location for slaanesh was really hard. she is sorely missing a chaos warrior unit like the mirror guard. against khorne all her infantry just melt instantly on contact. it's hard and fun (not an innuendo) but yea it is something i expect to be filled out when they integrate the old chaos dlc from warhammer 1 (if they do that)

I'm having the same problem in my N'kari campaign. Just rewatched the fight part of the video and am still not quite sure how he killed all those bloodletters, just via shadow magic? I've been considering restarting and allying that mortal chaos faction closeby to recruit some of their warriors as anvils.

@@MacGregor1991 ok so after retrying a lot of times here's the combined wisdom from me and my mate: slaanesh marauder's are garbage. the whip defenders seem like the best lineholders but it's actually the spear marauders cuz of their brace and charge reflect. your marauders are expendable meat shields like it says, they just need to survive long enough for your demonettes to get around the flank. spears are best for this. demonettes can absolutely shred infantry to pieces if they flank or surround an enemy. in fact because all your units are faster than khorne's so what you should do is just cycle charge demonettes into the enemy flank and they can't really stop you. this way you get the double damage from their trait harpies are perhaps extra important for slaanesh because it's extra crucial you tie up enemy missiles or cavalry. however i find it's not as important against khorne. n'kari and all your cavalry, monsters etc all have insane speed and so long as you micro they're effectively uncatchable and can charge over and over. they're also really fragile. slaanesh units are glass cannons you need to micro and handhold. focus on short wins. on the campaign side: you need to rely on your devotee armies. have them as reinforcements or as a suicide squad to soften the enemy up. technologies that buff them are good to get. cults and spreading gifts of slaanesh with your army helps you spam it more often. you need to wipe out Khorne ASAP. you can besiege skarbrand's capital before the first chaos rifts even spawn if you play your cards right. getting an alluress with shadow magic as fast as possible is important as slaanesh magic has no good damaging spells. just buffs. leveling up N'kari's blue path is a bad idea. more casualties post battle etc. can be nice for some extra cash but really you want to level up her fighting and magic. lastly seducing enemy blood letters is good. take away their damaging unit and give yourself something to punch through chaos warrior's armor with.

this slaanes really a cool faction... though we need to do plenty of non battle thing to make battle work in our favor. And i think about the diplomatic "flaw" , the easiest for CA to fix that is make the "Vassal"-ed faction got the same diplomatic relation as its master to others, and give a fixed rule that the vassal wont be able to rebel againts the master for at least 20 turn or more... or at least that work only when you play as Slaanesh. I dunno, hope CA got something to be done about it...

It is super weird that onlu human, elven and beastmen factions can be seduced. Like, I get the lizardmen or orks being immune to that. Dwarfs, tomb kings and ogres kinda make sense bcs they are resistant to chaos (even tho two of those factions are ultra greedy while the other one is ultra gluttonous so it's kinda weird slaanesh cant use that.) But skaven and vampire factions? They should totally be prone to that.

Skaven (and chaos dwarfs for that matter) have their own daemonic influences and chaos gods to worship and scheme with. I have no doubt that a grey seer might work with a daemon of slaanesh, but the skaven are too backstab-happy to ever truly be entranced by Slaanesh: they'd break the ruse themselves or never enter it because they'd assume Slaanesh would break it. As for the vampires (and tomb kings), they're not super prone to falling to chaos usually because undeath is anathema to everything chaos is - it's stagnation, emotionless, and cold. There are individual vampires and necromancers who cooperate with chaos (Mengari the Old and Tzeentch, Kemmler in general...), but these are usually in a "I'm going to collect more power and ultimately kick off these daemons" capacity. Chaos just doesn't really factor in for the vast majority of undead - and even then more of them would probably gravitate to tzeentch.
