Very informational. Thanks for experimenting with the crossover. Opens our eyes a little to see what PSA might be thinking. Just recieved my Nov order and still waiting for my Oct order. 35 10's out of 54. 2 8's

Nice, congrats. Was this a bulk order or $30 tier? Did they grade out like you expected?

Great video idea, guys! Even if it didn’t pan out, seems like most of us want to know how the different grading companies grade vs PSA.

Thanks Curtis. We have a couple more videos coming from this submission- 1 will be CSG 9.5s.

I recently did the same thing as you guys! I carefully (slowly) cracked my green label CSG 9's and sent to PSA. So far, I'm 2 for 2 (MJ base cards). Fleer 2009 MJ went from CSG 9 to PSA 10 and SGC 9 went to PSA 9. Waiting for my KB CSG 9's & some more MJ's too!!

Nice. Was it the $18 bulk or higher tier? We think/assume the newer graders are doing the bulk tier- and may explain the inconsistencies.

I’m curious because I have some going out and some still out awaiting the grade from PSA

it was rough. We expected a few more to upgrade. We have some CSG 9.5s in the next video.

CSG has publicly stated they use a more lenient grading scale at the same time they changed the label to assimilate to PSA’s success, imo. I also think PSA has done the opposite and about the same time line has started to be more critical.

Csg graded so hard in the beginning, I was disappointed in some grades I got

What about a CSG black label 10’s? Do those equal psa 10’s?
@nothingbutcardboard Жыл бұрын
Sometimes. Seems about 50/50. We actually have a few cracking videos that show that if you’re interested.

I collect the CSG green labels with subs over anything else. They were my favorites and sub grades are a bonus I never knew I needed,until CSG came around,lol. Now…I won’t use them because they don’t offer the service. I can get over the label change but taking away the service is an injustice to the hobby,imo. 🤪
@nothingbutcardboard2 жыл бұрын
you may be the 1st person I have heard that liked the green label. I agree the subgrades are nice. I did not like the green label or how big the label was, the sub grades actually helped the green label.

just got a horrible crossover return, sent in 6 - 10's cracked and got 5 - 8 and one not graded due to trimming ?????- i think might be done with PSA for a little

Not sure what is going on at PSA. That is ridiculous , 5 cards went from 10s to an 8! What company were the crackers from?

On the Mj playing baseball CSG graded accurately. Psa is just extremely biased to new cards being graded from that era. Don’t grade junk wax with psa

not so sure in re: to that Jordan baseball card...much more space in top border than bottom, and one of the back top corners had a good nick on it...7 or 8 seems to be what it should have gotten

I've watched more grading videos in the past few years than I should admit. My personal opinion is that CSG started out WAY to harsh on centering grades. Now it seems the tables have have turned and PSA is more harsh/critical on grading and CSG has stopped trying to be the tough guy graders. I wish they would have kept sub-grades but still pulling for CSG.
@nothingbutcardboard2 жыл бұрын
We agree- I saw an interview with the senior grader at CSG and he said “ they used to be really tough on the surface” grade, and have eased up a bit. And I think companies realize if they are “ to harsh” no one will want to pay the grading fees to get back 8s and 9s. We are pulling for them too, would love to see there values rise and compete with the other 3: competition is always good.

I had similar results with some 80s hockey cards . If you can see the centring issue , psa will not give a 10 . I could see that with 3 of your cards .

If CSG is a fairly new company, how was there a cracked slab?
